Description
This soundtrack combines elements of baroque clavier works with breakcore drums and metal rhythm guitar.

It is composed for the imaginary game "Chernobyl's Basement" which takes place in present day Chernobyl. it is about a task force that goes into a cave in Chernobyl to cull a population of sentient animals mutated by radiation. All except for you, the player, die, cuz plot armor.

The goal of the game is to escape the cave, killing everything foreign and hostile along the way, and I believe this soundtrack encapsulates this.

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
The cool, chilling, electronic arpeggios of "Limbo of confusion" juxtaposed with the aggressiveness of the French harpsichord and the rhythm guitar create a sense of chaos, confusion, and hopelessness similar to being lost in an unfamiliar place. In this instance, a cave under Chernobyl dug by sentient mutants.

Some really interesting and unique combinations of genres here that work really well, with lots of interesting ideas :) You could be more confident in developing the textures you use in the more subtle moments, and also look into libraries like Spitfire Labs (their free), as such sample libraries would really help bring out the sense of atmosphere you creating even further. Great work!

I did consider using the soft piano labs but I liked the simple FL keys sound for this project better. I'm not the best mixer, so I was a little sad when the combined instruments covered up the echo arpeggios. Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely look more into spitfire labs instruments

Very cool crossover between rock, electronic, and classical! My favorite track is Battle Against the Heart of the Cave. The combination of the harpsichord and rock guitar created a really cool tone that is fitting for a boss fight.

Overall, this was a very solid submission. Keep it up!

AMAZING SOUNDTRACK!!

I completely love the combination you've made of metal/rock elements with melodic lines closer to the baroque/classical style. so cool!

Great work!!!

The metal rock genre with its powerful drum beats and even a touch of medieval style really adds to the atmosphere. The piano in the third track is also outstanding, and the combination of knights and Chernobyl is indeed quite intriguing. It's a unique blend that captures the imagination >_-

ngl haven't heard anything like this so far, so nice work on that front! The panning for the instruments was a nice touch, especially in that first track (although the drums felt a little too far to the right), the sound choices overall were good. I really liked how you were introducing the instruments in the 2nd one, having them all come in one after another instead of all at once for like a bar or something made it alot more cohesive.

Thanks for the feedback!

I really like the mix of the styles. I haven't heard something like that before I think but it fits quite well toghether, or at least you manage to combine it very nicely. You use the leitmotiv between the first 2 songs combined with nice arrpegios and change it up in the 3rd song to sound more hopeful.

My favourite track would probably be "Battle Against the heart of the cave" just because the harpsichord and the e guitar combine very well + a good bass line and the second drop just tops it of very nicely.

Definetly a very cool and unique submission, keep it up! :D

This is awesome! Love the mixture of classical and metal influence! Everything gels together so well! The drums are well written - the tracks are filled with energy and the finale is a breath of fresh air to close out the soundtrack! Well done!

Glad you like it! Your soundtrack is great as well. Very relaxing, not too predictable, and matches the theme well

Always nice to find harpsichord enjoyers

You know, I like this one. I love the idea and theme and story. It all. Great job! Music was great and catchy! It really fit well with the theme. The harpsichord was a great touch. I liked all three songs.

thanks! Harpsichord happens to be one of my favorite instruments of all time. I wanted to use more 16 bit soundfonts but really only used the strings from mega man x

That is awesome! I have always liked that instrument.

Limbo Of Confusion - Oh... Echo and a cheerful piano... BEAT?! (I liked the small quiet part at 1:27)

Battle Against the Heart of the Cave - Synthesizers? An organ? Guitars? Drums? FIRE!! ((My favorite track)

Grand Escape is a beautiful ending to the story)

It was a pleasant soundtrack that would have been perfect as a musical accompaniment to a small beautiful story about the adventures of a little knight. Thanks!

Thanks :D

If you listen for it, you can hear some of the melodies from limbo of confusion inside grand escape

A really interesting combination of baroque sounding piano and heavy percussion and guitar!

Developer

the baroque version of the piano was called the harpsichord. It plucked strings instead of beating the crap out of them

Submitted

unusual mix, very cool sounding, it gives off a vibe of consoles. But I didn't hear breakcore there, though I liked it without it.
