I thought that the cutscenes were awesome!

I think the pixel art is nice. It would have been nice to go into a battle or be able to attack the enemy.

I was able to get a few of the boxes into the void but the I found difficult to know which way the box was going to go when I threw it.

It was really fun zipping around in the little. I kept being dominated by the enemy though.

Awesome! I agree that the vibes were great.

We thought the bats were cute! This was fun!

Very intense! Very cute character!

I like the design of the scientist dude

The concept really fit the theme very well! Very fun!

This is excellent! We love the art style!

Great job on your first submission!

Thank you for trying the game. You didn't miss anything. I probably made the rocks too scarce. I probably should have implemented a system  where a rock would appear in front of your current direction if you have been floating for too long.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I will have to add the wasd+space controls when I make platforms in the future.

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you and your son enjoyed it. The voice over, sounds, music, title and script were all by my daughter (age 9). We had a lot of fun making the game!

I really enjoyed this game. Great graphics! I loved the chicken and hotdogs!

I really liked how the game looked like an old CRT screen. Very fun game!

I really liked the lighting and graphics.  I also couldn't figure out how to interact with object/terminals.

The look of this game reminds me a lot of the shows from the early days of Adult Swim. I like how you added more interesting challenges as you progress.

I liked the drawings and the beginning cinematic. I thought the atmosphere created by the music and the graphics were cool. For some reason, it kept crashing on my system when I was approaching the second parasite enemy. Maybe it's just something on my system (MacOS).

I really like the customization allowed in this game

Very original and I thought the dialog was very funny!

I really liked the music and vibe of the game

My daughters and I had such a fun time playing your game! They thought it  was so cute! Great job!

Very cool! I really enjoyed the Pac-man type play.

The voice acting was really funny!

We really liked it. We had trouble understanding how to give the cats love.

We loved the meow button!

This was awesome and very cute! Great job

Very original concept!

We loved your game! We will be playing it again in the future!

Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback! All of the cat designs were by my daughters (aged 9 and 6).

I like how the battles look like Pokemon

The presentation is fantastic!

I really loved the art style and audio!

A few months ago I submitted a game to the Game Boy Jam called Neon Authority. I have decided it might be fun to try to expand on this and make a more complete title. Links to the game jam version of this game and the submission page can be found below:

https://tiredfish.itch.io/neon-authority
https://itch.io/jam/gbjam-8/rate/751633

Based on the feedback from the jam I think I can build on the following aspects of the game:

  • Art Style and graphics
  • Story and setting
  • Gameboy feeling

However, the aspects below were lacking:

  • Sound (I never got around to adding sound to the game)
  • Game Mechanics (there really wasn't much to this either)

My goals for this project are:

  • Add more depth and character to the story
  • More drawings and animations (make the world way more alive)
  • Add an inventory system
  • Add rudimentary turn base combat
  • Add sounds and music to the game

My plan is to add to this game using Gimp and GBstudio. I plan to work on this a few hours a week and will try to update this log once a week.

The first thing I did today was install GB Studio 2 Beta.  I migrated the Neon Authoriy project into this version of GB Studio. When I tried to build and run the project, an error kept occurring. It turned out my OS (I use Linux Mint) was out of date. I upgraded the OS and that seems to have fixed the problem.

One thing I like about GB Studio 2, is by default, only the connections of the selected scene show in the world view. When you have all of the connections showing, the view looks like a  confusing web.

That is it for me this week. Hopefully, I will have more soon.

I really liked playing this game. You really did a good job creating the Gameboy feel.

Good job! I had a lot of fun playing your game!

I really like being able to change the color pallet like a Super Gameboy

Very cool! I think you should seriously consider something like kangaree's idea.

This reminds me of the old cartoon Street Sharks
