As for the performance, it is definitely a little choppy in the outdoor areas, but it smooths out later in the game when you get inside.

This is great! Very strong start for a new developer.
I got stumped a couple times, and had to restart after dying and getting stuck outside the bird fight, but I did end up finishing the game.
It could do with a littlle bit of tuning to make it a bit nicer to play - faster move speed, less health on the bosses, less precise jumps in the section at the end, etc - but tuning issues are to be expected in game jams.
all in all, good job!

Thanks! I actually spent quite a bit of time coding an effect that emulates the more restricted colour palettes those old 3D games used to have to use!

As the person who did most of the art, it's good to hear people like the game's aesthetics lol.

As for the spear guys, getting close and circling around them is a good way dodge their stabs

Fun little puzzle game! It would be nice if the sequence was known from the start, but otherwise it's pretty good!

Took a couple attempts to figure out the tension bar meant, but otherwise it's a genuienly fun little game
