Reminds me of those puzzles where you need to navigate a ball through a wooden maze to get it into a hole. This game is hard, but still fun. And I love the words of encouragement the player gets, when they fail.

Submitted

This is definitely one of the nicest games in this jam.

The visuals and music both are really good and suit the game alot!

One minor bug I found was that sometimes, upon beating a stage, the next level won't have a collision or smth and I fall through the floor ;(

But considering how you are 12 (how) AND its nice polish AND that you made this with no engine, I consider that a MAJOR well done! :)

Developer

Thanks for the encouragement, it really keeps me motivated! I'm sorry to hear that, I was rushing to get it working and didn't have enough time to playtest... It's my first time making a game  with physics, so I'm still learning!

Submitted

This is really cool. The camera angle was a little hard to work with, but I really like the concept. Also the fact you did this with no engine, at 12 is extremely impressive. Really good job, keep making games.

Developer

Thanks! I know, it can be quite challenging at times (just kidding really challenging), but it is not that hard when you make your own engine from the (rather massive) codebase I have :)

Submitted

Congrats on this cool concept !

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Hey this is a cool concept! I like how the jump mechanic works and think it could lead to some cool mechanics! The phyisics are a bit wonky in my opinion and the camera angle doesnt help, but all of that is workable, so really cool entry!

And it is pretty impresive you build it all in javascript! Even more so being only 12 years old!

Keep it up! I think you have a bright future!

Thanks for the encouragement, it keeps me motivated! I'm sorry for the bugs, it's my first ever time to use the word "physics" :)

Submitted

Nice game ! I had a bit of trouble understanding what triggers the jump, but other than that, nice one, congratulation !

Developer

Thanks! As for the controls, you just tilt it one side and then rapidly switch to the other, like a catapult.

Submitted

Very impressive to create all this at age 12. You have a bright future in game dev if you keep it up. As for critique of the game, felt a bit like monkeyball. The controls didn't feel great at times, almost like there was a delay between moving the platform and the ball actually starting to move that way. The camera angle was sometimes frustrating too. Still a solid entry though! Nice job.

Developer

Thanks for the encouragement, it really keeps me motivated! I'm a total noob when it comes to game physics, I think I set the friction way too low so it never stops rolling... Thanks for the feeedback!

Submitted

The time it took to die was a bit long in my opninion

Developer

Ok, I thought people would think it's hard

Submitted

cool game. fits the theme very well! the  jumping mechanic is genius! though the camera angle was a bit frustrating

Developer(+1)

Thanks! And yes, I will be improving the camera in my future games :)

Submitted

Gives me Monkey Ball vibes. :-)

The camera was acting weird for me, hiding most of the level off screen. Not sure why that is.

But you're 12 ? At your age I was playing games, not making them. Then again, at that age I still had to make sure I wasn't getting stomped on by actual dinosaurs...

Developer

Do you mean the camera points away from the player or the field of view is small?  Thanks for the encouragement, it really motivates me!

Submitted

It felt really zoomed in. I couldn't really see where the ball was going. So I would say either the FOV, or maybe pull back the camera.

Not sure if others have reported the same problem ?

Submitted

A fun and interesting concept! The mechanics are kinda hard to control but still very fun and addicting to play!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback

Beautifully made game. And this was done in 48hrs, without a game engine??? Holy moly

It's not a perfect game, the controls get kind of weird when the camera turns, but other than that the physics work fine. I like how you use the ball jumping as a mechanic when the level is turned, I thought that was unique. Distinct color palette of the game is nice too.

Keep it up man! This was awesome

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback! The color palette is actually copied from Fall Guys, and the ball jumping wasn't part of the game design, it was more of a bug, but I took advantage of it! BTW, I have my own secret weapon: all of the code that I reuse every time :P

Submitted

I saw similar concepts in other games but good implementation on this one

Developer

Thanks! Half of the game is its design and half of it is implementation!

Submitted

would love to see this skinned like a olld handheld roll-a-ball game. monkeyball vibes!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Since I don't now a lot about texturing and the game is low-poly and simplistic, I didin't implement that. BTW, I was inspired by MonkeyBall!

Submitted

Love it ! Keep the great work :D

Developer

Thanks!

Concept's really nice. Also your Three.Js work put into this game is really impressive! Music was really good and catchy with the game's look. I really liked it.

Developer

Thanks, I didn't think anybody would appreciate the game's inexistent graphics :)

I was looking for jams with a similar name to mine and we have the same name and similar concept, very COOL. Great work, nice to see someone this young getting started with GameDev, keep up the good work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Good thing you didn't put on a '?' at the end :)

You've done what GMTK want. Good Work. But it sometime i forgot the keys to control.left becomes back :P, Neat finishing! Good Job!

Developer(+1)

Thank Mark for the inspiration! Glad you enjoy it!
