Yep. We would've liked to do more with level 2 and the lava. We even have another npc/obstacle you can petrify which was a snail, but we ended up leaving it out it in favor of refining the level design of level 1.

I saw it on the bulletin board and I'm so honored! But I didn't get to see the text. 😭 I'd love to see it!

Amazing job! The level of polish here AMAZING and the commitment to the wildcards is so impressive.  Great job!

I'm glad you got all the green gems! Thank you for the kind words. I played around with the idea of checkpoints, but I went with the super forgiving respawn system to be more welcoming to inexperienced players. That was decided early into the level design phase of development.

I'm still considering how lives/health can play a role to make the gameplay more engaging. I'd love to hear your ideas. I'm gonna continue polishing it up a bit post-jam.

No bats were harmed in the making of this game 😂.

Thank you for the tip! The warning was just that you can't revisit level 1 in case you wanted to collect everything. I'll have to pay more attention to spacing when it comes to clue messages like that one.

Sorry to hear that. It worked on Mac during testing, but I've found that the HTML build can be hit or miss on some machines. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make a Mac build in time, but it's something I plan to add once I get my Apple Developer certification.

Oh I see. Thank you!

I'm glad you liked it!

The long jump is hard even for me 😂 so that probably could've used some tweaking.

Still it's a good effect. Also I was curious how you did the thaw effect? It looks very cool.

Ah! I didn't think of that. Regardless, great job on your first game jam project!

The presentation is amazing! Incredibly cinematic. It makes me want to learn more about the character and backstory. Great job!

I love how the enemies move. The Gameplay is a fun level of challenging and the sound effects and animations between levels bring it all together.

Amazing art direction and tight controls! Great job!

Good stuff! Would love to see WASD to move

Good game! I like the progression. The upgrade system is a great touch!

Really cool game! I like the snowman melting

Awesome game! It was hard at first but I got the hang of it and scored 735! Well done!

I love the unique characters and eerie atmosphere! It's giving Buckshot Roulette vibes

This is awesome! The mechanics are so creative and addicting!

Also I was thinking about how the keys are set up. I think it would be a lot more comfortable to control if the keys were A, W, D instead of W, D, S. I definitely made it too hard though regardless hahah. 😅

I made an extra (silent) midi track  with only 3 pitches for the arrows, then we converted the midi to a json and DecDury made a script to parse the time, duration, and pitch.

Excellent work! The art and special effects are amazing and the gameplay feels good!

Thank you so much! This track was so much fun to make. I'm glad you liked it! If you want, you can check out my janky soundcloud page

Oh noo! Sorry about that. Me and the team actually had that happen to us in development too but we never took the time to implement it 🤦. It's definitely a top priority feature once we get a menu in there!

Hahah thank you so much!
It was kinda tricky getting the timing to sync up nice. There's still some major things I'd like to fix, like if the game freezes the music doesn't stop and it just spawns a bunch of arrows to catch up lol.

We referenced this rhythm game tutorial, but tbh I don't like how he explained it or how his code was written. 😬 The one part I did like was how he broke down the timing.
My buddy Declan ended up coding the conductor node so maybe he can speak more on it. I'll see if he wants to comment here too!

Awesome game! Bravo making this in 48 hours!

This is the most immersive and amazing gaming experience. Once I got the setting set up the gameplay was well worth it! Amazing job! Really fun and unique experience.
