We wrote down a full-screen shader in Unity to make sure we only had 2 colors on the screen at a time. We switch palettes to show the player he shifted dimensions.

This is really well done for a game jam game. The execution of the 1-bit design was done in style, and I think the puzzles were just complex enough to still be pretty easily solvable. I think the ring one was my favourite; the way you gave the hint to the solution was really clever in my opinion. My only complaints are relatively petty things; I wish there was a little more to the alien fighting rather than just being a minor chore on my way over to the next puzzle destination, and I also noticed the melee attack hitbox was pretty finicky (sometimes I had to move pretty far away from an alien to get the attack to land). Other than that though, this is a really cool experience which I'd be interested to see more of!
Thank you so much for playing and for such a good critical review!
I do agree with you on the alien part, unfortunately we did not have the time to do something better without ruining the experience...but that's definitely the way to go!!
We're glad you liked the game, thank you again!
loved it. the voice recordings and AI dialog were a great touch. loved the phase shifting mechanic!
Thank you so much for playing!!
Woaw ! Just woaw ! Very impressed by your job in one week !! Your game is beautiful, I love the art ! The ambiance, the story, the voice, all the game is amazing !!
I just didn't really understand the relationship with the light and dark theme (afterwards I'm not very good at English either) haha but whatever it's a awesome game!
Thank you very much for playing, we are glad you liked it !!
Well there is first the fact that the whole station is in the shadows, and you are using a light to proceed (dark station / light of the lamp). And if you want to go more metaphorically, it's the darkness of the whole horror/ambiance against the light and hope of your own character!
This game is great! I really like the art style alot! The concept is very unique and fun to play around with, Good Job!
Thank you so much for playing, we're glad you liked it!
Really phenomenal. The style and atmosphere are amazing, and the voice acting is something I thought would be impossible in only a week. Everything here screams polish. I wish there were more indicators in terms of where to go, especially in more open areas, as I found myself lost quite often. Really, REALLY, great job otherwise!
I agree with you on the fact that sometimes the orientation is quite difficult, as we didnβt have time to flesh out all the areas, all walls look quite the same π
We just uploaded a short guide for players who might feel lost too π
My first thought - this can't be made in just a week!! This looks great! Some mechanics can be polished by for a 1 week jam, it's awesome!
Thank you for your comment. I confess that we have not slept much this week! The last days were hard. π It's cool if you liked it!
That reflects in the game! It was so well done. You guys deserve a god rest.
The graphics and the voiceover are indeed impressive, but the gameplay could have been a bit better. Additionally, I liked the concept of color changing.
Thank you very much for playing!! You are right on this, I feel like some part of the controls might lack smoothness. Part of things to improve for next time !!
Thanks again for playing, I really hope you still liked the game π
Amazing graphics, and such big scope -- crazy that it was made in a week! Well done
Thank you for your nice comment. Our week has been intense... we haven't slept much! π
very impressive, the graphics are beautiful and the game is very immersive
Thank you for playing ! It's cool if you liked it.
Visuals are fantastic. Really love the phase shifting mechanic and how it is used in the puzzles.
Thank you so much for playing, and for this nice comment!! We're glad you enjoyed it !!
The ambiance of the game is amazing !
Thank you very much for playing, we really hope you enjoyed it!
Very impressive game! Graphics, sounds, there is even voice over! :D
its sadly lagging in the webGL version for me - is possible to get binaries to download it?
Edit: They uploaded binaries to run on PC and it runs smooth like butter! :3
Hey !! Thank you so, so much for playing and for you kind words.
Indeed, it seems we have some problems on some computers with the web version, mainly due (probably) to a performance problem due to the shaders used.
As per demanded, we uploaded a windows version! You can find it on the page, as a zip :D The first shortcut will enable you to play the game.
Thank you so much for your time!! Have a nice day!
Great, thanks a lot! :3
I really hope it will help with the frame rate!
I will try soon and edit this post accordingly :P
I played it again now and it kept me playing for a long time xD
I feel like you got an experienced team with great individuals and a vast skillset :) Great game!
Perfect graphics, very interesting!
Gives me big Doom 1993 vibes with its presentation, while still being its own original game with puzzles. I found no bugs or anything, but did start to get a little lost without a sense of where to go next. Still incredibly enjoyable!
Yeah I feel like Doom was an inspiration for the game ? The name came up a few times aha.
We get you on the orientation, we wanted to do a mini-map, a way to track the quest...but no time, unfortunately :(
Thank you very much for playing and for a nice feedback!!
Absolutely gorgeous game! The mechanics are a little rough around the edges but didn't run in to any bugs! The puzzles were fun and the game overall was fun
Thank you very much for the kind words! We are so glad you liked it, it means a lot !!
Realy awesome there, I see a winner game here, the only thing that I would change is the mouse sensitivity for easier turn and maybe some more explanation on where to go, but seriously the art style is just amazing and the voice acting too.
Yeah we get you on the sensitivity! And the orietnation. We had a problem with mouse sensitivity, the code created strange glitchings we had to solve one way or the other...the way is this: on some PC, the sensitivity might feel a bit odd :/
And for the orientation, we really wanted to add a map or a a'quest track feature' but...no time :(
Thanks a lot for the kind words, and for playing!
Yeah totally understandable, it is Game Jam after all, there no time for everything, still very impressive, if you want to fix bug like that, it is allowed to reupload the game with some bug fix
I love the visuals so much! such awesome stylized graphics
Thank you very much, that means a lot!
Amazing game! I love an abandoned horror! The style is great & exploration spot on. Light & dark adds nicely to it and the phase shifting makes for some good puzzles
Thank you very much for the nice comment and for playing. We are very very glad you enjoyed it!
What a treat!
Thank you so much for playing!
We have been blessed have played this experience - (I refrain from calling this a game). Masterfully put together, and we were impressed the whole way through. 5 stars all the way for this. The only change we'd make, or say anything about is the aliens. They seem like south park characters. We're curious to know what you think about our game!
Thank you so so much for this wonderful comment. We are very glad you enjoyed it, we worked so hard for it and we're proud you loved the game.
Noted for the aliens aha! Thanks again!!
Really neat! Definitely fantastic visuals for the game and swapping between dimensions is a cool concept that you pulled off pretty well. I did run into a bug in the first combat room though where I was able to attack and damage the aliens in the room, but after shifting to another dimension and trying to attack there, my attacks no longer did any damage. I shifted through a couple more dimensions and even when I went back to the original one I was fighting in, I still couldn't deal damage. Otherwise, really fun game!
Hey there!!
Thank you very, very much for those kind words! Thank you for playing, we are glad you liked it.
Also, thank you for pointing that out. It seems we missed the bug, and it is now solved (as the game jam allows for bugfixes during the voting period!). Do not hesitate to try the game again if you want, and see if you can solve all of the enigmas leading to freedom!
Thanks again and have a nice day!
