The choices and different endings were really well written. I love the little details in the artwork, but I think the main screen with the graphics could have been a bit bigger. You have made an awesome game using the old-school adventure game formula. Fantastic entry for the jam!

Thank you so much for playing!  (And agree about the images -- the goal was to let players get more immersed in all those little details, but it ended up being a casualty of the jam deadline.)

Man I hope one day you'll eventually decide to get back to the original point&click plan because I would really love to explore every nook and cranny of those backgrounds! Nice art, well written and funny, well done!

Developer(+1)

Dude i hope so too, the hunt for a programmer is always afoot.

thanks so much!!!

I'm not normally a fan of text based games personally, but this one oddly felt very interactive to what I've seen in the past. GJ!

Developer

Super interesting point about the interactivity. We'd originally planned on a point and click game, and the twine was a playtest for the narrative & puzzle logic. When we got closer to the deadline and scaled down on the scope, I wonder of that point and click sensibility was baked into the text.

Thank you for playing!

Cool to see a game made in twine! I like the palette and the art is amazing! Good job! I also like how the story is written. It was really fun. The atmospheric music is fitting and it improves the atmosphere of the game.

I appreciate that the game remembers what you have picked up after choosing "replay".

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

To be honest, I can't claim the variable states lasting through replay was intentional, but I'm glad it worked out. It does make replaying for the different endings easier. :)

Wonderfully quirky. The story was just the right length for me. Trying out the other options was also fun. Entertainingly written and the graphics are top-notch and fit like a glove.

Oh yeah, I meant to ask.  How did you guys handle dialogue?  Do you use a prebuilt tool or did you make something yourself?

Developer(+1)

The whole thing's in Twine (Harlowe). It makes dialogue & multiple choices super easy!
