This one is a winner for the beautiful backgrounds and character art! The voice acting is very fitting as well. The dialogue could do with some polishing.
I loved the shooting mechanic, something I haven't seen since the Blade Runner game, I think. I also liked that panning for gold takes time and patience. The moral choice at the end surprised me as it wasn't used before. Also, it was a bit broken because I wandered off to the right. But overall it's a good jam game, the wild west really works well for these kind of games.
Oh what a nice job here, guys! Congratulations!! The backgrounds are incredibly great, and the characters fit nice to the setting. I could get both endings, and I'm still wondering what is pass that cave and how the liquor tastes hehe. I really enjoyed this demo, and believe this is setting a nice starting point for a big one.
Opening music felt awesome, although it stops when you play. I wanted more. Yeah!
Excellent submission, I celebrate these type of games being submitted where we had so many platformers haha
I'm also stuck at the signpost in the cellar and unable to select to go further. Nice visuals & good to hear reasonable voiceover for a chance this Adventure Jam. Couple of suggestions: the text is very large in some of the scenes and also ditch the mouse instructions in the first couple of scenes which get in the way and aren't helpful.
Cool classy western! I thoroughly enjoyed the art direction and the sound design. The 3d characters didn't feel out of place in the 2d world at all, so nice work! It would have been nice to hear some more background music tracks while playing, but the music that is here is great and fits the mood. The voice acting is well done, but it is a little too hard to differentiate the character voices from one another. FYI It seems we still have the gold in our inventory after being let into the cellar. Neat mixture of gameplay sequences and it was cool to see multiple approaches to handling the scenarios.
A very enjoyable entry! The art is spectacular. The music and voice acting are very nice too. I enjoyed sneaking around, it was quite fun. I appreciated that the choices had real consequences and that there were checkpoints so you don't have to start from the beginning if you die.
I so wanted to not kill the wolves, I tried to use the torch to scare them off but that didn't work. Was there some other way I could have saved them?
All in all a very fun game, good job!
An interesting entry and I am a big fan of Sergio Leone, so this is my ideal Spaghetti Western Graphic Adventure. Unfortunately the enjoyment has been ruined a bit by a bug during the Wolves Encounter. When I try to reach for the gun or trying to start my torch the game freezes. Maybe you need to wait for the wolves to move before trying something, but being a situation when you need to act fast it's kind of ruining the immersion. I hope to be able to play a post jam version with the bug fixed.
Nice entry, interesting bending of the usual point&click mechanics. Great art. I also liked that you can advance in different ways :)
I liked the atmosphere here. I'm pretty big on spaghetti westerns, and this game does a good job capturing that atmosphere. On my first attempt I somehow bypassed the wolf encounter. I restarted because I couldn't return to the town square, but on my second attempt (with the wolf encounter) I realized I didn't really need to go back. The wolf encounter was my favorite part, felt good to gun sling! A cool entry that captures the spirit of the adventure genre and lets me shoot things!
I'm interested how much further your scope was going, as I was able to build a functional torch but the game ended before that.
Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. I have just put a fix up for some bugs around the wolf encounter but I'm glad you found a way to get through it.
I'm getting a lot of positive feedback with hopes to continue it, so I may well do that post Jam. The torch has only one use currently early on for an optional encounter, but I'd like to make it usable in a few different scenarios... one other comes to mind already :)
Also I wanted you to be able to work out how to escape out of the tunnel at the end and head into more of the game but ran out of time obviously... Thanks for your great feedback and for playing!
On my first playthrough, for some reason the wolves never started attacking and the game froze. I had to restart. So not only did I encounter the softlock that has been mentioned several times, but found another one. Lucky me. ^^
I love me some western. Especially the spaghetti ones. You managed to capture that mood very well. And the backgrounds of the game are simply gorgeous. That was a very enjoyable ride. Even without poor Wesley.
Great entry. I really enjoyed the western vibe. BG/title are is awesome. I liked all the gameplay sequences and things you did. They all fit the setting and character. I liked the dual ending option. Wasn’t sure if I missed some things or if there are alternate ways to get past things. (Red scarf and bone went unused).
Well done.
p.s. had one soft lock. When the choice came up to hide/wait upstairs I had no mouse cursor, but I just quit and restarted and the autosave saved me and I was able to finish. Just FYI.
That's really nice gem, good setting, atmosphere and narration. Hiding mechanic was pretty annoying due to tooltip mechanic overlay but it seems to be easy to fix. I got save corrupted due to logging out during animation. I'd sya that this is one of the best games of the jam that I played by far ;)
Really enjoyed this one, great artwork and atmosphere. Unique idea having a shooting mechanic in a point and click game, and the ending was well done. I’m also a sucker for any game that has day/night versions of the same scene. Nice job!
great art! - it was made from you, or from another source? (assets store -AI)
the game is linear and i like the ambience, unfortunately it freeze when i have to decide if the store guy should act normal or hide with me.
Anyway i like it
Hi LBRTY
The character art, sounds and music were from the asset store and the title and background art were done by friends who I owe a lot of beers now.
I'm so sorry it froze on you, you're the second person to report it. I have just uploaded a new version up which I am hoping fixes this issue. If you ever have spare time, you should be able to copy the sav1.sav file from your old folder into this new versions folder and load where you got up to, this time hopefully without the freeze :)
Thanks for your kind words and looking forward to checking out The queer night of Miro!
The background art is absolutely stunning, and I was very interested in where it was going. Unfortunately the option at the general store seems to have frozen the game and I wasn't able to progress past then. Not sure if it was just my computer being difficult or something else lol. Fun premise though, I love cowboys!
oh no im so sorry! There is a save game so you could try loading the save game and see if it let's you progress? I am so excited to see what you think of the multiple endings and its criminal you didn't get to see that :(
I'll do some testing and see if I replicate it. Thanks for playing and the kind words though!!!
