My record is 37!!! I have to admit i'm really bad at it, but even losing i found it really fun! The intro is fantastic, and i can't believe you added credits, it's just awesome how much work you put into it (and you did it all by yourself! that's something to be proud of) NICE JOB!! c:
I need more stars to rate this!, this is the exact type of game i was expecting to see in this jam!.
Amazing arcade, great old school futuristic music and it just looks great all around~.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
great arcade game :)
Fun arcade style puzzle game! I think the sound and visuals mesh well together.
Interesting and unique gameplay, simple but fun, i really like it, the visuals, while simple, are well done for what the game requires, good job!
This game is really fun to play because you always want to beat your high score. The enemy and powerups are great and add depth to the gameplay. Cool idea, nice job!
Nice little arcade game, fun to play for a few sessions. I haven't quite seen this exact gameplay premise anywhere else, and all types of the powerups were a nice and helpful addition (with Super Stacker powerup being particularly satisfying). It might not have as much *depth* as, say, "Neon of the dark Realm", but it easily makes up with a *high* amount of polish. Well done. ^^
Oh, and I strongly recommend learning how to setup an online hi-scores system. It really enhances games like these.
Thank you for the feedback. I want so badly to have online high scores. I'm going to research them as a priority!
Awesome job yo!
Fun Game, I like the arcade-esque touches like the High Score table. Graphics and music are very appealing, and the game is overall fun to play.
Wow, the game looks amazing! It felt like I was playing some kind of a real retro game. The main menu looks awesome. Gameplay is intuitive (although I activated hints just in case). I also liked the fact that I have multiple lives and after a fail I will not lose my progress. Great work!
Quite fun (4/5) idea & realization. Tetris-like.
(also answered your question on my page)
Pretty fun and amazing visuals. Took me a minute to get my timing down to land on each other, but I eventually got it. I'll need to work on my score, though. LOL! Great work!
A really fun game that can become quickly addicting! I love the skill aspect that gradually changes as the speed increases. Also, those lightning bolts are awesome! Super fun and well done!
This is really fun!! I got stuck in some impossible situations, but I think I'm just not planning ahead well enough. I need to figure out the strategy. Really well done though, I love the idea!! I may come back and try to get a higher score :D
Thank you for the kind words! I intend on making a couple general improvements like being able to accumulate wings... but I'll wait till after the Voting period.
Loved the soundtrack and visuals. Simple in its mechanics but still had me wanting to play over and over. There are some pretty intense moments once you hit the higher speeds and get yourself into a sticky situation. Chained Super Stackers were a pleasing sight to behold! Maybe one suggestion to increase the difficulty would be making the turtle only reset one level of speed at a time so when you see 3 different abilities, you really need to be wise with your decision.
That's not a bad idea. Also, I'm strongly leaning toward resetting the speed back to 1 upon death. I think a big part of gameplay is trying to keep the speed down, and once the speed is maxxed, lives get lost quick. Thank you again for your feedback.
Cool concept! I thought this was really well-made in terms of the visual design and music, and the rules of stacking made sense and were interesting. It sometimes felt like the blocks moved too slowly at the start, so it took a while to build up speed again. Nicely done!
Very cool! It's not like any puzzle game I've ever played before. I particularly like the visuals and sounds.
Thank you very much!
Well done game! Beautiful, smart!
I noticed the following:
Good luck in development =)
Hello and thank you for playing! Ok I think I know why the extra man bug happened. And don't worry about the high scores. They are local and not online. For the wings, this was a conscious decision to only place a wing on the side of the block that had no blocks there. On the other hand, this could also look wonky if it is near a blinking block. I'll consider putting the second wing in whether there is a block next to it or not. Yeah, the blinking blocks on the floor reset I was aware of. I didn't have time to clean that up during the jam. I fully intend to get rid of that one. Thank you very much for the feedback!
Fun concept for a game! Definitely felt hyped when the box was moving super quick between two walls and landing a combination of fast stacks felt amazing. I think that's why I didn't quite like the waiting I had to do sometimes in order to get past the blinking boxes as it cut into what I found to be a pretty fun part of the game. Though this is in player error, if I misplaced one box, I could see how I could definitely only go maybe three more boxes before losing a life. I found that pretty disappointing even if it was maybe a punishment for the player. But seeing your impeding demise with nothing you can do about it is demoralising. I loved the power ups you had. The super stacker words appearing and the falcon cry of the wings was pretty hype. Sound design was fun and the words that appeared to tell you the block rules when you made a mistake was also really helpful into getting in the game. Polished entry and I played it a few times due to the high score board giving some context to the scores you can get. Really neat idea!
Really fun game!
The only thing I thought might help playability would be a key to speed up the block movement (as I found myself waiting for the currently moving block to go across if I needed it on say, the right side of the screen, or if I missed my chance to place it first time), so you can quickly get it close to where you want to drop it, but a great submission!
PS - Also loved the 80's retro vibe, loading stripes homage, and the music!!!
A manual speed up key. That's not a bad idea. I'll kick that one around for a bit. Thank you for the feedback!
No worries! :) - and well done again! :D
