A hilarious and fun take on the theme of mode. It was a great time mowing around town and this was an overall fun and silly game to play. Great work!
Love the pun and the game! A lot of fun zipping around! Got a B average! (one A, 2 Cs, and 3 Bs) Got a good chuckle at the interactions between the mower and the cars and such. Great job!
It's games like this that make me proud to be Lawn Gang. I like the slippery controls- it's fun to lean on the accelerator and mow with reckless abandon. I'm a big fan of games that let you impact the environment to this degree. It was fun seeing the chaos I'd wrought by the end of a level: small patches of grass I couldn't bother to clean up and skidmarks everywhere. It's a nice touch that you navigate the level select screen with the mower as well. I liked practicing movement without the pressure of a timer. Simple chaotic fun with a power metal soundtrack to match. Great work and keep on mowin'!
This is my favorite "mowing type" game! I love that each level has it's own little gimmick added. Well done!

It was a lot of fun! I mirror the other comments regarding the art style and vibe, it's a pretty specific older feel. Somehow got M ranks first try but only on the odd numbered levels.
Side note on the slowdown stuff, it could be the windows gamemaker scheduler issues that have plagued the space for some years now. There's a dll fix somewhere that might be worth looking into.

as for the lag stuff, it’s definitely possible, though we do a lot of stuff with surfaces for the grass, so it’s hard to say really. development will probably continue next month, so i’ll keep that in mind for then, thanks!
This gives me strong Cartoon Network flash game vibes and I am loving this nostalgic trip.
Unfortunately my Laptop did not vibe with it that much: I had pretty low frame rate, the lawn mower was pretty slow and each second on the timer was about 6 seconds in real life! I could not tell you why exactly - all the stats on the Task Manager seemed fine - but it did have something to do with the grass is my guess, because on the grading screen and the main menu I have 0 issues. One other thing is thing is that I would've really liked if the player sprite had some visual mood changes (for example cheer when you dash or sad when you run over animals).
From the gif that you provided, the feedback you've gotten and the game play that I have enjoyed in 1/6th speed I can tell that this is a fun and frantic game. I would've enjoyed if you found some way to incorporate "Mode". Still this is a very enjoyable and complete game, congrats :)
yeah, the techniques we used in the game don’t really mix well with weaker hardware unfortunately :( (my own laptop hated it, even!) hopefully we’ll be able to optimize it further after the jam is all said and done. glad you enjoyed it even through the lag!
It was a really polished game, with a classic feel. Felt like I was playing one of those cool games back on the Cartoon Network website in the early 2000’s. The music sort of reminded me of that. There were a lot of nice touches with the visual effects and sound effects.

I loved the overall presentation - the ui work, different screens for different ranks and the score tally. Loved the biggy cameo. I had issues in the beginning as the game was running in my integrated graphics card but after fixing that issue, the game ran butter smooth and the controlled very well. Managed to eek out a couple As, mostly Bs. Nice execution of the theme "mode(mowed)". Also lawnmowing seems to be a hazardous job with all the cars, dogs and water...
I liked how smooth the gameplay was! The controls felt just right. Easy to control, but difficult enough to not be boring. I liked the music too, I thought it fit nicely
The drifting feels really good and the jumping is a lot of fun. Hard to get really high scores. I liked it.
Also nice job with the grass shader.
That title pun really got me, that's really clever. I love the score pages and what they stand for. I love how there's a new wacky thing introduced in every level. Really nice!
The art is beautiful, the music is good, the controls are great. the gameplay is super fun and satisfying. i've got nothing but good things to say. but, this game is a bit too powerful for my PC i guess, as i experienced some slowdown. Awesome game!
Drift mechanic feels great, and I love the little visual touches like the grass swaying and the speed trails when you dash. I wonder how it would feel if the game used the mouse direction or an analog for aiming, rather then turning?
It's a really cool game. I haven't played a lot of lawnmowing-type games. did feel like the levels went on a bit too long but that might just be my attention span being ruined by the internet
Fun and cute little game. The music did get quite repetitive though. Satisfying concept, that is well executed.
I really like the presentation and the idea! It was fun and satisfying to mow the grass around, altho I think the arcady " time trial" aspect of it is counter intuitive with the relaxing satisfying nature of mowing the grass! Overall really good!

It's funny because the other "Mowed" had too little big patches of grass and I played yours and I feel like you have too big of patches of grass! Where is my perfect mowing simulator? XD The controls are great and the presentation is A+. Feels a lot like a Super Nintendo game I'd play a bunch on a Saturday night in 1995. Great job! Maybe could've added a bit more variety or different modes or something to be a bit more than "a game that's a pun" but for being a "game that's a pun" it is fun to play.
