Loved the style, and the concept of a hidden object game hunting for power is really fun. Would have loved some more screens or some narrative while searching for batteries, but it is really nice presented and it's always good to keep game jam games small and focused.

How does your game represent "Power"?
Power-Cut explores "Power" in three key ways:
1️⃣ Electricity & Survival – The sudden power outage forces you to survive using limited energy charges, making power a critical resource.
2️⃣ Power as a Mechanic – You must strategically manage and restore power to your flashlight, creating tension and decision-making.
3️⃣ Psychological Power – The absence of power fuels fear, as darkness becomes a threat, making every charge feel like a lifeline.
Can you hold out until morning, or will you be lost in the dark? ⚡

I love the cutesy horror atmosphere! The art direction across the board is inspired and I especially like the tutorial bear. His washed out hue and strong contrast in the shaded areas give the impression that he's been worn down from years of love. The gradually fading ambient light was great too, and I think you could have scrapped the flashlight meter in the UI to allow that mechanic to shine (or dim, rather.) It conveys enough information on its own to clue the player in to what's happening, but it's ambiguous enough to create a bit of tension. I hope that makes sense. Also, if you decide to continue development (which I hope you will!) I think Power-Cut would benefit from an additional layer of challenge and stress to make the gameplay feel more frantic. Cool game and I hope to see more from you in the next jam!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the cutesy horror atmosphere!
I love your take on the ambient lighting as a natural cue for the player. I’ll definitely experiment with refining that mechanic
And I completely agree—adding an extra layer of challenge to push the frantic energy could make the gameplay even more engaging. definitely looking forward to the next jam. Thanks again for playing! 😊
Nice game, I like how the art was used and how the room got darker when the light was going out. I think the strategy of waiting to collect the next battery is a little counterintuitive and not super fun gameplay-wise. I think the concept might have needed a little more time to cook, but in the end it was a pleasant little experience. Nice job!
I really liked the Artwork, was fun to survive through the night :)
I liked it a lot! A pleasing, short but sweet finder game and the artwork was incredible
Cute little game, nice art. Funny how there was a battery under the couch, a universal experience. Wish there was more to the game, but as an eye candy it works just as well
Short and sweet! Art was definitely a standout.

Quite entertaining game with a fitting soundtrack and very atmospheric ambient background sounds!
