How does your game represent "Power"?
Power-Cut explores "Power" in three key ways:
1️⃣ Electricity & Survival – The sudden power outage forces you to survive using limited energy charges, making power a critical resource.
2️⃣ Power as a Mechanic – You must strategically manage and restore power to your flashlight, creating tension and decision-making.
3️⃣ Psychological Power – The absence of power fuels fear, as darkness becomes a threat, making every charge feel like a lifeline.

Can you hold out until morning, or will you be lost in the dark? ⚡

Loved the style, and the concept of a hidden object game hunting for power is really fun. Would have loved some more screens or some narrative while searching for batteries, but it is really nice presented and it's always good to keep game jam games small and focused.

I love the cutesy horror atmosphere! The art direction across the board is inspired and I especially like the tutorial bear. His washed out hue and strong contrast in the shaded areas give the impression that he's been worn down from years of love. The gradually fading ambient light was great too, and I think you could have scrapped the flashlight meter in the UI to allow that mechanic to shine (or dim, rather.) It conveys enough information on its own to clue the player in to what's happening, but it's ambiguous enough to create a bit of tension. I hope that makes sense. Also, if you decide to continue development (which I hope you will!) I think Power-Cut would benefit from an additional layer of challenge and stress to make the gameplay feel more frantic. Cool game and I hope to see more from you in the next jam!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the cutesy horror atmosphere!

I love your take on the ambient lighting as a natural cue for the player.  I’ll definitely experiment with refining that mechanic

And I completely agree—adding an extra layer of challenge to push the frantic energy could make the gameplay even more engaging. definitely looking forward to the next jam. Thanks again for playing! 😊

i like the art. very cute and nice.

Nice game, I like how the art was used and how the room got darker when the light was going out. I think the strategy of waiting to collect the next battery is a little counterintuitive and not super fun gameplay-wise. I think the concept might have needed a little more time to cook, but in the end it was a pleasant little experience. Nice job!

I really liked the Artwork, was fun to survive through the night :)

I liked it a lot! A pleasing, short but sweet finder game and the artwork was incredible

I really enjoyed the game! The mechanics are simple, but it’s simplicity done right. I loved the music and the game’s art. If I could give one piece of constructive feedback, it would be to hide the cursor for greater immersion. The game is very fun—congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!  I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed the simplicity—getting that balance right was a big goal for me.  And great point about the cursor—I’ll definitely look into that for a future update to improve immersion 🔋👏

I found the music lovely, the game itself is very cute and simple. Nice art too! I would love more scenarios.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I’m really glad you enjoyed the music and art—it means a lot!

I’m planning to release an updated build after the jam period ends, adding more scenarios, new puzzles, and extra rooms to explore. Stay tuned for more! 🔋👀

Cute little game, nice art. Funny how there was a battery under the couch, a universal experience. Wish there was more to the game, but as an eye candy it works just as well

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words!  I’m really glad you enjoyed the art—it was a fun challenge to nail that cozy-but-spooky vibe!

I’m planning to release a new build after the jam period ends with tweaks, more puzzles, and additional rooms!
Can’t wait to share more soon! 🔋✨

Thanks so much for playing and for streaming my game!  I really appreciate it, and I’m glad you enjoyed the art—it was a challenge for me, so that means a lot! Definitely loved the stream! There were so many cool games  to check out 🔥

Had a fun time playing this. The art was really nice and made the game a lot more fun to play. The soundtrack also fit very well. It would be cool to expand the game by adding more rooms or more levels with entirely different environments

Developer

Thanks for playing! The art was the part I struggled with the most since I’m not used to creating art for my games 😅, so it means a lot that you liked it! I’d love to expand the game with more rooms and new environments—that's definitely something I’m considering for future updates!

Quite entertaining game with a fitting soundtrack and very atmospheric ambient background sounds!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and audio of the game. Huge shout out to CHAKONG for the amazing soundtrack!

loved the art style and super fun stress level, the kind of stressed level overcooked gives when my flashlight was about to go out and was frantically looking for batteries

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! That kind of fun, frantic stress was exactly what I was going for!

thats a pretty cool take on the theme! would be cool if the game played in the dark more to make finding the batteries harder

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! I’m planning to release a new build with tweaks, more puzzles, and additional rooms after the jam period ends, so I’ll be sure to test it out.
