How does your game represent "Power"?
While traversing through the old unit, you need to establish electrical power through many different ways to advance! The magical power at the end of the unit is a good motivator for the main characters as well! (we also recommend visiting our store page for warnings about softlocks :>)

This was a very cute game. I liked the switching mechanic, and the power was, of course, a friend all along. That's how the saying goes, right?

There are a few minor nitpicks: The first glyph puzzle really should have been way simpler, but toher people have mentioned that, so it's okay. The large room where Roy is felt like a real time waster - having to go up and down and up again left me bored really quick. Also, the single weak pillar in that room is sort of telegraphed by the bridge being broken next to it, but since the only thing shown to break before was walls, I didn't even consider it for over three minutes, when I was looking around the room, looking for a way up.

Overall, the presentation is super cute, the characters are servicable (Roy, my beloved) and I liked the hints of larger lore sprinkled in their dialogues. I wonder if there are any humans left, or if they were all melted and made into a furry counterpart?

Developer

Roy seems to be a fan favorite so far, haha! thank you for the "nitpicks", as theyre definitely going to help us polish this up for the full release! thank you for the in-depth review, we appreciate it!!

Had a great time playing this, it reminded me a lot of fireboy and watergirl, just with graphics that I thought looked nicer. Great work!

Developer

fireboy and watergirl is the best comparsion ive heard anyone use so far... cant beat the classics! thank you for playing!!

I do not know how to describe this game. It is really fucking good. The characters are amazing. The art is peak. Aside from a handful of small issues, like the areas feeling a tad bland and some minor glitches, this game is damn near perfect. Short and sweet, but you can tell that a shitload of love and effort went into it. Great job, guys! I'm excited to see what you all do in the future :)

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!! seriously you have no clue how much that means to us... great job on your game as well!!

I'm really impressed at the narrative you were able to weave in such a short game jam setting, You're close to having a whole world of characters and lore!! Beautiful stuff!

Developer(+1)

thank you!! we're planning on doing a full version that has all of our plans and maybe we'll dive deeper into the lore :O thank you for your kind words!!

This is crazy. What an accomplishment. From the art, to the sounds, to the varied gameplay, this is really impressive. Such a strong vision. I can't believe in particular that you managed to get the art and all of the gameplay done in this amount of time. If I had one complaint, it'd be that there was more dialogue than tend to prefer. But that's just me.

Readers, definitely give this one a shot.

Developer

THANK YOU!!! i did get a little excessive with the dialogue, but only cause i really wanted to develop these characters in such a short amount of time haha. IM GLAD YOU LIKED IT, your words mean so much to us :)

Fun puzzles! I expected the glyph puzzle to be really difficult for me when I first saw it, but it was actually really balanced. Switching between abilities was fun, progression was done well, solid game!

Developer(+1)

we noticed at first the glyph puzzles were very daunting at the beginning, but its super cool to see people grow more confident in solving it as the game goes on! thank you so much for your words (ps Arc Breaker was incredible :3)

Submitted(+2)

super cool! a bit wordy at times but its pretty interesting :)

Developer(+1)

thank you!! i feel like maybe in the full release we'll narrow down the dialogue a bit... but thank you nonetheless!!

Really impressive that you pulled this off during the time period!! I loved the music/sounds and the character designs, it all really helped to build a spooky atmosphere

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!! we almost didnt pull this one off haha, we had to cut out half of the plans we had just to make the deadline... we really appreciate your kind words!

Submitted(+2)

Was not expecting such spooky vibes!

The gear puzzles were very satisfying to solve with the clicking sounds!

Developer

thank you so much!! we appreciate your kind words as we really wanted to have satisfying sound design as well!

I'm loving the renaissance of chunky pixely 3D art lately, this looks great, keep it up!

Developer(+1)

we were wildly inspired by games like Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and MediEvil... We'll be sure to keep this vibe up in the full release!

Fun, interactive, content filled, very good submission for the 10-day jam. Liked it a lot ha-ha, felt like doing RuneScape clue scrolls a little bit as well lmao.

Developer

yesss im glad it reminded you of RuneScape! we had a lot of fun offering different types of puzzles throughout the game, and expect even more once we do a full release!!

Submitted(+2)

I'm not a gear-head so the puzzles were quite tough for me. Really liked the character design and animation. It was also nice that you could play as both characters. As a writer I also like when Game jammers invest time in dialogue. Great work!

Developer(+1)

when i played Solar Cycle i was also amazed by the very witty and fun dialogue! from writer to writer, i have a ton of respect haha. im glad you enjoyed our hard work!

Cute character design! And so many as well! wild you were able to get this much art done in such a short time! well done!

Developer

thank you so much!! it was a grind getting all of the art and dialogue done on my end, but im glad everything managed to come together by the end!! we appreciate your words!

Awesome game with clever puzzles and cute characters! Nice job!

Developer

thank you!! we're really proud of what we put together :)

Submitted(+2)

played it yesterday, and all i can say is that the game was really good, the ost reminded me of silent hill and i really was worried for the little guys, expected the worst ;-;, thank you for saving me for the box glitch, i thought i was gonna lose the progress, i also loved that the magic puzzles got easier the more you got it wrong, its truly a forgiving mechanic. and the fps toggle view was cool to :3

Developer

no problem for the help! you're helping us equally by playing it haha, we're glad you liked it!!

Submitted(+2)

really cute game! I love the swapping mechanic, the ending was nice too! I hope [redacted for spoilers] is happy with their new family!

Developer(+1)

thank you!! i promise you that [REDACTED] will return once again :)

Submitted(+2)

There's an impressive amount of content here and the characters have a nice style to them too. You all did some good work, well done!

Developer(+1)

we appreciate it!! fun fact: this was only HALF of the content we had planned for the game, so expect a full version sometime this year!

Submitted(+3)

Wow this is really impressive for one week! Really cool use of puzzles using up to four characters, and there is a variety of mouse or non-environmental puzzles too, with the glyph puzzles being the most challenging. The only complaints are; that the perspective shift can be confusing with somethings not always visible making it difficult to find what you can interact with, that the walls are kind of bare, and I noticed some very minor bugs with colliders and animations. Though I can totally understand those issues given the time constraints.

Developer

Thank you for playing! A lot of issues were going to get fixed in a full release sometime later this year, so be sure to stick around for that! :)

The character switching mechanics were very cool and I liked the visual filter over the game as well. the undertale-like dialogue was a nice touch too!

Developer

Thank you!! We did take some inspiration from Undertale for the voice blips and stuff haha, glad you liked it!!

Submitted(+2)

Had a lot of fun playing this, the different abilities each of the different characters had were pretty diverse! The art is also really cool!

Developer

Thank you so much!! we felt like we got a little too ambitious but ultimately we didnt compromise our vision! glad to hear you liked it!!
