Great game and art style ! Though, something made me confused : I have the impression my cactus disappears when I take damage from insects and it happened few times.
Thanks for playing! Thank you for pointing it out, it must've been a bug, but I'm unable to replicate it. I'll try to figure it out and patch it after the jam is over. I'm glad you liked it though.
Really great art style! I really liked that you are not trying to protect yourself but instead you are protecting the cactus inside the pot. With some level design it can easily become a very good puzzle platformer! And a cute one :D
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun making this one, who knows - it might be a good start to a more complete game.
Great art/sound design/vibe! I like how you're protecting something else (when so many games out there are about smashing or shooting stuff :P). Well done!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing.
Such a nice mellow game. Yall did great.
Thanks for playing!
Cute game! Took me a while to understand the mechanics, even with the help page lol. Nice hand-drawn graphics. Side note, I didn't know that water hurts cacti.
Thanks for playing. I think I should've made the tutorial screen a little bit clearer. Thanks for pointing it out. Even though it says the rain hurts the cactus, there is too much information on the same screen, I totally get it's easy to miss.
Really nice art and whacking the bugs is so satisfying!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
The art and game feel are so great it could've been in a full-release game. The gameplay isn't something too special, but for it being a game jam, it gets a pass for the amazing art style.
The only bad thing I can say is that I got a bug where the cactus was invisible, but it was still appearing like it was on my body, giving me the ability to not die for letting the cactus in the rain. That's all I can say but maybe now you can rate and give feedback on my game entry?
Absolutely Loved my playthrough of the game and protecting my little cactus from the rain.
The art is just amazing and is completely what i look for in games i play.
Id love to see the game have a win condition so it has some sort of end goal, but it is a game jam and i know time is limited, so i understand why there isn't.
Overall this was just a fun little experience and i really enjoyed it.
I'm glad you liked it! Just like you said, it's for the jam, and you could see the things I paid more attention to. I focused mainly on game feel and controls being just the way I wanted. There's always room for improvement, of course.
Thanks for playing!
This was really cute. The enemies look like Dubia Roaches! I feed those to my bearded dragon. All in all a simple and cute game. Good job!
Love the calm and cozy mood of this game. The music, art, and pace of the gameplay go great together. The concept of a flower pot being a little cacti's guardian is very cute!
I love this art style and the audio is really good, the only nitpick I have is that the "how to play" screen was super cluttered and I wasn't able to understand all of it, which hindered my gameplay experience. That aside though, I loved watching this develop as it was shown in the discord & even if my personal experience with this game was short, I still loved it. Well done!
Thanks for playing!
It was kind of a last-minute decision to put it in the game. I agree, It could've used a bit more love and care. Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you liked it!
I loved seeing the progress that you posted in the discord! the hand drawn art is awesome and the overall vibes work super well. I would love to see a win condition or something though, so that the player has a goal to work towards.
Thanks. It was a lot of fun coming up with it bit by bit (pun not intended, lol) Thanks for playing!
I couldn't think of one that wouldn't make the development longer for at least a few more days so I decided to just leave it as is. Might be a good goal to add in the future.
Very unique concept and the art style is amazing!
Thank you! And thanks for playing!
