I think the game is pretty fun but too hard for me! When a good thought and a bad thought are coming from the same direction at different speeds it's brutal :) Very fun and silly story and voice acting too
Thanks for playing! :)
Hard & Hilarious! Great job! Voice nice touch too :)
Oh and first play I couldnt control, but once I refreshed it worked great :)
Thank you for playing! :)
This is literally me HA HA! It's a really funny and entertaining game. But it's a bit tough to control the turret. Other than that i liked everything about this game, especially the cutscene :D
Thanks for checking my game out! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I think I'm gonna go smooth the controls out, seems to be a popular request, haha!
Neat idea, the voice lines were a great addition. Having you fight bad habits really shows the struggle to not procrastinate . I do wish that the movement was a bit more precise, it seems to carry a tiny bit of momentum from the direction it was moving towards. Overall, good game. Great job!
Thanks very much for playing!
I'm gonna go and fix the controls to make it a little more sharp!
I like the idea and it was executed really well! my only suggestion would be to either have the gunfire be more smooth/precise or have it connected to cursor location (i was using left click to fire).
Thanks for playing!
I actually started out with the cursor on mouse move but whenever I moved the mouse underneath, it would snap the cursor to the right. So in the end I went with the A & D movement. But you're right about the snappyness of it, I left in the drift and just forgot to remove it!
This game was just like real life. Its really hard to think sometimes.
Thanks for playing man :).
I spent a solid hour or two just staring at the screen trying to think of something lol.
Make all ideas at the same speed
GOOd game
Thanks for playing!
Yeah that was definitely some of the more desired changes, the reason I made them different was to off set the amount of memories that overlapped, making it possible to shoot the bad ones without hitting the good.
This game simulates really well how hard it is to come up with an idea, furthest I got was 70%. And I gave it a fair amount of tries.
but besides that, the art is really good, gameplay is fun (and stressfull but in a good way). and I really love the voice acting, it adds a lot of character to the game. I may not have finished the game, but I did have a lot of fun playing it!
Great game. Keep it up♥
Thank you for playing!
Lol it is a difficult task, I wanted to make it difficult to finish purely because of that.
Thank you kindly for your compliments and feedback, especially as I'm not much of an artist, it's good to know the art wasn't too abstract or immersion breaking.
This is a fun little game, but perhaps a bit too difficult. The visuals and the story is pretty good. And the chosen music is also good. Overall a good and well made little jam game. Well done.
Thank you for playing! I did get a few friends to play test it but we kept going between too hard and too easy lol, was difficult to get the balance just right.
Interesting idea, I like that it's about trying to come up with a game jam idea, that's funny lol. The music is catchy, and the voice lines were great! I smiled and laughed a few times while playing, it was entertaining to play.
In my opinion the gameplay is too difficult for 2 reasons: the movement of the gun feels too heavy and makes it hard to line up shots with bad thoughts, and the ratio of bad thoughts to good thoughts as the game progresses gets a little too high. I feel like I ran into situations where I was doing pretty well, and then all of a sudden large bad thoughts swarm all around me, and it's not possible to shoot them all down.
I think if the gun moved faster and more precisely (i.e. it stops immediately after letting go of the button), and if the waves of bad thoughts were less in number, the experience would be more fun. I ended up shooting a lot when things got crazy, and it felt like the good thoughts were destroyed in one hit regardless of how large it was, which felt a bit unfair as well.
Overall though, I think this is a cool idea and would be really fun with some additional polish. Great job submitting this entry!
Thanks for playing! There were definitely some balance issues with the game, I think the system I created for spawning them was a little too simple. I created a wave system that would spawn with a set variation between waves, but I used the same system for both types of memories as well as their spawn points. This lead to having some issues with overlap lol.
I left the good memories at 1 hit purely because that's how it seems to be in my own head, intrusive thoughts are so much harder to push away and the good ones seem so fragile, it seemed thematic.
I really appreciate the feedback!
This was such an interesting game! I personally found it too hard, but that was more of a skill problem than a game design problem. This was such a creative idea and I'm glad I found it!
Thank you kindly for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
I kept laughing at the VO for the positive thoughts, lmao. The insane setting is very much insane. Funny idea.
Lol thanks for playing! I had fun recording the voices, it was difficult to portrait sarcasm without much context, but I'm glad you got some laughs out of it!
This game is very addictive. Laughter creates the feeling that you are playing with a friend who laughs at how badly you play)
Thanks for playing! I had a lot of fun with the voice lines lol, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fun idea and sound effects! I was a little confused at the criteria for the progress bar verses the idea bar, but had a fun time shooting the intrusive thoughts. Maybe it's me, but I found that it took too long to win. It could maybe use some smaller end points like levels to keep me motivated to play. Overall a funny concept and good game!
Thanks for playing! I agree with you, it definitely needed breaking up into levels, if I had another few days I would have absolutely implemented that.
Really good game, the sound effects and graphics both match up to create an entertaining atmosphere. Great job!
Thank you for playing and for the kind feedback! :)
Great game! <3
Thanks for playing! :)
On my fourth attempt I managed to reach 96% before succumbing to the overwhelming amount of intrusive thoughts. I can't beat this game lol, the spawn intensity curve and overlapping clouds combined with the slow-ish turn rate is too much for me, so I succumbed to the burgers :D
Fun idea and it's pretty well executed, nice sounds and visuals. Good job!
Thanks a lot! It's my first full Unity project, so still got a lot to learn but I had fun making it! Thanks for playing it through so thoroughly!
haha love these sound designs! Controls are a bit finnicky, especially the movement, because of the ease-out it is much harder to control, but you really see yourself improve as you play more :D
Thanks for playing! I was gonna make it more snappy with the movement, but I quite liked that it drifted a little, haha!
yeah it adds to the learning curve, but also the satisfaction of getting it right!
Good idea and nice sounds.
Thanks for playing!
I had fun with the recordings lol, as cheesy as they may be, haha.
It's a nice game, but it would be better if it was more fair. It often spawns purple stuff in the way of the green thoughts so you are left to choose to either take damage or get nothing. I think it would be better if green thoughts weren't as slow. But that's a good game :)
Thanks for playing and for your feedback! :)
