Really liked oldschool Doom-like graphics and style, but I can't figure out how to solve anything at all, looks like i'm not the only one judging by the comments :)

update dropping tommorow

Submitted

After much investigating through the comments in the chat I was able to beat the game!
Great idea, needs more work, but I hope you keep coming to the game jams for more!

Developer

Definitely will! Thank you!

Well, I give up.

It's very unclear what you have to do, i've read comments and after lot of times of tryings things I finally got the first code.

The 3 first symbols on the white "paper" or "book" idk,  doesn't look like symbole/are hard to read. I was like "weird texture" but that's all, plus textures bugs you already knew, doesn't help.

For the second codeI had some guesses wich would make sense, but nothing works, i'm  totally out of ideas, I'm still not totally sure about the last number, if it's one or two numbers I need to put..

The artstyle looks good, and the hand character was funny.

Developer

I'm impressed you got the first code! That was the more difficult one to get, and i should've explained it better, a patch is coming after the voting period ends to make the puzzles more coherent! The texture bugs came from trying to fix an issue were they didn't show for some people at all, so i had to make some sacrifices.

The second code you just put the colored numbers that were found behind the planks in order to the colored books on the main bookshelf.

Thank you for the review!

Well, I already try to put in order depending of color of the book, it was my first guess even before getting the first code, but it didn't work. So i've tried different variation, or idea but still didn't works.

To me we have these 4 numbers,  0 (blue), 7 (red), 5 (green), and 33 (yellow) wich could also be 27 because it looks like 3 exposant 3.

On bookshelf we have blue blue, red red yellow red, green. So it should be to me : 0 0 7 7 33 (or 27), 7 ,5.

I've also tried with 3 alone, I have even tried with taking in consideration the I i C (wich does "1") cause the paper with symbole is beetween yellow and red books.

So i'm still stuck, and i don't know why. Either i don't understand how you represent the order with books, either i don't understand the yellow number.

Hey!
So I tried this out using the comments because I couldn't figure it. I'm sorry!
The art-style is great! I love how unique it is.
The game itself feels nice.
If you ever release a patch I would love to see it! :D

Developer(+1)

I will start working on the patch now, and release immiediately after the voting ends, so look out for it!

Submitted(+1)

Not gonna lie, i couldn't get further even after looking at comments and there are some issues with buggy textures, but other than that  i liked the graphic. Too bad  clues for the code were not clear enough.

Developer

Yep my bad, working on the patch rn. and updating once the voting ends

The first puzzle is quite difficult, had to use the comments to solve it. Other then that its a nice short game. Love the use of 2D sprites in 3D. Gives such a unique and charming look

Thank you!

I recognised you from the Discord server. Nice game, the game itself is nice but somethings could use a bit fixing. Like sprites rendering on top of each other even when they are occluded in a 3d space. Otherwise nice game

Developer

Thank you!

Loved the graphcis, I think you did a great job of integrating the 2D images into the 3D space!! Needed to look for some help with the puzzles, but overall enjoyed this :)

Thank you!

Fun game, I wont talk about the puzzles, since the comments are already filled with that. I really like the art, like the blend of 2d in a 3d space. its really simple but its still really nice, I do wish it was a bit longer, since after the 1 puzzle the game ends, but its a jam game, so its not a problem. Overall pretty good game!

Great game, Keep it up♥

Thank you!

Ok, I had to turn to the comments for the first puzzle, and even knowing what to look for I had to squint at the left book to see what it had written on it. After that I got the second code quick enough. So yeah, I like the puzzle aspect of this, just was a bit difficult to read the clues was all. Overall though, good job! Gonna date myself hard here and say it gave me Glover vibes lol.

Developer

Thank you!

The game seems interesting, it only needs some more clarity, hope to see it updated sometime!

Developer

After the jam i will try to make stuff more clear, and maybe add some stuff, we will see

Submitted(+1)

its probably just me, but i got stuck looking for what the symbols on the open books mean. I found two of them, but the other two are nowhere to be found; every other bookshelf just looks the same. I also didnt know the open books on the bookshelves actually mean anything until looking at the comments here. Aside from the weird puzzle, i dig the art style :)

Developer(+1)

The two other are probably less visible, because they bug out sometimes and they are a plus and minus sign, so that's probably why...

Submitted(+1)

Was also having trouble figuring it, but it was a neat game!

Submitted(+1)

I like the 2/3d graphics, but sadly I couldn't finish the first puzzle because I couldn't reach the fourth sign :I

Developer

The 4th shouldnt be reachable till further into the game, sorry that the puzzles arent more clear :( hope you go back to it!

Submitted

just out of curiosity, how do I progress then? I suppose that I need the fourth number to get the keycode and then I'll get the axe to open the door. I checked the level, but I think the only way for me to progress would be to brute force the keycode :I

Developer (1 edit)

There are open books on the bookshelf next to the keypad, they have symbols on them like a dot, | , ; and C, then there are 4 bookshelves scattered around that tell you what these symbols correspond to and you just insert the numbers that correspond to the signs on the books as the code, then you can reach the fourth sign!

Submitted(+1)

I don't know how to reach the fourth sign in the main building. Really wished to continue. Maybe there is an alternative way to get furthur

Developer

There is, i should've specified what to do more clearly :(

I will try again later! Good to know there is a wa
