How does your game fit the theme?
In Survival Tactics, players experience the calm of preparation as they gather resources, build defenses, and manage their fire before the chaos of each incoming storm. The game revolves around this balance—calmly planning your survival during the day, only to face the storm's relentless fury at night. As the storms grow in intensity, the player’s ability to manage both the calm and the storm is key to survival. The theme 'The Calm Before the Storm' is embodied in the strategic pause between each tempest, where preparation is vital for survival.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I created most of the code myself, followed a few tutorials where I was not sure and or utilized code that I have already created from one of my unreleased games, this was a massive challenge and my animations are a bit glitchy, but thanks for the opportunity, #firstjam and #firstcompletedgame.

Interesting concept, fits the theme, plays well
Great concept with resource collecting and building! The character movement feels a bit stiff, and the axe swing could be faster. Manually adding logs to the campfire would also be a nice improvement. Congrats on your first game jam, keep it up!
Thanks appreciate the feedback, will definitely look at those once the jam is over! I also rated yours really enjoyed it, left a comment on your game page.
I liked the idea of collecting resources and building structures while maintaining your campfire before the storm attacks.
The character's movement feels kinda stiff, he takes too long to accelerate and decelerate. It would be cool if the axe swing was faster and actually matched the timing of the hit.
I wished I could go near the campfire to build something without losing the wood into the fire. Easy way to do this would be to make the player click the fire in order to put the wood in manually instead of automatically.
Congrats on your first jam, and your first completed game! Keep at it!
thanks for your feedback, I ran out of time only had 4 days due to other work commitment but would definitely have liked to get health bars in for the buildings and fix the animation/movement, I will look into manually adding the logs that is a good idea.
Love building mechanics and gathering mechanics, really great work !
Good game, bro!)
Solid effort for a game jam! The building system and theme implementation were great. It would be awesome to see synced SFX with animations in the future. Keep it up!
I liked the way you implement the theme. overall, it's a good game but it could've been good if you sync the wood hit SFX with player animation. Other than that, good job!
The game is cool, the theme is conveyed well. The music in the background suits and I also liked the building system. The only thing I would like is a less floating animation, because this is what players see most often in your game. Good job!
Thanks for taking the time, looking at yours now!

Nice man that is a cool game you got there! enjoyed it.
Really interesting game! So good to be made in 7 days.
I really liked it played all the way through, were too generous with my bricks :-)
Im glad you liked it!
Cool idea and art! I hope you'll continue to improve it after the jam, 'cause it's really promising. Animations are kind of funny for now)
Good job!
thanks Mora4, I appreciate the feedback, will definitely work on it after the jam, I will check yours tonight when I am back from work!
Checked it out, but I got stuck on the boss fight and couldn't move. very nice game art! thanks.
I really like the idea, but it seems to have gone beyond the scope. The controls are quite rough, and the art isn't very cohesive. I can criticize this because I also struggle with these issues (even the art in my game jam project, in my opinion, is not great—such is the life of a programmer XD). However, I think the implementation of your core loop was very solid. With more time, it could turn out really great!
pretty cool idea for a game wished the movement was a bit better cuz sometimes the player could just slide everywhere but overall great job!
Cool Idea, wish there was wasd movement and it was a bit confusing to understand what to do.
was initially going for that then scrapped it for a nav mesh, I actually have the coolest skyboxes if the camera angle was right, had some issues with my camera so I pivoted to semi-top down instead.
Really nice game!
Very good survival building game. I think a lot of effort was put into this game.
Great survival building game, it's great that it was made in 7 days, properly or with the right art resources it could have been even better!
thanks , appreciated your feedback! my first ever game jam this was quite the challenge with little sleep :-) wish I could have gotten the building health bars working in time and sort out my glitchy animation.
Hi, hope you had a fun time during the jam. Didn't like to much that the punching was very slow. And you should get more resources as in amount for doing something. Also you have a very nice menu! :)
Try Tornad.io aswell and leave a comment about what you think about it! :)

quite fun to play, thanks, I did this was my first jam still learning.
If you would look at our 4 submissions to brackeys so far you'll see our first one wasn't anything really... but you'll grow when you keep trying. You should to! :) Hope to see you next year aswell!
Astounding, like it. Now, it's ur turn to try & vote us. Thank you
played all the way through, good one!
Developed for the Bracky's game jam 2024, unfortunately I could not get to adding health bars to the buildings, they all have 100 health and the storm damages them by the storm damage amount several times until the storm is over. So be sure to build those defenses providing enough damage resistance buff to withstand the storms, happy gaming. I will add the health bars in a update once the game has been reviewed and rated for the game jam.
