How does your game fit the theme?
You must gather materials during the calm before the storm in order to strengthen your home!
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
yes, except for some particle effects

Bro turned the 3 little pigs into a game lol
Jokes aside, it was really fun and the 2.5d style reminded me a lot of Don't Starve
Loved the game! I have a crush on this 2.5 2d style games. I would consider adding a green marker to what is needed to look for that and not count the symbols, and also would be funny if a wolf named storm came to blow your house haha
haha we were originally wanting to find a way to incorporate the wolf! Time constraints caused a lot of things to get stripped out lol. Thanks for playing!
Nice concept! The visual style is nice, and the pig is cute even if he is staring straight into my soul. The materials are unbalanced, I wish they all were as useful in a different way. I notice the symbols under each material right away, but once I did, it was very clear how to build the house.
Sweet game! Good ambience and concept. I could list the following directions the project could be worked upon to make it more fun:
Kudos on the submission. Good fun!
That was pretty unique among the games I've played so far. My one question is this: what's the point of hay when bricks and stone and iron exist? It's okay, but it doesn't feel exactly balanced. Aside from that though this game has a lot of potential. Thanks!
lol yeah we didnt really have time to balance it. The straw is supposed to be the weakest but most abundant resource. In the end, I think it's just entirely useless since there is always way too many storm points for you to bother with straw. You'll always need stronger ones. Thanks for playing!
Love the art and the camera rotation mechanic!
The game fits the theme perfectly, our submissions have a lot in common.
Constructive Criticism:
- The levels we're practically similar
- The controls could be changed, clicking next to the pig felt awkward(could be done by keyboard and pickup the nearest item?) and dragging and dropping the items could also be done by just clicking maybe instead of dragging?
Overall very nice project, good job!
I loved this one, the graphics and music are excellent. The theme is represented nicely.
I'm glad you liked it! During development I actually wrote an additional song for when the storm begins that I never even got to include haha. Credits to @Anjroo for the song that is in the game
Really enjoyable concept with lovely art! I liked the strategy of choosing materials based on the storm, though it was a bit tricky to figure out what each material protected against. Adding more sound effects and some visual cues for the materials would make it even better. Great job overall!
Nice game! Enjoyed walking and getting the materials. Though it wasn't until I build the first house that I realized there were damage indications on the top corner, so I just picked what i thought was the hardest material and managed to survive. Great idea! One thing that could be improved is adding more sound effects for certain things, especially like in the storm or winning. Good entry !
Cute! I enjoyed the exploration and hunt for materials, some work polishing up the rough edges and providing visual + audio feedback for certain actions can go a long way in making things alot more enjoyable. Lovely submission and hope to see it get more love after the jam!
That was fun but I must admit I ended up building some bad houses to watch them get swept away!
The art is really cute!
I liked how easy it was to understand and start playing. I liked that I had to strategize what types of materials to pick up depending on what type of storm was coming, actually got me counting icons! I gotta say tho the brick and steel are OP lol. Good game!
Super easy to understand what to do, and the art is really lovely! Maybe if the map were bigger it could be even more interesting? Either way, I really enjoyed everything!
The art is really cute! I agree with one of the other commenters though, it could be a bit difficult to tell what elements each material protected against. I like the strategy aspect of trying to piece together the right materials though!
thanks for playing!
My house keeps getting blown down! It's a really nice concept, I like it! Great incorporation of the theme as well; you all did a good job!
There are quite a few things you were probably lacking time to polish, but out of all of them, the one I probably wish was there the most was something to help me visually decipher what things my materials would protect against and decide if I had enough to go into build. Then once I got in build, I would like to see those icons fill in as I place materials. You all probably though of this, but it would have been a great QOL to make it in. :)
thanks for playing! yeah there were a lot of things like that which just had to be cut. That's how it goes lol
I love the idea and the art style is really cool ! If you want to expand the gameplay, it would be nice to be able to farm the resources (mining, cutting tree etc).
thanks for playing! yeah that was one of my ideas although in the end, a lot got cut out due to time constraints
