This was a really great game, but also really tough. I was only able to get up to wave 3, and even that was difficult. The strategy I found was blocking yourself up there and shooting from above. It's a unique concept and a good execution. Nice work

Thanks! Wave 3 is a really good score,  especially considering the game isn't that well balanced,

I couldn't get past the first wave, but the game has great music and sound, with a solid concept.

Developer

Thanks !

This is an EXCELLENT implementation of the theme! Some balance work definitely needed though, took a few tries to get past the first wave. Also the game lags every time you place a block, which felt really clunky. There's a lot of potential with this idea though!

Developer

Thanks! The lag issue only really affects the web version as far as i can tell, but i'll definetly try to fix it if i decide to keep working on the game

Definitely some balancing needed for wave difficulty, but it's a neat concept! The blocky aesthetic works well, feels sorta like old school doom! Props to you!

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! Difficulty is definetly one of the main aspects i want to improve if i decide to keep working on this after the jam. And yep, the enemies and weapons were inspired by the original doom game and quake!

Well the difficulty right from the bat is well high especially with lag in browser version. I had to try few time till I fund just running around is best choice really.

Overall though I liked the idea of building the base before the wave.

Developer

Thanks ! Yep, the difficulty definetly needs some work. My intention was that the player would be forced to build some walls in order to protect themselves from the hitscanner enemies, but it didn't really work out as well as i had hoped

The shift from placing blocks to axing robots came in HARD! Played and died a few times to Wave 1. Awesome graphics and sick audio.

Developer

Thanks!

First wave is CRAZY hard.

This game has surprisingly good movement tho. Enjoyed dropshotting the robots a lot.

Developer(+1)

Yep the difficulty definetly needs some work

I think that the early wave should be easy. this is too difficult even wave 1.

Developer(+1)

Fair point, I definetly should have spent more time balancing the difficulty

You have enough the time to fix this. And you can re-submit.

Developer (1 edit)

I don't think I can, if i understand the rules correctly you can only re-submit if your game has major game-breaking issues. That being said I might update the game after the jam ends

Fun idea! Pretty steep difficulty curve. Enjoyed trying different building strategies to avoid getting hit by the different enemy types. :)

Thanks!

I love the art style, it reminds of the old games!

Developer

Thanks!

Very nice art style and gameplay. It's a bit buggy / laggy when placing blocks, sometimes the mouse is visable and sometimes its not in the menu. Very fun, Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The problem with placing blocks only happens in the browser version (at least judging from my testing) but still that whole mechanic needs to be reworked to work better

Oh ye that's a shame, I might come back later and download it for the best expierience ;)
