This is a really fantastic entry.  The intro animation is super cute, it's really charming!  Ya'll got a real jump out of me when the lights went out!  Great atmosphere, that house is so uncomfortable and weird to walk around.  This game has great vibes I feel like horror is a really tough genre to try in such a short jam.

I would honestly play this game more, but the mouse sensitivity is WAY to low even after cranking it in the settings.  It makes it a bit uncomfortable to keep turning on my trakball mouse.  If ya'll continue to work on this I'd love to revisit it!

Developer

Thanks Matt. I am going to reupload the after the the game jam with a few bug fixes and will adjust the sensitivity to allow a wider range :)

cool game, ambience when the light go off is really good !

I was a little confused why there were four digits for the bunker code when each paper had two digits on it? But I really liked the atmosphere and the feeling of rush before the aliens arrive. The randomness on each playthrough is also a really cool addition that adds replayability so great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing. The code was intended to be a small puzzle, in case it fell into enemy hands (^_^)

Oh I see! That's smart, I like that :D

Great theme interpretation and polished mechanics!

The game works really well, except that when restarting the flashlight is available straight away. I didn't quite understand why each paper contains 2 digits while the code for the safe is made of 4 digits? (Why not put a single digit on each paper).

If I understood correctly the randomness of the locations of notes is a representation of the player's state of insanity/decease?

The general vibe of the game is eery with great sound effects and when the ghosts come in it really kicks in the adrenaline.

To my taste the mixture of it being kinda silly with the funny opening sequence and the dark insanity theme was not a good choice. I felt that If the game was "serious" it would have been more engaging because the writing on the notes was amazing and got me in a dark state of mind.

Overall, Amazing submission! good job!

P.S. After playing your game I understood why my game's mouse sensitivity was too high for your taste XD

Thanks for playing. I didn't want to make the code too easy to solve so included an extra digit, small puzzle. I never intended the game to be dark and serious, but I guess it turned out that way unintentionally. In the controls I did have a mouse sensitivity slider to provide a little more control. The flashlight on restart was a bug which I have fixed in the code and will reupload after the game jam.

Really impressive horror game with great atmosphere and puzzles. The lighting effects and spooky moments were particularly well done, creating genuine tension. It would be great to see more diverse challenges or puzzles integrated to vary the gameplay. Great job!

Wanted to play your game, but as it happens I don't play horror games (and I don't have a Windows machine), sorry about that!

Thanks Raghunandan. I did try doing a build for web but because it doesn't use the default game library for physics, didn't really work. Next time will try to do builds for different OS

Actually got spooked a little bit the first time the lights went off. Interesting little puzzle at the end too.

First Horror game of the jam I've played, was giving Phasmophobia vibes, nice work!

Loved the art style, it's nice to have an horror entry :D

Cool game, its spooky, I had a Goosebumps especially when light went off  and I could pass through the locker and I felt xD.

Developer(+1)

I thought I fixed that. Maybe I fixed it after uploading the build... haha

This is really cool! It has a nice spooky atmosphere and it's pretty stressful once you're in the dark trying to avoid the ghosts. It took me I think 4 tries, but I made it into the safe! It felt a bit unfair that the timer keeps counting down and the ghosts move while you're reading the notes or have the menu open, it made me not read anything and just glance at the number then run. Not sure if it's intended, but once you've found the flashlight you start with the flashlight on every run you do afterwards. Great job on this!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to reset the flashlight. I think I was meant to pause the game while reading the note but must have missed it... (^_^)

Very well done! I get easily scared, so when the power went off my stomach dropped! :D The way the monsters are made also makes it easier for players like me, so kudos to you!

Congrats and good luck, this is a strong entry!

Developer(+1)

I tried to telegraph the monsters to make it a bit easier :)

Pretty fun! I like that the aliens glow, it helps you navigate in the dark and keeps it from feeling unfair since you know if they're nearby.

Thanks for playing :)

Super fun! I don't want to ruin any goodness for those who haven't played yet, so SPOILERS AHEAD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The gameplay was smooth as hell and I really enjoyed your layout of the house. I was genuinely scared when the lights went out, although I wish I hadn't seen the full reveal of what was coming on the news so that the anticipation was even greater. Lethal Company vibes for sure! Sadly, after my first playthrough, I wasn't able to interact with the  safe again o(╥﹏╥)o  I did try restarting and then uninstalling and rebooting the game, but didn't get the prompt for inspection again. If you have any tips, I would love to jump back in and find those bunker codes!

The combination, location of papers and flashlight change each run play through of the game :) The items wont always be in the same spot.

wwoooaaahhhhh, so I'm a fool!!!!! (•́⍜•̀) Diving back in

Now seriously, but I was also really scared by the moment when the lights were turned off, although when the ghost caught me, I could barely contain my laughter, but for the second game it's really cool, even on such a complex engine.
