I'm loving this! The retro pixel art goes great together with the audio, the gameplay is fun and the overall game design is impressive for a week's work. Very well done!

thanks a lot :D

There’s a very satisfying genuineness to this game. This isn’t retro-inspired, this is a benefited late-80s console game which happens to have been made in 2020. Every aspect of the game went into creating that nostalgiac feel. Besides that, it was very fun in its own right and the settings menu build into the game world was a very cool (and inspiring) trick. Very good title. Thank you for sharing.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it, I tried to create a menu that involved the use of the main mechanic of the game.

THIS GAME IS GREAT! The graphics and audio are awesome. It's very fun and easy to learn. Really, good job.  The only point is that you could maybe increase the contrast between the enemys and other assets... i actually tried to grab a demon... xSSS

Sounds like my last relationship.

thanks a lot :)))

I might try to play around with colors, but I've limited myself to the 16 of the commodore 64

What a masterpiece you made, Arabong!
Stunning polished game I saw so far in this jam! you gotta released it on steam man!

Submitted(+1)

I really wondered this game has 19 votes just!!🤔
Come on guys! it deserves to be in the top 10 popular games.

Developer(+2)

Thanks for all that :))

I'm planning on contacting a few publishers. If the game gets covered in a brackeys video, it would make the process  a lot whole easier.

Let's hope for the best! Good luck you too with your project!

Absolutely best pixel graphics and character design! I really like the gameplay! Well done

Developer

Thanks a lot! Trying your game right now!

Submitted(+1)

Cool game. And quite difficult . It was very hard even to get to the second level.

Developer

I should probably add a third button, specific to bombs, maybe once the jam is over.

I’m glad you found it cool :)

Such a polished game, love the punchy sounds and visuals !

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it :)

Fantastic game! The art and controls are great. It had me hooked from the start. The controller vibration was a nice touch.

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot :))

if you reach the later levels, please let me know what you think of ‘em, as they might lack a bit of content x)

Submitted(+1)

Sure!

Submitted(+1)

the game is so cool, its even catchy at the start. Very fun game indeed 😊

Developer

thanks a lot!! :))

Omg, this is super super cool, you made this in a week? So impressive!

Loved the art and almost all in your game.

Reminds me to a game that Anna Antrophy  mentions in her book "A Game Design Vocabulary".

Great work!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I've read that book! I thought about the same thing while making it hahaha!!

But it's not that game >:)) It's inspired by minecraft and downwhell x))

Submitted(+1)

Nice! hahah

Great inspirations for an amazing game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot :D

I've rated your game! It was really fun to play!!

Submitted(+1)

The hard part of this game is figuring out the controls, and what's happening on the screen, but once you get that, it's really cool and well done! Super visually pleasing and fun to play :D Very good work for a solo dev in 1 week! Good job

Submitted(+1)

Had a little bit of a hard time figuring out the controls, but when you get a hang of how it works, it is great!

Developer

I should post the controls in the description of the game! Thanks for the suggestion :)))

Submitted(+1)

I like the art style very much! The music is also suitable. It reminds me of a game called "Downwell" and this game is also a great game!

Developer(+1)

Don't tell Devolver digital about it.. or please do !! x)

Submitted(+1)

The polish on the game is unbelievable. Amazing graphics, and super solid gameplay. Were those levels randomly generated? It seemed like it after my few runs. You made a really solid arcade game that digs into the retro aesthetic and owns it!

Developer(+1)

yup, it's procedurally generated, but sadly only the first 2-3 levels have the right amount of patterns.  The next 2 are more fixed and you'll probably see patterns repeating a bit.

I've probably burned my eyes in front of the monitor x)

Tanks a lot for the appreciation :)))
