It simply amazes me how you have managed to code this complex gravity mechanics in such a short period of time, you rock! It is indeed a tricky game, but at the same time I find it enterteining to keep trying even when I fail several times, and thats because of those amazing physics programming.
The visuals are amazing, it kinda gives me the retro vibes in an amazing way. Also love the cinematic detail when completing/failing a game, its so cool you have put so much attention in those details.
I hope you keep working on the project and add some audio design. Congratulations for such an outstanding game!
I am amazed on level of support you gays and gals give my. It was my first Game Jam and first time I made a finished product using Unity(I started playing with it in January).
Regarding physics, well it was not that much hard but may be reason is: I am mathematician :)
Joining that jam I was planing to try build something playable during limited time span. And I made a deal with myself: in case if I will get good feedback on mechanics - I will rebuild it prettier in several month span and will publish it on Steam. So yeah, I know what I will do in my spare time soon ;)
Wow, I would love to have someone with such a good understanding of math and physics on our team. Your profile is hard to find, Im sure developers will fight over begging you to join them :)
:) I kinda already have a team. Me and my friend playing with idea to start our own small gamedev studio since new year. He have same background as me and we had a one successful cooperative project during our university years: we made a spiritual successor to BattleCity based on Microsoft XNA. And our current plan is to rebuild it on Unity, publish it on Steam and then go with new ideas and games to have releases several times a year of well made but simple to do and play games. :)
That Jam I entered solo because my friend currently busy and also I was considering it as test run or warm-up before LD 46 which we are going to attempt together as a team. So meet you there, I guess ;)
Amazing, good luck to both of you on your future project and on LD as well. I will buy your game on Steam when you release it for sure <3
Great! That makes one already :) Now I need 9-19 more buyers(depending on how I decided to price it) to cover submission fee for Steam store :D
Haven't I promissed you a Steam release of Gravity Well? Well, I not delivered it yet, but we are on right track already: we have demo up, we will be featured during Steam Summer Festival and you can add it to your wish-list ;)

Really fun idea and great Game. I think the controls can be a little more polished but overall a really funny game :)
Thank you :)

Really unique game! Loved playing it, even the art style although is very crude, it's kinda ok because the main mechanic is quite unique! Of course the UI could be better, but all is second to the main game-play and that's where the game shines. Although a slight "developers hand" tricks were need to improve the trajectory system but overall great game!
Thank you very-very-very much :) I really enjoyed the jam and going to rebuild game from scratch with better graphics that will not relly on my art style but rather on my 3D modeling skills. I got what you was saying about "developers hand", it makes sense to me and I see how it can be implemented.

Interesting mechanics - I like the prediction, where you will end up. However, in the beginning I had quite a hard time to spot the (mostly blue) spacestation on a (mostly blue) background :)
Will be fixed(after Jam, I feel like making any changes during Jam is unfair)

Mad respect for programming orbital physics in a game jam, that's no easy feat in a week. Idea's really cool I love puzzle games like this, nice work! Also found it funny that the game scolded me for not reading the tutorial lol.
Real question is: would you play game like this but with better graphics and with much more levels. Well with more mechanics too, like different hole sizes, ability to temporary patch hole, etc? :)
Yeah I think so!
Great, than I will inform you when I realize this in fully fledged game :)

The synopsis is hilarious about making a hole into the astronaut suit to change the trajectory hehe :) I like how you integrated gravity physics into your game with trajectory prediction. Good job!
You can check out devlog topic on forum(linked on the game page), there is my thought chain that hatched in that idea :)

Absolutely outstanding!
I know the background calculations behind this, so I know how tricky it can be to achieve this precalculated trajectory feature.
Well done!
I actually cheated a little bit with that trajectory thing. It's simulated, not calculated. I just running my calculations 1000 ticks ahead of real time and record points where the astronaut ends up and then literally "connect the dots" :)
Haha, but you did it. The result is what counts.

Nice game! I didn't know you could rotate around the moon without consuming too much oxygen! i've probably skipped a part of the tutorial :ppp
It was not in tutorial :)
Then I was the discoverer of it :OO
Cool game :))
Thank you :)

The tutorial isn't a tutorial but something like a story. Didn't read tho, too much text for me :D Creative idea, simple, but nice graphics.
Well, if you managed to play with out reading it -then great :)

The game really misses some sounds!
I agree, but as I said before: I was not equipped with set of skills required for a good sound effects and was not going to mess up game with bad ones.
Anyway, thank you for your comment, I will fix it in Steam version.

Now with sounds and soundtrack ;)
Great concept, I like the creative spin on the idea. Although I didn't get very far, it seems like a fun game. I will add though, that the target is a bit hard to spot at first, since it blends pretty well with the background.
Overall, I really like your UI. I think it catches the point of the game pretty well.
It would've been more fun with some sounds, since it would make it feel more alive.
I agree, I messed up with target :) Will fix it after Jam. It worked well enough in fullscreen mode, but not in browser.

Nice idea, I just wish I could abort the hole punching if the trajectory doesn't work out, but I guess that would make it too easy.
You can press restart to well... Restart :)

A nice game requiring thinking skills. Would have been nice if it had audio but well done
Did you managed to complete all 12 levels? :)
No, i think i made it to level 3 and just raged quit because of my small brain
Give it a chance, it's kinda easy, if you give it more tries ;) After all I managed to make my mother to play and solve it all :)
Did you realized that some solutions require you to let time to go for some time(lol) and then stop it and plan your move?

Very awesome UI design. It was fun watching the little space man go, but I never succeeded haha. Really cool idea with the UI showing the orbit path. Good job on the theme, perhaps a leaking air sound would make the poking a hole effect more noticeable. Nice simple and clean graphics. I guess you had no time for audio? Maybe update it with audio after the jam :) Great job submitting a game to the jam! Please check out mine when you have time :)
I actually surprised that you liked my UI :) I am never happy with my art, I only hope people will like gameplay.
Regarding sound... There is no sound in space ;) Ok, jokes aside - I was thinking about breathing and air hissing sounds but after roaming free sound sites for some time I did not found sounds that was sounding like those in my head. :) So I decided to go completely silent. BTW - the only thing that are not made by me in game is background stars, everything else is mine :)
In case if you guys and gals will like that game(regardless of it's final score), after jam I am going to rebuild it based on 3d graphics with fixed camera orientation, find someone who knows his way around sound tweaking to make sounds that I want and publish it on Steam.
Surely I will check out your game, I going to play random game until list is depleted :)
