In what way does your game fit the theme?
You need to rewind time in order for the mines to start functioning and killing the enemies and you can rewind the dead enemies to kill other enemies.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I made exactly everything myself including art and music, but used a game engine Godot.

I liked the idea, it has potential! Also, it was pretty fun group a LOT of enemies in a field filled with bombs! But indeed, the game needs some polishment.

Congrats for the submission! :D

I thought the game was good, though the implementation of the theme was underwhelming. Music was a bit hysterical. I like that you made a tutorial, and a good one at that. However, I found the controls were not very good as I dislike moving with the arrow keys and Q and E were hard buttons to get to. I also can't understand why there was a button with a big "E" on it that looked like the mine, though the button for the mine was "A".

Developer

The E was a mistake. Also, you obviously don't have to move your hand, you are supposed to play with 2 hands.

yes, I meant that I did play with two hands and that I personally found the buttons to be weird anyways

Really enjoyed using the abilities & the concept is great!

I liked the tutorial a lot, but I think better visuals to explain would make it clearer to understand.

What bothered me were that I took some time to understand how to move. The visuals & audio aren't really great which makes the experience less interesting.

Overall a great concept & nice mechanics, but the art could be improved to be more enjoyable. Good job! :)

Would appreciate if you try & rate our game as well: https://hadilepanda.itch.io/corewind

Cool idea. I think it´s very unique and has a lot of potential. It´s fun to place down a lot of mines and see all the enemies exploding. I would make it that all enemies on the mine explode and not just the one that triggered it. I love your art style and especially the run animation :).
I would also put the health- and the manabar over the player so they are easer to see.

Overall a great game. Good Job!

Developer

All enemies on the mine explode, it's just that the mine's radius is smaller than the texture is to make it more balanced as it was too op at first.

Ok. That´s good to hear. Perhaps I just didn´t see it right :D

I like the mechanic ideas, but found it extremely hard to make them work properly. I think this would benefit from a wider field of view. The amount of enemies was insane! lol

Developer

A couple of people who playtested it took around 5 minutes to get the mechanics right, but then they get easier. Generally the idea is to place down multiple mines and when the enemies walk on them or past, just rewind to get many kills.

It's a great idea and it was pretty well executed, the problem I experienced is that the letters that show over the action icons to tell you what key does what were incorrect. It could use some more consistent graphics, the ui is pixel art while the in game graphics are just circles, it would even improve it if the circles were pixilated. It could definitely be made into a full game with some polish to the graphics, toning down the difficulty or at least create difficulty settings, and maybe add abilities and upgrades you can buy in a type of store in between waves.

Developer

Thank you for feedback. It's my first jam so it wasn't the greatest, but I agree with everything you said.

This game was really fun! the only problem was that sometimes there were way to many enemies .

Good tutorial, and you put in some very creative mechanics! I think the difficulty is a little too high though, you could tone down the spawn rates.

Interesting game, would love to see more polish

Interesting mechanic.

Very well done :) It did take me a couple tries to get it, but in the end it was SUPER fun!

nice gameplay mechanics, and audio design cool ,

I had lot of fun playing it!!!

Very cool mechanic and nice audio!

Tutorial sure helped to get into the game. Graphics could use bit tweaking and maybe some sound indications about whats going on. Keep it up!

Fun game and god audio.

Graphics are a bit off, but they get the point across. Maybe traditional colours for health and mana.

I found it very difficult, and only got 480 points, but I liked how the tutorial lead into the level, rather than bringing you back to the menu

Rate my game if you want :)

Good job!  The tutorial helped me a lot understanding the game too.

I hope you give me a feedback and rate my game too if that's okay :)
