I enjoyed this game til its last. Such simple yet challenging game !
Pros:
-Sound design is amazing(As i see you took it under cc0 licencse, but still great choice)
-Visuals look phenomenal
-Love the feel of the game
Cons:
-Sometimes it felt repetitive to continue as one to many triangles spawned.
-More variety to enemy types or the mechanics would have been a charm as like this it gets somewhat boring after a while, also frustrating.
Overall really polished game, love almost everything in it. Some additions are quite needed sometimes but other than that an amazing game! Thanks for making it.
If possible leave some feedback on my game as well as i too plan to make it post jam.
Thank you for playing and giving this wonderful feedback! :)
Its amazing how you used the rewind theme, but i have to say that i was overstraind from level 5, it was really hard, but your game just have 10 level so i think it was okay.
Maybe you would make level that looks more strange, exotic, i think you can do a lot with the lines.
Also art und music were very good.
I have to say it was a bit sad that Level 10 wasnt a real level, i wanted to see what the boss level looks like and then this.
thank you for playing :)
since in this build enemies are completely random, it can be hard sometimes. but i already changed that. now they are hand-placed and have constant velocity.
i tried making more interesting levels with lines but they cant be overlap so i couldn't get creative designs, but currently working on that hopefully they will be better in next build.
its cool game with great simple idea BUT i think its dependent heavily on luck since i couldn't find myself controlling 3 dots at the same time there is just no way :/ i was waiting for the lucky random spike spawning to win otherwise i couldn't face the hard mechanic
also it has a bug if you rewind back while the next dot is at start of line they merge together and get stuck at a corner
thank you for playing
fixed all of these bugs, and completely change randomness but i can't update :)
That's great news
if you make it 1-2 player(dots) i think in my opinion it would be better :D
Nice but a weird concept. I couldn't make a really good use of the rewind, and just like tried to get lucky and pass the level
first time seeing someone says that. i dont think you played the game probably you played first level and quit.
game literally built on rewind mechanic.
interesting.
Yes, I know the game is built on the rewind. What I said is that it was hard to use it well, I almost every time killed myself by rewinding, but I guess it could be just me being bad lol
The graphics and music were really great in this game, I love the style you went for. The rewind feels great to use and I like the zoom in on death.
One thing is that the green balls would render over the play again card, which has no real impact but you might want to touch up post jam. Another suggestion is that it would be nice for QOL if hitting space would restart the level.
Great job!
Cool game. Very simple but very effective ;) You did good choices considering that you did it alone and there was just one week. There is some small bug like when i'm in a certain level I can't go in the next level by pressing "Next Level" and I'm forced to go back in the main menù, but this is understandable considering the small amount of time to do it. I loved the rewind mechanic and the visual effects. Good Job ! ;)
I was keen to try this game as it has some similarities to my submission.
You did a really good job. The rewind effects look great and the gameplay is quite unique.
It was a bit difficult to keep an eye on all the green circles to make sure they don't touch the red arrows. Sometimes a bit of luck was involved for me.
I think it would have been better if 'rewind' occurs when space bar is held down and stopped when it is lifted. I think it make the controls feel a little better.
Overall, great work. I really enjoyed this.
i'll check your submission to see what those similarities. :P
i tried helding down space to rewind, but it wasn't good as i expected. but i'll try to improve overall game after the jam is over.
thank you for playing my game!
I really liked the graphics and effects. It was a little tricky though but that's not a bad thing, it's a good challenge.
Really loved the game, with a nice VCR type of vibe to it
Check out my game if you want
Loved the style! It's really aesthetically pleasing. All the effects are perfectly suited for each other, too.
The gameplay is fun, too! But are the enemy placements random? There are a lot of times where I could have sworn the patterns were different between different attempts. Sometimes I faced huge challenges that I was preparing to have to work really hard to solve, but then on the next attempt the enemy placement would give me no challenge at all. I really think that the game would have benefitted from manual enemy placements. But the game offers a fun challenge nonetheless, so I enjoyed it a lot overall :)
I think this game would work really well if adapted to a mobile game. But I know nothing of marketing mobile games, so I'll let you be the judge of that!
Good job!
This game is pretty fun! However the game is considerably more skill based when only one "orb" is present, when there are 3 or more the game becomes kind of luck based on enemy spawning and speed. Also I think you should add vertical enemies in later levels. The music and menus look stellar though, very nice job. Other than that I have no gripes with this game!
This is a generally a very polished game with a lot of artwork to support it! Here are a few things I like:
1) The simplicity/approachability of this game - it makes it easy for anyone to jump into and get a feel for the game. This is a unique rendition of those one-button approach game and I quite enjoy it playing it.
2) Transition between rewind to normal time. I love the fact that you made the balls move slower in rewind time - I believe that is a good small addition that makes rewinding so much more smoother, feeling more consistent and gives more control to the player in this game!
3) The small camera zoom-in on where you ball touched a triangle - for a game about juggling multiple balls (not literally), directly giving focusing the player onto where they messed up is good essential polish for a game like this - and I like it!
The game is actually quite well made/executed with its simple idea - I absolutely love it! If anything, I would like to suggest a few polish - they may or may not be integral to your design philosophy:
1) More sound effects maybe just to round up the game - such as in the main menu UI etc - on death, when a green ball spawns. I wouldn't be sure if it would be good but you should try toying around with it in your free time. What I mean by it might not be good is that it may add too much audio clutter - we'd want to avoid that.
2) Some more content. This is a very bare-bones answer but I think, if you plan on continuing this game, you shouldn't add more mechanics. Instead, you should derive from a content perspective and make more levels instead. Your simplicity in this game is a good strength and you could exemplify that. May I suggest: you could try considering mapping tools to make custom tracks. Who knows - just a fun thought.
Absolutely loved your game and dare I say, you have earned my admiration. I hope to someday make a game with your level of detail, of execution and of fun!
Thank you so much for these kind words and also giving this absolutely amazing feedback!
Currently I am considering releasing this game on mobile platforms so these suggestions are really really helpful and important for me. I totally agree all the suggestions you gave and will try to implement each one of them.
I'll start with implementing more sound effects for events that needs to give more feedback to player, such as button click and enemy spawn. After that I'll rip off the random part of this game, and make it completely skill-based which means I'll make every level hand-crafted. Place enemies one by one and set their speed manually. Also I am thinking about vertical enemies. But it maybe too hard to play, I need to try that. After all the polishing and adding/removing stuff is done, I'll start to make levels.
Again thank you so much for this feedback. Your words really motivated me to work on this game. I really appreciate.
So good. Just awesome. Great innovation and I really enjoyed it. It became a bit hard when 4 balls came in. Also the NEXT LEVEL button after Level 7 do not work. Apart from that awesome game.
tried to run on mac (Catalina 10.15.5) and says I can't open the app :(
yeah sorry about that since i dont have mac developer id, u need to give permission using chmod "chmod -R +x <app name>.app/Contents/MacOS" but u dont have to do that, thank you :)
Fun game! I agree that some indication of where the triangles are gonna spawn would help reduce frustration from triangles coming out of nowhere
great idea! thanks
Cool start effect and concept. You din't think about windescreen x) I could see the fail and win menue waiting on the right and left side of my screen. The tv was not streach out though.
haha right i didnt think about it. and how wide is ur screen lmao
Nice idea man. I think you should publish it on google play store. If you will, let me know. I will download it.
Liked the effects even if they can be a bit much at times. The music fit well. Would be nice if there was some indication before the triangles came into the screen. Still good job though.
Excellent game with a very good Visual effects, loved the music and gameplay!
