Okay first of all - I really liked this game. I really hope that it was intended by you, but - this game was really psychodelic. Graphics, and sound all've beem giving me a really weird vibes. That I honestly loved!

The movement was weird but it fit the world of Rewind. All the "rewinding" mechanics worked really well, and made sense. The jumping was a bit off, but also kinda made sense if the time is all wonky. The murder of old man was something that was really odd for me, because his house felt like it was really off scale (but only up close) and the guid hid somewhere when I was close to the house. This really sent shivers down my spine. But I think it wasn't scripted, right? He just happened to walk into wall for me? XD

What I didn't like was the lighting in golbins's quest. The black walls made it hard to look for goblins. I'd really love to have some kind of light that's emitted from player. would help a lot xD. Also - the maze aspect of that "realm" was hard. And I honestly felt like the maze was getting bigger the more goblins I killed. I got lost in it.

The Dragon's question was difficult for me xD. Because 1. I never heard this riddle before, as I'm not a native english speaker. 2. I'm really dumb. So I had to google it :D

The ending was also nicelly scripted and honestly? Kinda epic.

I'd love to play more of it! Visit bigger world of Rewind and solve some puzzles. Fight more Shreks (btw I really liked this mechanic) and just explore!

Really solid game

Developer

Thank you so much for all the great feedback! Having movement like that was indeed intended to be a little abnormal and I think you are the first one to really notice! :P
The "murder" was a little gag of mine, I had no clue what to do with the old man quest so I plugged in my mascot in the house, basically to represent me the person who developed the game to kill the old man to be like "Yeah I had no time to create a quest so I had to find a quick solution :P". And yeah the house was a really wired thing and up to today I still have no clue what was going on with the scaling, I thought maybe the camera became smaller or smth when the animation gets triggered but I genuinely have no clue why that happened, I spend a lot of time looking into it but I just couldn't find it.

I also really agree with the goblin quest, I should have definitely added more lights and maybe some red glow to the goblin itself! :P
The maze was indeed a little hard when you lose track and I myself who made the entire thing got lost sometimes myself but if you look at it, its actually a really easy maze!:

It was a little hard to find a good riddle time related but I dislike  doing riddles myself as I'm really bad at them so I tried making it really easy to google, if you press back the guide even hints you towards googling the riddle. :P

I myself was really happy with the ending to, I made it on the last day & I'm so happy I did!

Thank you so much for all of the kind words and great feedback! I really wanted to take my time writing this reaction cause I really appreciate the time you took playing my game and give great feedback! :D

If you are curious about my future project. I do have a YouTube channel & some nice plans for int the future, I personally really love huge worlds where you can look around you and see all kinds of different things & be like "damn I'll have a lot to explore"!

I'm looking forward to sharing more games like these with everyone! :D

First thing, really enjoy the funny dialog and little mini games.  Feedback wise, the movement needs some adjustments, I feel like I'm playing in low gravity mode (unless that was what you were going for).  Other than that, really enjoyed your game.

P.S.  i managed to cheese the tree dungeon by planting trees under me just like Minecraft :P

Developer

Thanks a lot! :D

Yeah I have been thinking through the movement a lot actually, definitely gravity, I felt like it gave some really chill vibes to not quickly land but it seems like most people didn't really like that that much so I'll definitely take this  feedback to my next projects! :)

You are I think the first one who found out about it! :P I actually purposely left it in there as a nice speed run mechanic and I myself
used that trick to easily complete maps when looking for bugs! :P

This is the funniest game I've played this gamejam. 10/10 voice acting

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I'll definitely tell the actor! :D

Submitted(+1)

I loved the voice lines, especially the one about minecraft when planting trees. :D You did a lot in a short span of time. Great game.

Developer

Thanks a lot! Its all the result of giving up on life & sleep for an entire week! :P

I played 3 dungeons and they were fun to play! The Ui Design should be better but I like the design of the open world map! Overall a nice experience! I really liked the idea of rewinding the time of certain objects and there is more potential for this idea! Keep working on this and increase Ui quality please ;D

Developer

Thanks a lot for your your feedback! I'm sadly just really bad at everything 2D art related butt I'll definitely work on it!! :D

I'll check your game out when I'm done getting my drivers license. :P

Great YouTube devlog! I'm downloading now~ :D (everyone should check it out!)

Developer

Ayyy I hope you like it! I'll definitely check yours out to! :)

Submitted(+1)

I really loved the animation and the 3d platforming and your Devlog was fin to watch! but please make a webgl/html5 build next time that would be awesome.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for watching my devlog & playing my game! :D

The thing is that I also added a progression system so basically when you close the game the quests you did are saved and I don't think that's possible with Webgl (I never checked tho) but normally I always do webgl cause its indeed a little annoying to download files! Sorry about that! :)

Developer(+1)

I just realized I could have uploaded 2 builds..

I'll definitely do that next time! Thanks for the feedback!

If you are using player prefs I think it works or atleast it did in 2018.4.

One of favorite parts is the fact that you actually added full dialogue, and it's cheekily self aware.  Love the line about how he knows that it's weird to ask you to save his planet right after showing up. Putting a lot of games on blast right there! 😂

Overall there's certainly a lot of work to be done polishing this up, not a huge fan of the UI graphics and the world could use some more textures but for a one person project it's scope is impressive! Nice stuff! Keep it up :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm really bad when it comes to 2D like you noticed! :P

I put my soul into it for 4 weeks now, (I spend the first 3 weeks learning Blender and Unity 3D) and you can't imagine how great I feels when people recognized all the effort that went into this game thank you so much! :)

cool game rewinding trees is an interesting idea well done

Developer

Thanks a lot! It was actually inspired by a GMTK game jam winner in 2018! :)

Submitted(+1)

Bravo for being able to accomplish your objectives in the jam. I thought it was fun to hang around...I am just not sure hwy the dialogue text would not disappear after a while..; Good job, though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot I'm happy you enjoyed it!
When exactly did it not disappear anymore??
That would definitely be a bug. :O

Submitted

after the first dialogues, the dialogue box stayed...it"s not a problem, though! I could see where I was going.

Developer

Damn that's really wired!
I'll look into it!

Submitted(+1)

I love it .I just cant get past the trees

Developer

You need to left click them to suck up their lifetime :P

I'm still really happy you liked it! :D

Submitted

I can't jump atop them .Is that how you complete the level?

Developer

You  can jump on the smaller ones and then on top of the big ones. :)

You have to be creative on what tree you make bigger and what tree you make smaller to get to the crystal.

I hope this helps! :)

nice one , movement is a bit  strange but anyway its not the main part of a puzzle game :) voice is amazing and the dialogue is funny :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! :)
Its all about relaxing and I felt like having this almost moon like gravity gave some chill vibes :)

I'm happy you liked the dialogue, it took a loooooot of time! :)

Really guys, just play this, it's hell of fun, and that "hand made " assets make you really connected with the man who made this ! You feel the love of his game in it !
Really fun experience :D

Developer

Thank you so much! Those kind words mean a lot to me!

I indeed put my entire soul into this game & I'm  so happy it also came out! :D

Submitted(+1)

Nice mechanics! I like how you can transfer the size of one tree to another tree. Pretty fun game.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks a lot! The tree quest was inspired by a 2D game that won the GMTK game jam in 2018! :)

Submitted(+1)
