In what way does your game fit the theme?
You must gather/keep enough troops so you are strong enough to defeat the barbarian villages. Without enough troops the game quickly becomes a challenge to play.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code, music (except sound effects) and art was made from scratch.

This is a really good game and I had lots of fun playing this. I played it for 30 minutes or so and I absolutely loved it. The game is getting harder as you progress and it has such good gameplay. I also liked the art! Also the music was really nice .  I think this will be a very fun mobile game! You did an amazing job! Nice game!

Thank you so much! We wanted to give a challenge, and it's nice to see you enjoyed it. Just curious, did you manage to complete level 3?

Submitted

Nope lol passed level 2 and I couldn't get past level 3. I might play this later because I really liked it! I want to see if there is an ending :)

great game man! very fun game mechanic and theme you chose, the only thing i think would work better to a runner game would be to change up the levels to work with procedural generation instead of standart level design, but i can see why you chose to go this route so great job either way!

Developer

Thank you! Procedural generation is a great idea and we thought of doing it that way at the start. However, we realised that could lead to some impossible levels, or would need a lot of polish so that this wouldn't happen, so we didn't take the risk.

Great idea, you worked with the theme in a such creative way!

Great concept and I really love the art style :) The music fits perfectly too, overall very well done, you've created a cool game and I had a lot of fun with it!

Nice concept, and neat game!  I like it, especially as it is based on ancient Roman soldiers!

Nice game. I like the artstyle and unique setting. Also good balanced. The game was not too hard and not too easy.

really cool concept!

The art and music is on point, very well done on those! The biggest problem I have is that the game punishes you if you don't have enough troops, a.k.a. when you play bad, which is very frustrating. The indications that projectiles are incoming is really nice though.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! When we playtested, it did feel quiet punishing when you lost troops.  But then the theme is stronger together, so your goal is to have as many troops as possible.  You can also recruit new soldiers along the way to fill the ranks of you army.

Amazing game!

Sadly, I wasn't able to play the game, as my graphics API doesn't support the build...

Developer

Have you tried downloading the windows build?

Submitted

Sadly, I haven't yet. I was going to play the HTML5 games first and wait to download the next games... I'll download it and try it when I finish rating the HTML5 games, then!

Nice game and high-quality art, it's cool that the historical setting is chosen.

Haha, romans getting defeated by barbarians. +1 for historical accuracy :D

The units look amazing. I loved the pixel art.

Very nice pixel art and music! I like the simple controls, and really matches the theme. Great job!

Love the roman pixel art and setting and the idea of picking up people as you go along. I kept accidentally hitting space to attack..lol

Quite fun. The real reason I like it is because it is historical though
