I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here, even after reading the controls (Also never give a sheet of controls like that to a player, they will never remember all of it)

In what way does your game fit the theme?
merge the two players to become a better stronger being
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
yes
(i did ask someone to help with sprites but no one helped )

i think i misunderstood the idea, was playing only with magenta, maybe a tutorial o some little clues can help
Same thing..... the controls were a bit hard. didnt manage to merge.. I played with the magenta square and shoot and run all the game lol.. Very interesting idea. Also, for the swap, you dont need two different buttons, that would make it easier and more intuitive. But good job!
If you have time, check out my game, i also have a split and merge mechanic
Summary
Honestly, I had no clue what was going on, it was way too confusing and I basically rage quit after three tries.
What I liked:
- Because of the confusion and rage quit, I sadly couldn't find anything I particularly liked
What I didn't like:
- No tutorial
- No music
- No sound fx
- The controls were on one page, but it was a confusing layout.
- No clue what the UI was telling me
- Art was too simplistic
So-So:
- I couldn't find the theme connection due to not being able to play it the way you had intended it to be played, but looking at the screenshots and "merge" (although I couldn't merge at any time, I tried), seems to suggest that there's some connection going on.
Closing:
IMHO, a proper tutorial would have served you the best here. No music/sound fx, that's ok (not fine, but if the rest was great, it may be overlooked slightly), not everyone can get that in or source it, and not everyone's a great artist, but when the gameplay is so frustrating that no one has a clue how to play it, that's where a lot of issues start to unravel.
The game was a bit confusing, as the left click would not trigger the firing, but the pink block automatically did. It needs a bit more work on making it so that people know what they are doing, like a tutorial. Other than, good stuff!
Ok... Could use a lot of work. I didn't have much fun playing, because I didn't know what was going on. The graphics could use a lot more to them. some music and SFX would be nice. You desperately need a tutorial. Could be more Intuitive, but with a lot of work could be a great game.
It was a fun concept....Has potential to become better.....will check it out later!!!!!
I hope you will add some music by then as this game with music will be so better.....!!!!
The Control Info Menu looked the best.
Theme wise its fine.
Sadly noone could help you with Sprites, but consider next time Maybe some Sprites from Free Sources like OpenGameArt , also the Asset Stores from the Game Engine you using often Provides cool Free Stuff to work with.
Sounds would be cool.
Solid Work, keep it Up

Nice work! I think the game needs more polish (as others have said), but you've got a nice idea.
Also, if you could, it would be nice if you can rate my game :)
