In what way does your game fit the theme?
People are together if they are happy, but there are 2 people that aren't. And you need to fix that by helping them.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
No, we used free music in the game from https://opengameart.org.

As someone who can't play music, the piano was very hard to do since the notes weren't the same. However, the biggest glitch was on the puzzle activity where both times I tried it, the game ended prematurely saying I had solved the puzzle, before I had even touched all o f the pieces.  I also don't really think this applies well to the theme. However, that being said, this seems like a good start to an otherwise interesting game.

I like the idea of the game however piano isn't accurate so it is really difficult to find the right keys and even though i couldn't solve the second puzzle game says you've finished game. But if you fix those problems, i would love to play it again.

Hope you try and rate my game too.

I liked the way the game was going towards and the music was great for the game....But I had so much problem just playing the piano and couldn't  get past....I would like to play the game again  after it's fixed...

KUDOS!!!!!!! :)

I would recommend that the piano be more accurate to a real piano with the keys laid out properly. Also, it's probably a good idea to have the example melody and the piano be in the same octave for players who are not musicians. Well done!

I love those type of games.

The piano feature is really nice! Although, next time you should assemble it more like a real piano, with the black keys and a full scale.

Well done!

this game is promising with a little more polish and a real construction around the mechanics. I really like the narrative aspect of the game as well. The controls are quite fluid even if there are small bugs that can be easily fixed.

Good work

Story wise it looks fine, i couldn't make it past playing the Soundboard, i not understand how to play the song to get that dude from the Tree and if those Notes match to realistic Notes, keep in Mind the most People are not Musicians.

The Text is way to slow and i skipped all dialogues, maybe there was a hint inside the Dialogue but..... if it is that slow, it makes not much fun to read. I think a 7 year old can Read that faster then the Dialogue is filling. *joking*

Graphics are Cute and nice.

The Music is from OpenGameArt and sounds really nice and matching for the Game.

Anyway good Job to putting it together. Keep up the Work.

This is an interesting game. It seems like a very story based game with a great message behind it.I would have really enjoyed palying the full thing, but I didnt get past the first scenes.
Nevertheless its an awesome start to a good game!

Nice game, but I really would like the option to skip the typewriting storyline - it just takes too long. Otherwise, good job :)

If you could, it would be nice if you can rate my game :)

I really loved the pixel art you made for the game, it kind of reminds me of the FNAF minigames! However, I can't seem to get past the start... This game looks really promising though, and I wish you the best of luck!

Hey I think this looks like such a promising story game with a meaningful message, and I actually am really into the MIDI keyboard as a gameplay feature! Something I've always wanted to do.

I was pretty sure I was hitting the notes (an ascending D minor chord, etc., right?). But couldn't seem to get past it.

Is there a fix or workaround this? Would really love to play the full game and see everything you made, as I can tell it's a very full world!

Hey there! I'm yeff, one of the developers of John's Afterlife (this was a team game yes). Yeah, the piano puzzle is a bit glitchy, but restarting the game always fixed the issue for me. Also, going full-screen sometimes broke it as well, so restart the game and don't go full screen, and you should be able to ace it!

Dialog needs to be speed up, and somewhat skippable.

I got stuck once I enter the piano mode. Piano mode is a nice feature, but I'm not quite sure what am I supposed to do. Replicate the song that plays while interacting with the girl? I certainly cant do that by just hearing.

The game looks nice, and sounds are great.

Hey!

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, you're supposed to play the song the girl gives you. If you look at the subtitles carefully, it does explain that you need to play the song for the girl. Though I don't blame you, the text boxes are so bright you can't see any text anymore.

(FYI: This was a team game, I'm one of the developers on the game)

Great game! only gripe i have is that the dialouge is a bit slow and it would be nice if it was a way to speed it up!

Hey, one of the developers of the game here, thanks a lot for the feedback!
