The cutscenes are just so epic! Nice gameplay graphics and audio. The controls could use some polish in my opinion but its not too bad.
Really enjoyed this.
Noice!
Best cutscenes I've ever seen in my life.
It has a very retro feel to it, like something you would find in an arcade. The cutscenes are very funny and the gameplay is great. I really enjoyed playing it.
Thanks!
Real good submission
You made an awesome game! It's a really fun game and I enjoyed it. The only thing that is triggering me is the jump sound that makes me wanna not jump. But overall, it's very good =) Good job
It does seem a little sensual for some reason haha.
xd
This left me actually lauging out loud. Wonderful.
I really like the gimmick of combining the sodas. It is nicely complimented by the platforming, because the sodas run out. You often have to time collecting a soda and then beat the platforming as quickly as possible. It's pretty nice.
The look is nice and clean and the music is nicely chosen. But obviously the biggest standout is the humour. The voice-acting and cutscenes are just amazing. Huge kudos for that.
This is really nice, keep up the good work :D
Thanks! The cut scenes are by far my favourite part
Thanks Andy!
This game is really really cool. Very professional. Do you remember The Simpsons Hit and Run? The fist cut-scene? It's like yours. Amazing context and the music helps involve you in the game. I share what Inmure Games said about cherry learning curve, and the really strong gravity acceleration. Other than that, I admire you, what a well done game. Level designs are really cool! Specially the high jump one, really fun. I'd liked that I had to wait at the begenning of some levels. This made me anxious and when I loose, I wanted to play again and faster ... but I had to wait! Nice details! Congrats! How long have you been developing games?
Thanks for the in depth review! We've both done some odd bits in our spare time, but this is our second fully made game :). Agreed with the acceleration, could do with reducing that and I can see the cherry level being a little too complex, especially with the gravity strength. I do remember the simpsons game! Makes me feel a little old
Damn, this game was really good for being made in a week. The cutscenes were hilarious! I found that the difficulty curve in the cherry cola level was too hard too fast, but that might be just me. The graphics in gameplay were simple, but effective, am I allowed to call this game underrated this early?
I agree in the cherry learning curve!
Thanks for the kind words! All credit goes to Adam for the art and cut scenes! Gravity is something I do realise now should have been reduces. The drops are way too fast...
If you're still planning to work on the game, I'd love to play it after the jam with the gravity reduced a little, since I was really invested I just wasn't good enough to pass the cherry stage properly
The gravity will be something I modify after the jam for sure. I don't think we will add much more content as we want to leave it true to the 1 week game jam style. But thanks for being so interested in the game! If you manage to complete all the stages, there's a final level were you get to face chad flame. It should be an entertaining level if you make it!
Your submission is awesome! The cutscene's were really cool. One of my main problems was the size of the download. The falling also felt a bit weird, almost like player had too much gravity. Other than that though the sound design was good and the game fit the theme decently.
Agreed with the gravity. I also notices the download size is a little big... I suspect that might be because of our cut scenes videos. Thanks for the review!
The cutscenes were great and really made the game feel more interactive. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be difficult or if I just suck at platformer games (definitely a possiblity), but it had a rage-quit like vibe to it. Increasing the length of the upgrade would help with that, unless the purpose is rage quitting! Overall a pretty fun platformer.
We wanted to make the power ups a short burst so that the game play felt a little faster. I think the main reason for the difficulty is as others have mentioned, the gravity. Thanks for the nice comment :)
Nice! this game deserves more ratings! The cutscenes were really funny and the gameplay itself was good. Reminded me of super meat boy mixed with broforce. I felt like a real man when i finished the game! thank you.
Chad Flame would be proud! Thanks for playing :)
Fun Chad, a real man. Nice commercials in between the levels, fun voice acting. I struggled a bit too much on the double jump level, but was happy I at least got to that point :) New powerups each level was nice!
Thanks! The commercials are my favourite part in the game :). At what point in the level did you get stuck?
When you start the double jump level, you go to the right till you can't anymore and then you have to double jump up with the power up (and afterwards go left again). I managed to get up there the first time somehow, but then I died and when I got back to that point, I just couldn't get past it anymore. Was rage pressing my spacebar.... hehe
Thanks for getting back to me! We did struggle ourselves with completing some of the levels
