I loved the graphics, all the attack effects were very cool. I really like the idea for the theme too. The gameplay wasn't super engaging as it mostly consisted of clicking on a stationary target while strafing to avoid attacks, but there's a lot of potential here.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing ^^

Actually the boss has 3 phases and he start walking after the first one. But as the gameplay is broken on that version (see the bugs list above^^") you can't take fully advantage of the gameplay and see much of that prototype. Everything has been fixed for the next version, and adding now more features. Hopefully you'll have a better experience next time!

really cool concept, the UI was super small which was a lil annoying but overall the game was really solid i enjoyed playing it i think its got a ton of potential!

Developer

Thanks a lot and sorry about the UI. It has been corrected in the updated version which will be available after the jam.

I really appreciate the feedback, thanks again!

This was SO hard!!! I enjoyed it and I love the idea though, it has a lot of potential but just needs some tweaks to the mechanics

Developer

Hey! Thanks again for your time, I've watched the video and left a comment. And subscribed  ^^

Developer

Hey Nick! Here's the devlog! Let me know what you think about it. And my accent is not so good so I might add subtitles ^^"

I've put a link of your channel in the description.

Yo! those graphics were sick!!

I really like how it looks. I also think that the mechanics were a bit difficult to get used to and it was hard to beat the dark guy. But I see this game for what it was and I really got impressed with those visual effects.

So great job! :)

Developer

Thank you so much 🙏🏽 Sadly this version is kind of glitchy so the gameplay is clearly not optimum.  But yeah I really had fun making all the visuals and effects 🙏🏽😁

Thanks again 💪🏽☀️

The fact that you were able to put in such a cool cutscene is amazing! I really felt like I was in a whole new world! That camera work was great as well.

The gameplay was pretty hard though, and I died pretty quickly after that.

Great job, can't wait to see your other work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes I love the cutscene it was so much fun to make it! Not everyday you can act like a Thanos or something :D

Did you switch the keyboard to french to use WASD? Maybe easier to get to the E key for the max. Even though there's some triggers confusion and the max fire power hurt you, so yeah it might not help anyway ^^"

And working on the update at the moment! No more powers issues, better camera move (with smoothness), and still working on the transitions between animations. It's a hell of a job to get that right!

Otherwise I'm working on a game with toys having quests and missions in a house! Kind of the spiritual successor of Toy commander on Dreamcast! Feel free to check the devlogs, the videos are on my itch page. Those are short musical chill videos like 2mins.

Thanks again!

The controls were a bit hard to work with, but overall, nice game!

Developer

Oh man thank you. I really enjoyed making it and this game jam was a great experience. Can't wait to do an other one! Do you know some cool ones coming soon?

Submitted(+1)

I have seen in itch's jam listings that there's  an upcoming Wowie Jam, a pretty big one similar as this.

Submitted

Yes its Jonas Tyroller's Jam...

Developer

That sounds great! But not sure I can make an other sleepless week that soon 😅

Very cool! Love the voice acting.

Was a bit tough playing with AZERTY keys, but I managed :D I couldn't switch my keyboard to French.

Thank you for playing my game!

Developer

Hey thank you so much for playing. Yeah is was really fun to make, I felt like Thanos! About the keyboard you can click on the EN icon down right your screen if you are using Windows, or the shortcut win key + space key works too. Cheers!

Hi! I'm not sure how to change to French keyboard, so I just did it with the arrows :D. The movie scene was super made! I really liked it.

Woow, very cool cinematics and I loved the voice acting! Definitely didn't expect this from a gamejam game - keep it up!

Developer

Thank you so much! It's my first game jam so i didn't know what was possible or not until i try. But I think it was possible to do more in a week, but I was going nowhere for the 2 first days!

Submitted

I relate to that so much, first day our group just brainstormed some ideas and then for a few days it was a bit like - well now what? But pushing past that is so important I think - it was our first gamejam too!

Developer(+1)

Yes it's a bit like the Hunter exam if you know the reference ^^ So many difficulties to overcome, if it's not for the love of what you doing and the will to get to your goal, there's 10000 situations were the feeling of just quit is strong. But passing it through is soooo rewarding.

Very ambitious project for a game jam! I'd like to see where this goes! Nice work!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah I didn't realise how ambitious it was until 11min before the dead line.... ^^"

Here some screens of the game!

Submitted(+1)

I think it would have been better if you used WASD instead of arrow keys because it would make jumping a lot easier. It was also very hard to damage the opponents. I also fell into the void and couldn't do anything. The voice lines and music were very nice and the attacks looked super good though.

Developer (3 edits)

Hello there, thanks for the review.

EDIT: switch to french keyboard to use WASD inputs

Left mouse to shoot light attacks.

Right mouse for super attacks (when ready)

E for the Max attack (when ready)

Space for jump but it's useless ( it was for a previous versions of that prototype.)

M for the pause menu

Thanks again, I'm glad you like the visuals and story telling 🙏🏽
