How does you game fit the theme?
The environment is "not real" until you reveal it with your dot sprayer.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Some of the meshes were from a pack we bought off humble bundle. Most of the environment, all of the art, and all the code were done from scratch this week.

Really beautiful experience! I got a bit confused with one of the lasts puzzles because I didn't notice the way up, but I'm glad I could finish it all. I loved the visuals of this game and spent like a lot of time making every object in the second room I think fully covered in dots lol. Great job!

Submitted

Ahhh this is so cool and satisfying!! I love the colors and music!! It's so fun discovering the different rooms/breaking out of them xD

Submitted

Absolutely innovative. Truly an impressive feat, especially in the time frame of a week! Great job, seriously this game is awesome!

This is one of the coolest games I've played this jam, the mechanics are so unique and its very satisfying when you reveal the environment around. Not to mention the ambience is surprisingly really nice, like the music room where the instruments start playing when you get near them.  This is one of the best games I've played this jam, good job. The only thing I'd suggest is adding a start screen.

Submitted

A hidden gem from the jam. Environmental design, art style, and theme are all perfect. Its incredibly impressive how this was set up.

Thanks so much for playing, and for sharing such kind words about our game :)

I really liked this submission! I like how you're dropped into it and figure things out as you go :) The sounds and atmosphere were very cool/fitting. Overall, the idea and execution were well done!

I got stuck at the part ("The wall is a bridge"), but I'd like to come back when I have more time to figure it out because I wanted to see some of the puzzles from the screenshots, they look pretty cool :)

Amazing work, I had a fun time playing!

Developer

That means a lot to hear, thank you so much for playing! We had to do a ton of tweaking to the starting levels to make them explain the mechanics the best we can, but honestly they're still pretty bad at explaining them. I'm really glad you gave the specific spot you got stuck at so we can do further tweaks and testing to make it less of a wall that people get stuck at :)

Submitted

Such a cool concept! For me it captured a feeling of being in space, or in some kind of unreal dimension of spots.

I really liked how spraying some elements can cause some interactions like playing music. I got stuck in the part when I had to wash the surface below me, as I did not notice the "wash me" text at first. But luckily I was able to barely spot it and figure out that I should have cleaned it. One bug that I found was if you are colliding with the wall, you can constantly keep pressing space to jump up. This caused me to fall off the map 😂 but I enjoyed the view of millions of dots from the bottom of the map.

Overall, this was really relaxing to play, and I definitely want to see you continue this!

Developer

Thanks for playing, the kind words, and especially the constructive feedback! I agree the "wash me" sign is super hard to see right now, changing it should be an easy fix that dramatically improves the introduction to the cleaning mechanic. Fun story about the jumping, for most of our play tests we didn't have any ground detection at all, so you could just spam the space bar to fly, but not a single play tester found that. We did put in a quick patch to fix it, and I'm glad you were able to break it so we can justify doing real ground detection lol.

This game is awesome! Definitely the coolest and most impressive game I've played so far!

That means a lot to hear, thank you so much! And congrats on breaking 1 million dots :) Although the screenshot positioning makes me think you found our secret debug hotkeys :O

There are secret debug hotkeys???

Amazing game. The game design and visuals work so well together and the cleaning mode is SUPER satisfying. 10/10 game!

Developer

I think you're the first person to mention cleaning as a strong point in the game, so I really appreciate the feedback, and the kind words! We have many ideas for how to improve cleaning so hopefully it will be fun for everyone, there is definitely a lot of potential in that mechanic.

Best game I've played this jam hands down. Enjoyed the entire experience from start to beginning, and the thing you chose to do at the ending was a *chefs kiss* moment

Developer

You're too kind, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you had a good time playing our game and got to experience the ending :)

this is amazing! can't believe this has only 15 votes... T-T i absolutely love the concept, the music works beautifully with it, the black background with the neon colors are a perfect combination! the scripts themselves that handle that much objects must have also taken a lot of effort, because i have no idea how you guys managed to handle so many objects without any framerate drops o.O

very cool concept, reminds me a lot of TAG: The Power Of Paint, good job!!! :D

Developer

Thanks so much for playing, and for the kind words! It did take a ridiculous amount of effort to get it to be performant, and I'm really happy with where we landed. There's still a few issues but I'm very proud of what we accomplished for sure, it means a lot that you recognized that :)

I loved it! Such a visual trip! I was getting lost and mesmerized with all the spot sculptures and everything is just so beautiful I bet it'd be amazing in VR! Awesome job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had a good time! VR is a great idea, we'll have to give that a try and see how it feels.

[Mild Spoilers]

At first, when the game started,
I thought the visuals and audio were fun.
The true colors of the gameplay came out,
When I dropped  and found the gun.

What followed next was surreal,
a lovely interpretation of the theme.
What is real, what is not,
revealed by dots red, blue and green.

This game is certainly original,
play it, everyone must.
Kudos to you for creating it,
for graphics, I hope you come first :D

Developer

T.T someone must be cutting onions, I have tears in my eyes! Thank you so much, it means a lot!

12/10 for graphics! What a great game. Very fun puzzles! I love how when you uncover the spots the music started playing. It also ran surprisingly well for the amount of spots. The only problem I had was that it was a little confusing in the beginning because I did not have the spot shooter. But other than that the game was great! I really hope you get enough ratings! (maybe make a post in community?)

Developer

Thanks for the kind words, and the constructive feedback! I spent a ridiculous amount of time getting those dots to be performant so I'm really glad you noticed it! They're all rendered with custom GPU instancing and custom instanced shaders, and all of the dot size changes and position changes are done in custom compute shaders. I tried to move as much as I could to the GPU, and I'm really happy with the results. As happy as I am with how effective the compute shaders are, they're the reason we can't do a webGL deployment :P

I enjoyed this very much

Thanks for saying that, I'm glad you had a good time!

I LOVED IT. So creative, I love the idea that it counts the particles, the game idea is different and new, I really really like it. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :) We added in the dot count on the last day because our play testers originally thought they were supposed to "conserve ammo" or something like that. Once we added the count people saw it more like they were trying to get a high score and started holding the mouse button down more freely. It made a big difference, I'm glad you noticed it :)
