How does you game fit the theme?
The way the theme was put in "Lights OFF" is fear of the dark. Bonnie, the protagonist, is very afraid of the dark, so she starts to see things and the path to turning on the light becomes long and dangerous. After finishing the path and turning on the light, she discovers that none of it wasn't real and that it was all part of her head. Then she goes back to bed.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, we do all the code and assets. With the exception of the sounds, we took some free ones from the internet and put the proper credits.

Simple but very cool game!
Thank you!
Simple but very cool game! I really like the graphics. Background music is very calm and fits the gameplay very well. Regarding feedback: Enemies are a little too hard to avoid. Other then that, It's a very well-made game. Great job!
If you have a minute, please check my game too :)
Yeah! Thanks for the feedback!
Clever take on the theme! Overall very cute aesthetic. The death sound is cool. I could have used a clearer tutorial that "E" was action, or possibly a hovering prompt over the light switch. The graphics and animations we super well done - if you look at the size of the pixels, the background elements are more detailed than the character which is an odd choice, but it didn't detract for me. Great job!
Ah well, so it goes with game jams. Thanks for making it!
Cute graphics!
Thanks!
I like the visuals of the game. The pixelart is cute and in general I'd say this is a solid entry for the Jam. Good Job!
However, there are a few things I'd like to give feedback on.
As many others said already, checkpoints would be a great addition to the game since it is really punishing without it.
The enemy speed and positioning could be improved on. The Teddy for example is way too fast, which also in turn leads to a bug where they disappear from their paroling place. It is also difficult avoiding them in smaller places since your own character isn't that fast. Yes, it does challenge the player and makes it more difficult but it makes being hit by them especially salty considering there are no checkpoints. It's cute tho how they turn into a plushy after you touched them.
To wrap it off, again, I like this entry. Well done!
Hey!
First of all, great game! I love the pixel art and the music. Also, it was really nice to see the theme there, great job!
If you want some feedback, here's mine: The camera, while jumping, goes to high and you can't really see much, so I think some polish there will be great. Also, you have to find a way to tell the player, visually, what objects he can collide with. For example at one point in the level there was a drawer down and one up, with one I was able to collide but not with the other.
Nonetheless, you did an amazing job with the game. I love the fact that you made it alone, congrats!
I would love to have you playing mine too, if you don't mind of course! ^_^
We actually made the with 3 people, but thanks for the your feedback, i hadn't thought about the camera but what you said really makes sense.
No problem! I hope you can check my game too, it means a lot!
very cool and challenging! the controls are nice, but checkpoints would make it better, but it's a game jam after all, so no worries :3
overall, great job! :D
Thanks for playing! We are happy for the feedback! We try to avoid such errors in future gamejams.
Nice work! I think some extra checkpoints would making it a smoother experience in some parts, but good stuff overall!
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice
A simple, nice, and fun game. The idea of "invincibility after hit" applied not to the player, but the enemy is really creative and unique.
Thanks!
I liked the take on the theme and how upon being hit the enemies are revealed for what they truly are thought that was a neat idea. The teddy bears were a little hard and on some playthrough would disappear if they left the players view (which at some point was a relief being on one heart haha) All together really nicely done :)
I loved the game. some areas were hard to pass but overall great job!
Thanks!!
Nice game, some Teddy Bears were hard to pass... and I died more than once (yep not a true gamer) and maybe you don't want another comment about the checkponits haha.
Anyway, good game and great job :)
Haha we don't know that the game would have some difficulty, thank you for the feedback!
I just rated your game, maybe you can do the same on mine ^_^
It's a really cute game with a great atmosphere. I hope seeing you in next jams! ^^
Thank you very much! I'm very glad you liked it! Hope to see you at the next Jams too!
Teddy Bears were quite hard, but I managed to clear the game. I wish there were checkpoints on certain areas so we don't turn back to start. Also, you need to display text on an interactive object, I just clicked randomly everywhere until I was able to pass to the lighted room (I had one heart and I jumped over and over again from rabbit to not die :D) Good job!
You aren't the first who comment about a checkpoint. We'll try to work in this type of thing for a next time.
Thank you for the feedback!
Rated !!! would you kindly rate mine too!?, I'd really appreciate it if you do, Thanks!
here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1415313
The idea was so good and I loved how you implemented it! Being hit by an enemy for the first time to see it is just a plush was very cool!
Its great to read that, thank you!
Very good for just 3 days! Love the art!
Thank you for the feedback! It was really tricky to finish on time.
Charming art. I think that some more contrasts between what's a platform and what isn't would help with the readability, but overall nice job!
We appreciate your feedback! We'll keep that in mind for a next time.
