How does you game fit the theme?
Well I guess

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I did everything myself except for sound and music. I used CC0 assets for that.

Great game and nice idea. I cleaned up in rhythm! :)

Nice idea. Shame I couldn't experience it fully in the browser.

Nice take on the theme

Nice idea! Once I understood what was happening to the sea creatures (at first I thought they were buggy with that back and forth movement) I freed all of them.

Managed to clean 30 pieces, I thought the collider to get the trash felt a bit weird, but since there was a lot I always managed to pick something.

The movement of the diver felt a bit juddery, it usually happens when you move a rigid body outside of the fixed update loop the physics use in Unity, but since you used Godot I have no clue what could cause. It's a very minor thing anyway.

The graphics were alright, I liked the wavy effect of the screen to give the underwater feel.

The songs and audio effects were alright, but maybe there could be something more upbeat when you freed the animals?

Overall I found it a nice little game. Could be expanded in some ways, like allowing the diver to get more oxygen, fishes getting "re-trapped" by falling junk. Stuff like that! Also, on the credits in the main screen you mention art with quotes. I wouldn't use those quotes! It's art still and far better than most of us programmers can create in a timely manner! Congratulations!

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed feedback. Much appreciated.

Here are some things on my "if I have time left i will implement"-list:

  • rotate the character when diving up- and down
  • Fish getting tangled up again when hit by garbage
  • way less oxygen but a refill station
  • sound effects / victory music for freeing sea creatures
  • more skins for garbage and sea creatures
  • underwater scooters for brief speed boosts
  • fix the hole next to the trash can rock
  • more levels
  • animated bag with fill progress bar
  • Improve delivery animation
  • Display message when you're in interaction reach with fish/garbage/trash can
  • SHARKS
  • learn how to properly skeleton-rig the main character

Now, I probably won't have the motivation to do all this when the jam is over

Fits the theme as the sea creatures also help you to clean the trash. Good job!

I loved the game concept but the movement could use some work

Fun little game! At first I was like "why aren't the fishes giving me points for freeing them?", but then I realized that they help you clean the ocean as well! Cool concept! Good job!

Great game, obviously with some better art and polishing it would be better. Other than that good job!

Really cool game with a meaningful message,

I like the water distortion effect and the art looks really nice.  Moving the character in some areas felt weird but I read about recreating the level multiple times. Maybe it just needed fiddling with the colliders.

All in all, I liked it.  Good job!

As a huge beach goer, this game already holds a special place in my heart! Such an important thing that we always need to be aware of. Awesome game! bonus points for sea turtles!!

Nice game with a great message behind it! I had fun playing it

From the menu the music made me want to play.

I really like the distortion effect due to the water. Great job!

But above all I liked your interpretation of the theme the most! Very original and totally in agreement with my convictions. If young people had more game proposals like yours, we could start to change mentalities!

A big congratulations to you!
