How does your game fit the theme?
With an old kingdom meeting its end, a new legacy must be started from the ground up. With the help of your trusted advisor, manage an array of people that wish to work for you while listening to nice, calming music!
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
all code from the sractch but I used paid unity asset store

The idea is cool and unique as a mini management game, where you just need to focus the HR part of the town management. I'm a little confused about how things work as how to fire someone, who are actually doing what , eg who created what each turn. And I hope to get more information about each character to help me decide if I want to keep hiring him or fire him later.
Any way I think this concept is very potential! Would love to see a more complete game of this!
BTW really like the bell haha.
Wow, what a jam entry!
There's a lot to like. Controls are intuitive - "what's this bell for?" Well, it's the only thing in front of you and you can't move, so... it doesn't take long to figure out that you should try it! Things like the sell mechanic being added by just plopping a new item onto your table was very fluid.
I really enjoyed interviewing people. There was more depth than usual to the consequences of my decisions vs. most game jam entries. E.g. you can just *not hire tutorial guy* and completely remove the advice mechanic from the rest of your playthrough. Very ambitious design!
I found a few softlock states (if you don't hire anyone Day 1, you can't progress but don't lose) and a couple of "your best effort's not good enough" situations (if you roll a bad Knight you can lose the Day 2 battle despite hiring everyone beneficial to your performance in that fight). I think these sorts of things are to be expected.
Overall the only place I slammed this entry is on theme; technically the writing fits (the king is dead, long live the king) but you don't engage with it in any way during the gameplay.
Thanks for the game!
Thank you so much for taking your time to write this well detailed feedback. I really appreciate it. I really been stuck with idea of hiring mechanics and it just so happen that game jam is a really good place to validate that concept. What you just said really means a lot to us, especially me so thank you once again :)
Was a bit much to wrap my head around at first, but once I got the hang of it was a really good time! Adding a tutorial of sorts could be useful by having a couple key characters show up that you have to buy, and then gradually give the player more freedom to hire and fire who they choose as it goes on. Really great work though!
I got a consistent bug where I couldn't interact with the second NPC (and thus couldn't progress) in the webgl build. I do really like the concept of this game. The music fit very well, but I found a lot of the text hard to read. Having the medieval text for just headings instead of the entire resume would help a lot. I also tried the mac build but couldn't get it to open, even with the terminal trick. If you end up updating the game, I'd love to give it another try :)
Hello sorry to hear your bad experience. Have you tried clicking the bell? I add a details that they will only come to you and interact when you call them by clicking the bell. As for the mac, it is really a hard issue to fix because of apple security for unknown developer. In order for me to fix this, I need a developer license for apple. However, we could do an alternate : could you perhaps can try to follow this
The desk is completely bare for me. No bell or anything!
In terms of the tutorial, when I tried downloading the game it wouldn't even open that far. I got no popup and I couldn't find it in my privacy settings. Not sure what happened there, since I've never seen that before. I have downloaded things from unidentified devs in the past and have dealt with it the way the video showed. That was not the issue I was experiencing.
Really like it. It could be a nice addition to have a detailed finance report.
That was a cool idea having the player decide who to hire based on resumes and such. The randomizing of stats was a bit of a troll thing sometimes (first and third playthrough the first knight was a beast, but the second he was made of wet tissue paper, and my third playthrough I fought a poison bomb with like 50 atk that wiped me in no time flat). But balance consistency aside, this was fun enough for me to keep trying, and I really liked the model for the dragon. Feel free to check out my game too!
Interesting concept, I failed really badly though, I was so poor XD. Overall nice game, only if I was good at it.
Sweet entry! :) Well made assets, game loop and enimies, and the idea/concept was really cool :)
I would only say it's.. not a bad font in that sense it's not suited for the genre, but I just thought it was hard to read while it was a lot of text as well. Maybe just me, but anyways: great job!
Really cool concept and a satisfying gameplay loop. Reminds me a lot of Papers Please. Really impressed with how you managed to make this in only 7 days. My only advice would be that the UI could be a bit more clear and the text easier to read. Other than that great work!
a very good game that I look at and understand that this is what I would like more in my game, the game offers great graphics innovation
I love the low poly look, and fun gameplay! Try out my game!
I really like the concept behind this game, from the line up of people looking for work to the battling itself. With the little details like the bell to add to it, makes the game look more grand in the long run. I really like bigger details as well like the stories behind the characters, and and the advisor.
Very good entry
