How does your game fit the theme?
Whenever you die (an end), you take the body of whatever killed you (a new beginning).
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the assets are from scratch but some of the mouse code is from a Pico-8 Forum.

Fun game. The controls could have been better, but I really liked the pixel art. Also the main menu music was really irritating for me. And there's a bug when you can pause in the main menu too.
It didn't have the best tutorial so I failed to understand how to fight at first not to mention the need for n and m for interacting wasn't really necessary, you could have just had n or m and not both. Otherwise it is a fun little game with an interesting concept, if you could choose who you can spawn as when you die and know the strengths and weaknesses of each character would make it even more interesting.
Cool concept! There's something really satisfying to a game that incorporates death into the gameplay and you did a great job doing that! I think the controls were a little unintuitive but it seems like you already know that, and I think a few more levels to really feel the difference of those upgrades would be awesome. Great job!
Hey fun game! I thought the concept was cool and if you even expanded it to a full game you could have so many badguys and it could be strategic to lose to certain enemies to get their abilities or something! My only feedback would be if the mouse can click that fast, lower the pitch of the shooting sound so it's not quite as piercing! Overall, great work!
I WON but at what price??? Mouse NEEDS some clicking limit.
Game was fun, controls were super crappy. I stayed and undead wolf until the end because his barking would do damage... 10/10
Thanks! I know that the controls were crap it was an error that happened when transferring the game to html from pico 8.
I like the art style and the overall theme. I think it would be much better if it was more balanced, the enemies just spam projectiles and the game can end very quickly, because of that. Nice job though :)
Well, it's meant to be sort of a bullet hell. Would a dash move help with that problem?
That was a little bit hard to play, but interesting and challenging
Nice arcade feel to the game in terms of mini-pixel art and music! Reminded me a little of Only One. Got a bit confused at the start because of the mouse cursor, which didn't select anything for me.
The controls were completely different than what it said but once i figured them out, this was a nice entry with interesting mechanics and a cool boss fight
Cool game. Good work!
Really interesting story and challenging, but fun gameplay. Well done!
Always good to see Pico-8 entries - well done!
Your game has a really interesting idea! I also really enjoyed the music and art
Nice game. I enjoyed the three character to choose from to be the king and coming back in a new body. Took me a bit to figure out the keys with the help of your game page. Well done low res game.
fun game, i like that you used pico-8 as the game engine and idea of changing bodies is pretty cool
A good classic game, had some fun playing it
Fun game! But I wish it was longer and had more smoother control. Give my game a try!
super fun to play! controls were a bit wanky at times, but hey, from experience, - I guess that happens when you respawn as a new king! really fun boss battle, that dragon was a killer! GG!
This is a banger of a game and is criminally underrated. Absolutely amazing job on this one. My only gripe is that I wish it was longer, but of course I understand why it isn't. Again- fantastic job.
Thank you so much!
