How does everyone feel about their submission?

Personally, I feel really good about mine. I think it ended up pretty close to what I imagined, and I definitely worked down to the last few hours to get it done. It was stressful but I think it ended up pretty good and I got to experiment with tons of new things (Art style, Music, Game feel). Anyways I had a lot of fun, it's been a while since I participated in a jam because of my large-scale game I have been working on.

We tried to create a new Pirate Rouge-like Mechanic and I think we nailed it! But there are plenty of room to improve and diversify it!

Interesting! Yeah, with game jams there is always room for improvement but what counts is that we got something finished. Anyway I will have to check out your game later!

I am SUPER proud of my team's work. Our game is complete, we have 15min OST and original graphics. Gamelay is relaxing and difficulty is adjustable. I am worried that people won't download and test our game because of its huge size (idk why it's so big).

Game Jam was an interesting experience. I have never worked so much during one week period.

Also my Unity skills have improved by A LOT.

Here's our game: REGROW

Sounds amazing! Yeah, jams really tire me out as well. But it all pays off in the end!

I'm really happy with how my jam ended up, definitely pretty tired out sa well, but that's part of the Jam fun !

I found 3 days within the week to create my game, and got to experience a new artistic direction in 2.5D, definitely learned new ways of handling art and mechanics at a design level.

Here's my game, in my opinion it's fun and satisfying, but that may just be me patting my back :D

Congratulations! Yeah, I have never worked with 2.5D before but would love to try it out someday!

Switching the camera angle definitely sets a unique vibe, would recommend trying !

This is our first jam. We are all beginners and we are surprised we even created a complete game loop. Nothing is perfect, and we submitted literally at 5:55am. Also it is really fun to throw shade on old operating systems and the life that every programmers go through everyday in our game.

Good job for completing your first jam! Yup, game development is tough but rewarding. I can't imagine how stressful that must have been.

i overscoped a little and wasn't able to add small improvement details. I am just happy to have finished

I feel pretty good. I expected more 3d games but my game seems to be one of the only 3d games out here. I have only seen one 3d game and half 3d games. One was called metropolis (half 3d) which was very good.

Well, I'm right with you then, my game is 3D too :D But yes, I agree it would be nice to see some more 3D games, although I love 2D games too.

Could you play my game and review it?

I think mine turned out pretty good! Managed to meet the goals I'd set at the beginning of the jam, and it came out looking and feeling pretty nice in my humble opinion =D

Check it out if you haven't seen er yet, and let me know what you think:

Im pretty proud of what I accomplished, even tho a few things I wanted to add didn't make it. I think that this is the best game I made so far, since I have learned a lot about game design and more. And since I'm really young in comparison to the other contestant and I was working solo, I think I did a good job on this jam.

Yup time is definitely really difficult to manage during game jams, but it also gives us lots of room to learn!

To be honest when the jam started I was really lost. I had no creative or interesting ideas and none that got me excited. I also wasn't a huge fan of the theme which made it harder at concept stage.

Then we started working on it and even after three or four days we kept asking ourselves, "is this even fun?" We were unsure. It wasn't until we were pulling the super late nights towards the end of the jam that we felt we were doing alright.

So we submitted the game and... People seem to love it! It's really rewarding and a good lesson that sometimes you might feel like you're lost or struggling but that doesn't mean that what you create is always going to be bad.

So how did the jam go? Okay, I guess!

That's amazing! It is always nice to see someone else's perspective on things. Personally, for my game, the features that I thought were the worst, a lot of people seemed to enjoy not knowing it was a mistake on my end. Contrary, things that I believed weren't too big of a problem or something that people wouldn't notice got more suggestions, which I am very happy for. Getting constructive feedback whether it's good or bad really lets you know that people actually took the time to play your game.  Anyways congratulations again for sticking through it and ending up with a great game!

Overall, I felt good about mine. A friend did the artwork, and I think he did a really nice job on it. I did the programming and the soundtrack, and my dad helped with the concept design. The game is a card game kind of like Stacklands(by sokpop), which was something I hadn't tried before. It was challenging, but I think the end result was nice, but sadly confusing to players. A long winded explanation to say very little to be sure, but there it is. Here's the game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-9/rate/1933107

Good job :D It's always more fun and interesting working with others! Yeah, I have had that problem with some of my games in the past. Sometimes we get so used to playing our own games that we forget what the experience will look like to a new player. But what matters is that you made a fully functional game. And I bet a short tutorial, even in the description of the game could help players understand better if you haven't put one in already. Anyways congratulations again for submitting!
