I really liked the game, it's just amazing, for me its best part is the music and its sounds
I loved the art and particle effects. The game felt fast paced, and was very approchable.
Holy hell this is a cool entry !
I really like the instant action as soon as you choose your room, the concept of having it shring any time you take a hit is very unique and is a nice take on the theme.
The spritework even though they are tiny have got some character to them cause of how they're animated, bullet patterns do get quite tough but feel managable.
And the tradeoff upgrade system is a nice idea though it does make for some very tough choices.
The music is an absolute ultra banger \m/ è_é
To sum things up i'd say solid overall, quite a bit of polish and juicy feedback for a jam game.
Congrats ! Especially for a solo effort, you did great :D
Took me some time to get to this submission, but I'm glad I did! Very polished entry with crisp and precise controls, proper game feel, scary monsters and nice sprites (pun intended xD). Music was spot on, action felt very action-y, and the idea of upgrades having a downside was interesting. Seeing so many games with a small area to play in (that in many cases shrinks as well), it feels a bit old already and restricts the player movement a bit too much in my opinion. A good fix for this would be that maybe in the beginning the area size would be full screen, and would slowly shrink as time goes by, so you'd have to kill enemies as fast as possible. Just a thought, though. Overall, I had a blast and this was very fun!
We'd appreciate if you had time to check out our submission as well! :)
I think making the map smaller on hit instead of a healthbar is really clever and fits the theme perfectly. Well done congrats on the entry! It's very hard lol
Wow, this perfectly fit the theme. My play area ended up so small xD
So well made!
The upgrade mechanic has its twists! BEWARE!!! The audio was really well made, and I love the take on the theme! Really cool art as well! One of the best :D
THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!! Def one of my favs!!!!!!! I LOVE the upgrade mechanic!!!!! Any game that will give me upgrades that are "cursed" is an instant 5 star!!!! Not to mention the bullet patterns, the fun cartoony style -- this game is just too good! If you're reading this and you haven't tried it yet, WHAT ARE YOU DOING????
My favorite so far! The music is DOPE, the gameplay is really really fun and addictive. I spent way too much time on this game lol. The card system is super cool, and the integration of the theme is neat! Very solid entry, congrats!
Really great idea for an approach to player health and the theme as well! Really challenging but easy to get into, and the gameplay is nice and snappy. I especially like the rouge-like elements such as the upgrade-downgrade system at the end of each wave. Music is great too!
If I had to point out something it would be minor issues with bullets. Sometimes enemies would shoot them when the player was right next to them, leaving very little time to react. this could maybe be fixed through a quick tell before an enemy shoots.
That's a very minor problem though, the game is a really fun arcade shooter and has a great take and variation on the theme! nice work, maybe one of the best from the jam, but I've yet to play other games!
Brilliant use of the theme, very creative and fun. I'd have liked twin-stick controls rather than keys and mouse, but a minor quibble, the design is great.
