I really liked the whole atmosphere here, and the gameplay is really fun too. I like that the enemies give you a signal before they spawn your bullets, and the variety in enemies is nice to see. Great job!
Nice to see a game that encourages speedrunning! Though I think in this case how rarely the player’s ammo spawns is a bit at odds with it, with a lot of downtime happening before an enemy fires its blue bullet pattern again and letting you keep progressing, on top of the player’s shot being rather slow and hard to hit with in the first place.
I normally put some kind of score or time to go for because it gets my friends competing and replaying which results in a lot of good feedback for me. There are definitely some strategies to speedrunning this once you get good with your accuracy (which i wanted to be a bit of a learning curve plus aesthetically i wanted to be bubble like). A good strategy is to time your kills right after a release of ammo so you can head into the next wave topped off. I’ve definitely seen some competitive times in the low 2-3 minutes (much better than I can do haha).
Appreciate the feedback though, definitely things to consider for first impressions.
Cool game! You made use of a similar premise I had, and you executed it really well!
I do feel that the acceleration on the bullets fired by the player is a little too much, I feel like if you had given the bullets constant speed, it would have improved the responsiveness of the game.
Overall, I think you captured the theme very well, and I like the deep sea aesthetic. Nice job 👍
Yea I’ve heard the feedback on the bullets a fair amount so it’s definitely something to consider. The idea is they’re bubbles so they’re meant to be a big floaty and you definitely get used to them over time but I can understand how their first impression is hard to get used to.
Thanks for the feedback!
lots of fun !! was a fun challenge having to try and grab the friendly bullets whilst dodging the hostile ones and the bubbles felt super satisfying to shoot :))
Nice submission! I like the art and sound effects. The use of the theme worked really well too. I thought the difficulty was just right as well. My feedback is that the players bullets were really hard to aim with how slow they start off
I did 6.20.736.
The game all looks, sounds and plays good. The time as a goal makes the use of the theme better because you want to take risks to catch the blue bullets. I like the unusual - kind of bubble but not exactly - bullets the player's character is using, it makes the underwater setting show up more.
Nice game, thanks for sharing.
I really liked how you applied the jam theme to the game, the bubble collecting mechanic is very cool! Congratulations!
I love the music and art and most of the controls are nice and responsive. The bubbles low speed is pretty frustrating though.
Good use of the theme. The music and art are very cool and the controls work nicely. My unique point is your shoots (bubbles) could be faster and maybe add power-ups, but in general I love your game, congratz.
Lots of fun! Love the aquatic theming and the variety of under-water creatures as enemies! Also, I liked that you had a similarly color-coded ammo pick-up mechanic to my game :)
Fun game! Tested the mac and windows versions. The WebGL version was stuck on a loading screen for 3 minutes so I gave up. Personally I think the balancing for the dash is a little bit weak. I would buff it a little bit so it seems more useful.
Simple and fun game with a creative way of using the theme, cool game!
