it's very challenging and I respect that in video games, i liked the concept of the door with different consequences that was neat addition

Developer

Thank you so much!

A challenging game, I'm too rusty to get past the third level! I really like the player sprite and there's a lot of enemy variation. I was a little confused by one of the possible door choices though - it said 'More speed but less speed' so I wasn't going to risk taking that one! The one where you get no bonus but only a drawback is cruel but it was balanced by having positive-only doors too. I was lucky enough to get the bonus health and two bullets upgrades with no drawbacks at one point.

Yea "more speed but less speed" is just funny way of "i didn't have time to end skill randomizer" Haha :D

In fact, levels 3 and 8 are quite challenging. Probably i should think about making lvl 3 a bit easier after jam. Thank you for feedback!

Developer(+1)

If you want try again Jeggy pass the 3rd lvl i uploaded video which can help with the pattern on this level. This is max what i can do at this moment. :)

Very nice game, and quite punishing! Managed to get it running on Linux using Proton.

Developer

Oh thank you for info! That's great to hear. :D

Also big thanks for playing! :D

Nice, fun game will cool style, but I would appreciate clearer descriptions of the powerups. I took +1 bullet but big mage because i felt that I will fight with some big mage and I ended up with huge player character instead :D Another thing are powerups which gives you "More speed but less speed". What does it mean? xd

Developer(+1)

As I mentioned a little below. I had the skeleton of the skill randomizer ready on the first day, but I didn't have enough time for the skills themselves. So I decided, "Okay, I won't be able to deliver it beautifully on time, so let's make it funny and a bit tricky. I was kind of expecting such a reaction that when someone picks up, for example, "Big Mage" they will say, "God, what have I done?" However, of course, this is an assumption was dictated by lack of time, that's why such draws happen :D

Submitted(+1)

If that was the expectation of taking a Big Mage, so it worked well. I was thinking what have I done? :DD

Developer(+1)

I should make screenshot camera in moment when you 1st time taking that and then compilation of face expressions haha :D

Amazing gameplay loop and sound effects!
this is my favorite jam entry!

I also thought this was funny

Developer

If I managed to make you laugh at least a little (even with conscious bugs). I am very happy with it, that was my intention, to make up for the irregularities with a hint of humor!

Thank you very much for your feedback!

Really fun game with great atmosphere! Had a few humorous moments where the reward would off me something but the consequence would take it away. Enjoyed my time with this one!

Developer

I'm glad I could make you laugh a little!

Thank you very much!

Best design I've seen in this jam so far! Loved the art style, loved the sfx. Great theme implementation.

It's nice that the player can diversify his build by dying and making different choices. The difficulty of the game also encourages the player to try making different choices.

Developer

Thank you so much for this words i really appreciate that!

This was truly a very cool and great experience. Great job on creating this very neat game.
-The music is perfect and so is the SFX
-The Game is fair , neither easy nor impossible.
-The game is fun, with cool attack variations , neat waves and the cool idea of the special effects (I really loved it)
-The fun sense of humor in the game is so cool too.
overall the game is truly great, looking forward for future updates !!

Note: Please check the picture attached, I noticed a bug (not that much of an issue), if the player chose a card with -1 hp but his health is 1, he will not die but rather a "you died" menu will appear and then the player will continue playing the next level.

Before Picking up the card

Before Picking up the card

Death Menu after Picking up the card

playing next level even after death at full health

Damnnnn, even the pictures! :D Jeeez, thank you so much for this kind of feedback!

To the bug which you attached i can even call it without even looking to my code when you showed me that thing. :D Nice that you found it!
But if you are still alive...let's call this a FEATURE for this moment, can't upload new version for now but i will repair this after jam.

Your feedback was trully great! Big thanks!

Thank you!

I barely passed level 3, but I can't stop playing this game. Great submission!

Developer

I read the comment to my girlfriend, she said you can make a high five :D. The problem is that I'm a bit crazy about souls'likes, etc. So I like challenges. I think that in the first version, in general, few people would be able to complete this third level. I should probably make it a little easier...right. But at least I can post a no-hit run on the net just in case haha.

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

awesome game, the execution is a bit sloppy, but the idea is awesome, on normal jam games i just look at it for 5 min and go back but i played this game for like 30 minutes, but there are a few issues like: not enough different buffs and debuffs, you can get a combination like more speed but less speed, and the levels are a bit inconsistent for my taste, one level is normal, another is for survival, another is like a labyrynth

but i would really love to see this develop into a full on roguelike, dm me when you make it into full game pls, or i could help with the development (i think)  @kotomanornot

Developer

Given the time frame and a lot of work (just to have something to eat haha :D), unfortunately I wasn't able to perfect it as much as I wanted, especially since I focused on solo development in this case. What's funny is that the randomizer buffs (that's what I called them) were practically made quickly the day before (even though the skeleton was already there on the first day), so at one point I was like "I won't be able to implement all the buffs ahhh".

In conclusion, I just wanted to tell you that I am very grateful for your feedback and for playing this game. It means a lot to me!
