This is great! Audio and visuals are good, the controls work great and I love the idea of being able to dive and resurface. The Theme is also implemented really well. Just all around solid work!

Great game with the visuals and sounds :) gameplay was also good but the first part defenitely stood more out for me :) Just realized you did a crazy amount of jams, unlike us haha! Gave you a nice rating! If you like to check out our game too! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks 😊 Yeah I've done a heck of a lot of game jams. Too many. I think I should be focusing on bigger projects after this one. I'll be sure to play your game even though the jam concluded later

The presentation is awesome, visuals and audio are very polished and work well togheter. The dive mechanic is too strong, there's no limit and no drawback in using it, but it's interesting and fun. Maybe the levels are a little bit too long.

Overall that is one of the best games of this jam, it's really well made. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Those two critiques are by far the most common, so I'll keep that in mind if I ever do this again

EVERYTHING is pefect.

Is super fun, the dificulty is correct, the art is amazing, has interesting mechanics and fits the theme. I totally think that this game should win the game jam.

Developer(+1)

Wow! (^///^) It feels great to hear you say that! I think there are some other entries though that could take the win and deserve it more than mine, but I really appreciate that nonetheless.

Hello! 👋

Overall: ✨ Great job on the submission! I had a lot of fun playing this one.

Fun: 🎉 Loved the abilities, they complemented the game very well. The gameplay was engaging and enjoyable.

Visual: 🎨 The visuals and effects felt very polished. Those water effects were sick! The color scheme brought me back to the old Sonic games.

Audio: 🎶 The music fit the game well and added to the nostalgic feel.

Theme: 📚 The theme of "consequences" was not obvious to me.

Other feedback: Great thumbnail. The polished visuals and effects really stood out. Fantastic job on the submission!

Developer

Thanks! 🥰 I appreciate the detailed breakdown

Really solid gameplay, graphics and audio. The dive mechanic to easily avoid bullets adds another dimension to the tactics in the game as it has the consequence of being unable to fire. Superb entry, well done! Also, kudos from me for using GDevelop!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Gdevelop is great. I use it a lot

Submitted

Really solid. The levels are a little drawn out, and it kinda sucks to lose all your power when you go to a new level. Maybe a permanent upgrade when you kill a boss to incentivize finishing the levels.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. A permanent upgrade is a pretty good idea!

I really liked this game, the art was great and the dive mechanic made me feel like i was playing the Dark Souls of bullet hells!

Submitted

Nice work, very pretty and fun. Though yeah the levels are too long, and if the button placement was a bit different the diving would be incredibly broken. I like the mechanic of shots only existing by defeating enemies, it's a nice twist in the genre, good job overall.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! If I was to do something like this again I'll be sure to do shorter levels and find ways to make the dive not as powerful

Submitted

That was a lot of fun  :)

Well done!

I think the presentation is great, but I think the small enemy variety could have benefited from a shorter level and maybe even a smaller screen, so dodging feels tighter. I tried my best to not use the dive as much, as it feel too strong for what the game was putting before me, but this is 100% subjective as different people have different experiences with difficulty. The music is catchy and the sprite work is really nice, I liked the experience overall.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I was aiming to make the game a little more approachable with the diving mechanic because I think the inherent difficulty of the genre can be off-putting for some and I wanted to appeal to more people. I probably made it a little too OP though. And I certainly agree there could be more enemy variety and other things I could've done to keep the gameplay novel. Alas, I put too much of my focus on the presentation

Submitted

Not a bad game. Visually done well, the music and sounds are well chosen. But the levels are a bit tightened. And as for the mechanics of pumping, it seems to me that it was necessary either to make the enemy fatter or something else like that, because apart from increasing the rate of fire, in fact nothing else is needed. Opponents certainly lack a bit of variety. I will be grateful if you play my game and leave your opinion.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I agree gameplay could be improved in some areas, especially in novelty. I spent a little too much time on presentation. And I'll be sure to play your game soon

cant go far on tutorial level when i exit the game when i am instructed it take me to main menu and after pressing start the game return back to tutorial level

Developer

Thanks for trying out my game. You should be able to select the level you'd like to play in the terminal-like screen proceeding the title screen by either pressing A and D or clicking the icons in the corner. Sorry if that wasn't clearly communicated or if there's a bug preventing you from selecting a level. That part of the game was made pretty last minute

This is by far one of the best games of the jam and i absolutely loved the twist of making danger by destroying enemies. The diving was also a fix to the most annoying part of bullet hell's in my oppinion with imposible situation. Great game and with great art, well done!

Developer

Thanks! I'm happy you like the diving mechanic. Being faced with walls of bullets impossible to avoid is annoying to me too so I wanted to mix things up a little

Submitted

Love the game. I enjoyed it! it was flawless. the diving ability is chef kiss * . Good Job!

Developer

Thanks! Happy you liked it so much

Good game - nice to see what Gdevelop can do :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks (^∇^*) and I love Gdevelop despite some of its limitations. It really speeds up development for me

Nice gameplay, I loved the retro style! I really didn't get the theme and the dive is too powerful, but in general this game is a 10!

Developer

Thanks! Most bullets spawning only when robots are destroyed was meant to be my implementation of the theme. I probably could've done more with it though. And maybe I should've nerfed the dive with a cooldown or something

Submitted

Very good visuals and solid gameplay although it feels slow, and I tried avoiding  using the dive ability too much because it seems overpowered to me. I LOVED every sound effect, they do really satisfy. Good game!

Developer

Thanks! Most of the sounds came from Zapsplat: https://www.zapsplat.com/, I made the more retro ones using chiptone: https://sfbgames.itch.io/chiptone. About the dive, yeah it's overpowered. The main reason I included it was to make the game easier for non bullet-hell players to get into the game.

Really fun game, great graphics and music. Might be from my general lack of bullet hell experience, but the level 2 boss felt like a bit of a bullet sponge. The level 3 boss felt like it had very few openings for attacking, although that might be a case of me being bad. The projectile dropping enemies were great and the diving for invuln in exchange for not being able to shoot was also fantastic, although I'm not sure what impact that had on bullet patterns, since for some it felt mandatory, making fighting back a little hard. Was also curious about the choice for the health robot to drop a crate that you had to shoot instead of immediately healing. Overall awesome game though!

Developer

Thanks for all the feedback! I also lack experience in bullet hells so it's kind of a blend of traditional bullet-hell tropes and my own design choices. From what few I've played, I got the sense bosses in these games commonly do soak a lot of damage and leave just small openings. That's why the 2nd and 3rd bosses are the way they are, not that I'm defending my design decisions. They're also my least favorite because way less time went into designing them than the first

Submitted

Lush and wonderful PC98 like graphics ^^ !!!!!!! This brings the touhou vibe to the bullet jam ;)

After the slow start, it gets really satisfying with plenty of pretty things to blast that pop well ^^

Developer

Thanks! Sounds like I succeeded in capturing the vibes I was going for
