How does the game fit into the theme?
In our game (which has a gym and sports theme) the player which isss a nerd in workout gear, is forced to escape from a… spiky climbing wall, yup.

Since the theme is to keep moving forward, we decided to make all platforms treadmills to prevent the player from standing still, as a result checkpoints are also optional, so players aren’t forced to stop and waste time..

If they’re skilled enough, they can just KEEP GOING FORWARD!!

What premade assets did you use if any?
None. All assets were created specifically for this game.

What are the Discord usernames of everyone on your team?
"om.dc", "ebtipo"

Did you use MiniScript for your entry?

No

Did you use Playroom for your entry?

No

Nice game, however like the others said, something seems off with the tracking of the character and also maybe adjust the difficulty during the game !

nice how evrything moves but wow this camera i lost track of my player multiple times kinda wierd

This is a good implementation of the theme, and I really tried to go as far as possible. And I liked the 8-bit sounds, which suits the style for me.

Great theme fit! Controls were tricky but responsive. One thing to note is that, for me, the character blended too much with the background, making it the player hard to track. Solid entry!

For some reason, this game really triggered me—I don’t know exactly why, but I just wanted to get as far as possible! However, I had some issues with a checkpoint. At first, I didn’t realize that I had to hold "F" to activate it; I only understood that after activating the first one. For a prototype made in such a short time, it’s very interesting. I really liked the conveyor belt mechanic!

I like the artwork! I agree with the others' feedback, but it was still pretty addictive despite them. Good work!

Wow this one is tough. The camera was a bit rough for me. I am pretty sensitive to motion sickness and this one definitely messed with me a bit. But I really like the way the treadmills are kind of "sticky" and let you move up. Felt like a pretty solid retro platformer. Nice job!

The graphic section is very good, and the theme is well applied

Hi it's a good platformer. It's a little hard at the start but it gets quite funny once you understand the controls of the game :)

nice platformer! the camera is a bit too slow like others are saying but apart from that it's really good :)

Helloo!! I’m the other developer of PuMp

Both of us are gathering as much feedback as possible from you so that when the community voting ends, we can FINALLY update and fix the game both according to what we already wanted to do (but unfortunately due to lack of time some things ended up like this :,>)

and of course we’re also taking consideration of everything you write and rate for!! We’re really happy that you’re interested ^^

The movement feels nice and the theme is neat! There are a lot of blind jumps though and I nearly exploded when I had to move right and hold F at the same time lmao

Yeah, like other people have been saying, the camera could be faster. Also, it might be nice to have like a safe area at the spawn so the player cannot instantly die when they respawn. Overall though, pretty challenging game, good job!

I think it's a good idea, but I found it a bit difficult. The camera has a very slow speed, which makes it more of an enemy haha. It's hard to move forward if the camera doesn't show what's ahead.

Despite that, it's a good project, and the music is very good.
Great job :D

I really like the art for the game! Kinda reminds of mindwave if that makes sense, its kinda confusing at times and hard gameplaw wise, but its real fun!!

if i had any complaints, it would be the camera, sometimes when i lost, the camera would take a bit long to get back to the character and i wouldnt know what to do now because i couldnt see what was happening, overall good game!!

Developer

yeah i forgot to multiply the speed with Time.deltatime 😅

Cool idea! I think the camera needs a little work but good job!

Don't forget to give us your rating for the game.

This game is hard, but hard is fun!

i like the wallclimbing, and how the limited dashes make it important to decide when to use them (i'd like some indicator though to tell how many dashes i have left).

the respawn is kinda inconsistent, with the wall of spikes only occasionally resetting and many moving obstacles dont reset their position (which can make some jumps almost impossible when paired with the camera). i think you should do some additional checks to make sure the obstacles are properly reset when you respawn. also, the fact that the jump doesnt reset during respawn can lead to you getting softlocked when you respawn right into a spike placed above at certain checkpoints. of course, this might just be a problem with my browser? we'll see how others fare.

you should probably code the camera to stay in front of the player's direction to help mitigate leap of faiths (or maybe zoom the camera out a bit? idk).

finally, this is probably just skill issue but i find the hitboxes a tad big. depending on your intent with the game, you might want to shrink the hitboxes to make them more forgiving (this pairs well with the wall of spikes urging the player to move quickly and make riskier plays to stay ahead)

bugs and camera aside, this game plays pretty well, and the gym theme is well-integrated into the mechanics

Thank you very much 😊

Controls are hard but its not ruining the game at all, good game overall!

Pretty challenging which I like. The only thing that I really don't like is the camera, it's very difficult to see where you're going and sometimes even what you're doing.

Oh and great music!

yeah i forgot to multiply the speed with Time.deltatime 😅
