Great game!  Really nice artwork and art style, and the music added a really nice autumn vibe.  I played to the finish and enjoyed working out the puzzles.  The mechanism of plotting out the path worked really nicely, and the whole game had a really nice polish.  I would second the prior comment that being able to see behind trees would be a nice additional feature.  Some other feedback that I hope is helpful: this game was slow to load for me (playing Mac/Firefox): it was a minute or two at the load screen, probably 30 second freeze after pushing Start (music didn't freeze), and each time I played it also froze on puzzle 1, part-way through the process of the hedgehog walking its route, and stayed frozen for about 20 seconds.  The remainder was smooth.  I was also initially confused about selecting the hedgehog to chart out.  On puzzle 1, I clicked on the hedgehog icon on the gameboard, rather than the UI one, and it worked (presumably because selected by default).  I did that on the following puzzles as well.  By the time I got to "hut swap," I clicked on one hedgehog on the gameboard, plotted it out fully, then clicked on the other hedgehog on the gameboard, and found that my moves turned gray quicker than they should.  I was confused until I eventually figured out that clicking on the UI icons toggled them.  If others had this issue, perhaps some clearer visual feedback or instruction on that point would be good.  Great work!

Thank you very much for playing and for your detailed feedback.

Seeing behind the trees is a must for such game, I agree.

I’m not sure that I fully understood the issue with grayed-out moves that you had, but I will try to reproduce it according to your steps.

As regards the browser, Firefox on Mac, unfortunately, has an issue with Godot. Shader compilation works very slowly, AFAIK. There could be a workaround similar to Chrome, i.e. to start Firefox from the command line. Need to check.

Very cute and cozy game. I can't imagine how complicated it must have been to do all this, congratulations on your game, it's very good.

I just played and rated your game, if you could do the same for me I would be very grateful <3

Thanks for your feedback, Rachel! It wasn’t that hard, I can assure you. Just some work with tile map and a-star, and that’s it :). PS: I use Mac so it’s a bit problematic to play your game, but I’ll try my virtual Linux.

This is pretty well put together! I like this conceptually, and it's a cozy feeling game.

Very cute concept, good puzzle. I love the hedgehogs!

The automatic paths can be a bit frustrating to adjust some time, but well done!

loved this game. I was bored and decided to come here to look at the other submissions and I ended up playing this game for a good while. It has adorable art. Looks very polished and the music sounds great. I do enjoy how if you mess up on a level it doesn't completely reset ur pathing, I messed up many times and it would have been very annoying to have to go back and put the pathing all over again. There are some things I wish this game had. I wish it had a music volume button because I would love to hear the sound effects more than the music (just my personal preference), I also wish it had a different sound for the animals right now it sounds like a squeaky cabinet opening and closing, maybe I am just dumb and that is what hedgehogs sound like lol.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! I’m glad you liked the game. I’ll try to improve the game after the jam. PS: The hedgehogs indeed like to squeak, especially when you hug them, lol

Wow this was really cute! A fun puzzle with a nice tutorial to get you going. The music is nice, although a bit loud. As for feedback I would say it is a bit difficult to see what is happening at times as everything is small or behind trees. But overall this was a really nice experience and could definitely see this being expanded upon! :)

Developer

Thank you! Volume settings should be included, of course. I just didn’t have time to work on them during the jam. I think making the map larger and maybe turning trees transparent while building the path should help improve the visibility.

Really well made! I loved the visuals (especially the trees) and the background music.
I loved the game idea! :)

Really well made puzzle game! Fit the theme perfectly! I would like to have had the map a little closer/bigger to see some of the details especially the small little mushrooms. There was a lot of empty space between the map and the icons on the left, they could probably have overlapped a bit and it still would have been ok. Fantastic job though, beautiful entry!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I considered making the map twice larger and/or scrollable, but I didn’t have time to experiment with that during the jam.

Totally love the idea and the artwork, great level design, great sound effects! These puzzle games are hard to make good, and you nailed it! Great job, keep it up!

This was an excellent puzzle game.

The tutorial was really good at easing the players into the mechanics

Very cozy! If you ever decide to expand this with more levels I'd recommend making the arrows be visible through the trees or something to show there are open tiles behind trees. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Indeed, we would love to add a few more things to the game that didn’t fit into the jam’s timeline. For instance, witches :) They could be a part of a Hallowing update if time permits :) It’s a good idea to make trees transparent while building a route. But we didn’t find a quick solution to this during the jam.

Dear players, if you use macOS and Chrome, you need to start your browser from the command line (terminal):

Safari was tested and works fine.
