Hey, this game looks awesome, those graphics are just so pleasing. Nice work!
Nice artwork! You put together art, music, story, inventory system, map, dialogues, ui and a brewing mechanic that is central to your game, no small feat! Good job!
The brewing minigame was really great! I loved the little mechanics behind the brewing. Maybe some more hints to tell you what to do as you brew rather than only in the diary. And a dedicated icon place for the brewed potion as if it's not in the first slot of the inventory it wont register as you being able to deliver it to the people. Great game though, a little polish and some sound effects and it'll be perfect! Great entry!
Impressive game! It was very fun to play and experiment with the ingredients based on their descriptions, although maybe it was a little too hard, but the brewing itself was very fun. Still, it was a good experience and a great concept, the music was wonderful, it really gives you a cozy vibe. And i couldn't believe at first that there was a day/night cycle, I thought there was something wrong with my monitor haha.
Loved this and the graphics were nice. I agree with a commenter about some lack of direction. I mixed a bunch of combinations of things but didn't really get rewarded for my efforts in experimenting. Really very impressive for a two week game jam and I LOVE day/night cycles in games.
Nice work on this game! The concept is fun, the art style is great, the potion book and potion-making are great, and the night/day cycle is a great touch. The opening position of the witch was also very funny :). I played this one for a while and really wanted to play it to completion, but I struggled to make progress. I came back and played a second time, but again I couldn't make progress. I completed the first potion (for sleep), and was able to create the second one (for the boy) only because I saw the potion book in the preview image -- it wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise to create the first potion again and offer it to someone else. After that, I tried many different potions to try to create the tea, using chestnut, glowing mushroom, and a different flower for each attempt, but I just ended up with a shelf full of "???", and I wasn't sure if that kind of trial-and-error was how this game worked. I actually really like the idea of a game that leaves you to experiment, but I wasn't sure if that's actually what was intended so I felt a little adrift. I hope that's helpful feedback! I left this game with a positive feeling and wishing I could keep going!
Thank you for the nice comments and feedback! The idea was that you would go around and talk to the other people who would then give you hints about what to add to all the different potions, and with some trial-and-error figure out who needs what. It seems that this could've been explained more clearly how the system works exactly so we'll keep all of this in mind for the future. Thanks again :)
I like your art and idea. The atmosphere feels heartwarming and very thematic.
Strangely, I wasn’t able to brew many valid potions. I experimented with ingredients and made a lot of no-name mixtures, and there was no way to dispose of them. Maybe I was doing something wrong.
Thank you! Your problem seems to be a more common issue, so we'll definitely keep that in mind for next time.
Great game and pixel art ;)
This game looked pleasing overall, and I think the potion making is a good concept! I think there needs to be a way to dispose of failed potions though. I quickly filled up with trash and wasn't able to brew good potions because of that.
Thank you for the nice comment! I agree that there should've been a way to dispose of items but that was sadly one of the many things on the to-do list we didn't get to.
Nice aesthetics, music and artwork was very polished. Full screen mode didn't really work for me, so it was a bit tiny playing in browser. But I enjoyed the game!
Thank you for your comment! Sorry about the full screen mode that seems that have gone wrong somewhere along the lines.
I love witch games!! Very cozy, love the music as well!
Great game!
Thank you so much!
oh wow, this is such a cute and charming game... Im also quite biased when it comes to games with witches
I loved the asthetics and cleverness of the quests, good job! Also, day/night cycle fits perfectly with the game as a whole! The characters are great, and brewing as a main mechanic feels amazing! Good job, keep it up!
This game is amazing and I can't believe it was all done in 2 weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed the quests and the hints at what ingredient you needed to use were perfect. The aesthetic is also very nice :)
Incredible game, congratulations!
I loved the concept and how freedom this game leaves to the player: it feels nice to explore the world and discover new potions, and I think that's what make me continue playing! I also loved the journal idea, it helps a lot recalling the clues and the quests.
Amazing entry, thank you! :)
Thank you so much! Your submission was also really nice :) I loved the aesthetic and vibe a lot.
Good job! This is a really nice project :-)
Thank you!
I love it! I can see the difference that having a team, and I supose more experience, can do. I mean, we had the same idea but very different results. This encourages me even more to keep practicing and making more games.
Wow, what a coincidence hahah. Will be checking your game out!
A little bit lost and unfortunately can't figure out how to brew all the potions, but it's such a lovely game, love both the concept and execution!
Thanks!
