This is a really cool and concise game, that had well executed concepts that surprised me multiple times. I loved the pitch of playing the enemy responsible for stocking the dungeon. Combat felt a little weak at first but you're a goblin so thats to be expected. But wait! Then you amass a horde of dungeon denizens, which was awesome and thematic as well. I only wish I had slightly more control or interaction with them, like a way to stun an enemy or partially maneuver them to avoid arrows. Not only that but completing the levels modify your goblin because you are giving up the treasure, which was another nice touch to change it up. My only real criticisms are it was hard to tell when I was getting hit sometimes and that since you dont have much control, it seemed like the monsters provided were tailored to sorta beat each encounter on their own. Still really enjoyable game, mechanically and conceptually! That last treasure :D
Ey, thanks for leaving your feedback! Glad you had fun with the game! Yeah, the focus of the combat ended up being the army building. We also wanted to give the A.I. More complex commands, but that would take too much time, something we didn't have much of. A stun tool for the player is actually a good ideia, I like it! Really appreciate the time and effort you have put into analyzing some of the mechanics and poiting some of the issues! Also, can you really blame him? The thing was hungry!
I found this game extremely fun! I like the level/map structure, simplistic yet consistent artstyle, and the overall concept of the game. If your goal was to have me emotionally attached to my companions, you did a great job xD. Collecting my own army through my own explorations and fighting was satisfiying! Overall great job :)
Thank you for the feedback! We put a lot of care into the map design and artstyle, but one of our main goals was to imerse the player in a simple narrative within that small world. Because of that, I'm really happy to hear that you were able to connect with your comrades during your journey!
Great game! The concept of resurrecting fallen comrades and fighting together with them is excellent. The art, sounds, music are good as well.
Attacking felt kinda weird and slow sometimes and most of the time I couldn't attack an enemy without taking a hit myself. Also, In the last part of third level, I was able to run away from enemies and reach the chest without defeating the enemies so you might want to lock the path until all enemies have been defeated.
Great work overall!! :)
The attack being slow is supposed to be a drawback to going into fights yourself so that you let your friends battle while only helping here and there. Glad you enjoyed the game though!
Super rad game! I think I remember seeing the loot goblin character in the mini gam jam discord, so it's really cool to see what it turned into! The game balance and progression was really impressive. Art and music are top notch! So many clever designs are packed into this 5 day game! I tried coasting in the last level and rightfully died after not paying attention.
I'm always on the lookout for games that can make "degress to progress" work well. Like getting the player to willing give up something that makes them stronger for the sake of the story or the characters and not be upset about it. This totally nails that! I'm a goblin returning my loot to master, of course I gotta give it up! I didn't give it a second thought.
The characters were all unique and played important roles in the composition!
I couldn't find a stale moment in this game! Amazing job! - Josh
Really glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I had posted it on the Mini Jam discord and that's how I found this jam to post it and get feedback for our project. You can thank Murisocrates (aka. Lorenzo) for all the level balancing and the idea to present you with new friends every level!
Short and sweet! I love the minimal art style! Gathering a small army to fight is super enjoyable. And it was quite well balanced, it wasn't overly difficult and your army didn't steamroll everything either. Very well done! :D
Hello there! We really wanted to make sure the units were balanced, so i'm glad to hear you felt it worked well! Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I felt I wanted to face check against every enemy so my army didnt have to fight for me and stay safe looll. Great game it was fun :)
Glad you liked it! The little story does make you a bit emotional about your friends. Hope you liked the side story that I don't know if anyone noticed yet.
My biggest takeaway from this game is how immediately attached I felt to the fallen comrades fighting beside me. I don't know how you accomplished this so quickly, but I genuinely cared for them, and wanted them to survive every battle. The music and art were also very enjoyable. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback! We love to hear how you feel about the game and hope you liked the little side-story about a special skeleton in there.
Love the minimalistic art style, especially the little "U" goblins! The wizards with their tiny rats are cool too. Was fun to get to lead your little army through the maze and let them fight out your battles for you. I keep dying in the second maze though... :D
Glad you enjoyed! And yea, the second level is a hard but also really short.
This was a lot of fun! I liked running around and collecting an army to do my bidding. Graphics are clean and the sounds worked well; having a bunch skeletons all dooting away made me laugh.
Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
Glad to hear you had fun building your own army of monsters! Also, really happy to know you liked the doots™!
I proper loved this. I love the tiny spites they really make it I think. Uncovering the story as you go on is great and makes it feel like an adventure. Controls are good but would have liked to be able to keep moving while swinging my sword. Will be rating when the jam voting period begins!
Thanks for the feedback!
Not moving when you are attacking is actually because if you were to continue moving you'd almost always be hit by the enemy you are attacking and it got really annoying. It was actually implemented because it was requested from people who tested our game!
