Fun puzzle game with a cool mechanic! :)

Cool mechanic Cool game

Fun little game.  I like the way the difficulty scaled gradually - but not so hard that I could not finish it.  I felt like I was cheating a little when I could hop and skip a planet, which was fun.

If you like platformers, please try our game.

Very fun! I enjoyed the music very much and quite a unique interpretation!

This is fun to play. There's a nice variety of obstacles.

I was able to do shortcuts in a few levels by abusing game mechanics:
- I can start another jump when falling down, not easily reproducible though
- I could climb the wall and then jump over it

Super cute and fun! Good job!

Nice. The blurry pixel art, mid air jumps (double jump!) and death sfx was already mentioned.
I liked the progressive difficulty and number of levels.

The game was fun to play, but you really need to change the texture magnification to linear to show the pixel art :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for this comment, you actually taught me something I didn't even know to look into. I just tested my game with nearest neighbor interpolation enabled when scaling instead of linear (which is the default) and it looks MUCH better. Too late to update my submission now but that is great to know going forward.

Cool! The mechanic is easy to understand and level design is pretty good.

Great level design!

Some feedbacks:

- Don't scale up your pixel art, ah ah :D. I don't know what motor you used, but it's pretty sad to it blurry, despite it was good pixel art!

- Polish the control (sometimes I'm frozen when I'm landing for a few seconds)

Great job!

First game I tried for the jam, and it's a great start :)
Really nice gameplay and graphics, I enjoyed the level design and the occasional speedrun tricks where you can use gravity to jump much closer to the goal than the laid out path suggests.

I was a bit surprised by the Doomguy-like cry SFX as I saw my cute redhead character as a female version of The Little Prince, heh :P

Had occasional glitches where I could be considered "on planet" (thus able to jump) even though I was midair, and for a potential post-jam edition I'd like to the see the movement feel a bit juicier.

Really great game! The amount of effort you put into the level design really shows.

Wow, that was amazing, original game play!

I've never seen a game like it. It has that concept like Super Mario Galaxy where gravity pulls the player to the planet. It was a 2D inter-planetary platformer and the kind of game you want out of a game jam.

Super cool game ! I loved it !

There's a few probably non-intended shortcuts but that makes the game even cooler haha

One thing that could be improved is the little timer when you land on a planet, that makes the game a little less reactive :(

Excellent job though !

Developer(+1)

Yea - I'm aware of the shortcuts thing and it was mostly unintended. I tweaked the physics a number of times without going back and doing the same with the levels and as a result things got a little out-of-whack. I understand what you mean about the stickiness when you land as well... I was trying to improve the physics up until the very last moment and just kind of ran out of time. Thanks for the kind words!

Favorite game of the night after rating 10 games! You took a very simple concept and KILLED it with the level design. This was so much fun to play. I actually managed to beat the entire game without ever dying haha. The song was awesome! Did you write it?

So much fun! I hope this game gets top 10!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad the level design came across well because I was trying really hard to teach the mechanics/entities in the game in the first ~10 levels and then do interesting stuff with it for the rest. I'd love to have had another 5-10 levels but I just ran out of time to create more content.

I did not write the song but I agree, it's great... the credit goes to David Harris - https://david-harris.itch.io/ost-many-stars

I enjoyed playing this, controls felt nice once I got the hang of it! Great job!

Submitted(+1)

Very nice!  Self-teaching mechanics, fun and I love the sound effects :).

Had a lot of fun playing, controls were easy to use and like the puzzle aspect.  I think the player faces opposite direction that the controls move them.

My favorite of the games I've played so far. Awesome concept and fun gameplay. I would have preferred a little bit more speed on the rotation, a little less waiting for obstacles to clear, and some air control, but fantastic job overall.

Simple and fun! Music is catchy too.
