I honestly loved the game I wish there was more! Probably my favorite game I've played and had to make an itch.io account to comment this.
I haven't even played this game yet (like I'm downloading it now), but I can tell a lot of care has gone into it.
Amazing, I don't know what else to say! Graphics are on point, music is great, funny. My only problem is I wish there was more!
what a fab game! I look forward to seeing it completed.
The Art, music, dialogue, character and world building are spot on. it makes you feel welcomed into the world right away. I was so sad it ended so soon. Each character you can imagine as a real "person" right away. definitely has the potential to become an indie game classic. I did find the movement a little bit hard to get the hang of, could be me not having any experience in this style of game.
looking forward to the finale product!!!
It’s good to see a superb point and click game. The art is well done and the music is marvelous!
A short but cute experience! I love the look of 2D drawings on 3D backgrounds, and all the art looks incredible!
Navigating the world with clicking was a little awkward, however - for instance, it was hard to walk inside the kitchen with a wall blocking the view, since you have the click the parts of the kitchen that are visible through the window. And you can't easily walk behind a character without talking to them. It would be nice if there was an arrow keys movement option instead.
I love the dialogue, and I wish it was longer!
Your 2.5D is amazing!
Wow!! This was so great in so many ways I don't know where to begin so I'll just list thoughts in no particular order :D
- The intro, part hand-drawn part 3D, was SO good! Just immediately sets the atmosphere along with the sound. It could have come from a professional game.
- I loved the jazz all throughout, haha
- Bit nerdy: The camera movement from the world to the dialog scenes is extremely smooth, same goes for Mothlowe's turn animation.
- Dialogue was excellent and there was a lot of worldbuilding and humor shimmering through the text lines.
- big Disco Elysium vibes
- awesome to play relationship counselor while doing detective work
All of that and there is a giant level to explore. As for the End(?), I'd love to explore more of this world.
This is my favourite Game of this Jam :D
I hope you win!
Thankyou so much! Because of the great response we might be turning The Insector into a full game. Stay tuned!
wow looks amazing. Art is soooo nice. Well done!
Thankyou! I agree, our artists did a fantastic job.
really smart stuff. Well done for getting game of the week also 👍
This game is excellent! I love the art style and all animations included. As well as the writing for the game is awesome!!!!!
This is really well done, would've loved to see more of it!
Bit of UI feedback: the text box dynamically sizing to fit contents ended up shifting text around as you were reading it, sometimes even between two different single-lines of text. Having a minimum height and keeping the alignment of the dialogue consistent probably would have helped.
Aside from that, this felt very polished; loved all the character designs!
thanks Sean for the feedback 🙂 and thanks for playing 😊
Thankyou Sean!
You're right. fixing the dialogue box will be one of the first things on the list if we are to make a full version.
Love the art (and how the characters turn to go upstairs!). The bass music fits perfectly.
10 over 10 for your intro and your sense of humor!
Thankyou! I'm glad you enjoyed the humour. We had a lot of fun coming up with the jokes.
I love everything about this game! The art is fantastic, the music fits the game really well and I like the funny dialogue. I wish there will be more content in the future, great work!
Thankyou so much! We might make a full version in the future so stay tuned!
Awesome drawing, animations, story. Pretty funny with all the puns and accents. Really liked your game!
Thankyou for playing!
I want more! I was so ready to keep playing at the end. Everything about this was super well done. All of the characters were fun to talk with, and I was genuinely interested and engaged about this universe. The intro blew me away! The music was superb and the graphics were so well executed! I found myself looking at every single thing and trying to explore beyond where you're guided. Very awesome game, hope to see more of this in the future.
thankyou so much 🙂
Thankyou very much, glad you had fun! And yes we might be making a full version of this in the future!
"Waspmeralda." Nice. Had a few laughs with the names and the puns. I enjoyed playing the game and I've always loved games that integrate 2D sprites in a 3D world. Well done mates.
Thank you! :D
This was really cool. I love the atmosphere and music of the game a lot. The art style is so pleasant and comforting to look at I love it. The characters were extremely interesting with their varied designs and looks. I hope one day there will be more this was very good.
Thankyou humbly 😊
Thankyou!!!!
I love this game, from the art to the aesthetics to the music, incredible, I love how, as soon as you boot up the game, you start, there is no waiting around and you just start, I love the area and everything about this game, truly, amazing to play.
Thankyou humbly
