I liked this one a lot!
It is a solid platformer with a brilliant scale mechanic that can be used in different ways!
The graphic is good except for that out-of-place default Unity background. :p
Theme fitting and funny, excellent job!
Nicely done. neat graphics and sounds.
The skeletons are great xD. Also really like the jump-scale mechanic, reminds me of the old Mr. Wizard stuff like dropping a basketball with a tennis ball on top. Cool game!
Great theme interpretation! Cool gameplay mechanic.
A nice interpretation of the theme. I liked the Metroidvania elements in the gameplay. I feel like I want to know what's the backstory of the character.
a fun take on the theme! i enjoy the way the mechanics and level design work together. well done!
The game could improve with some music; it feels a bit empty. The sound effects are fun, and most importantly, the theme is well implemented. Great job, and the cube is beautifully designed. Good job!
Check out my game submission: https://ricotv.itch.io/full-scale-invasion
thank you, I will definitely add some music in future updates. And I will definitely check out your game!
Love the easter eggs and controls was good until dash bro. Dash needs a little more work. Also a lot of backgrounds were blending with the walls. Overall good game
100% agree with you on the dash. Will try to improve that in future updates.
Controls could be improved a bit and music could be added. But other than that, it a very good game.
totally agree with you on both the controls and the music. I will continue to polish and update after the game jam ends.
That was quite fun. I loved the smooth camera movements. That really made it feel polished. The shrinking in midair as a mechanic was also pretty cool.
The only part I had issues with was dashing. This may have been due to an issue where if you were holding a directional button, sometimes the jump didn't trigger.
Also, I was unsure of if there was a level end. I found the "end of the world" sign, but thought there'd be some kind of "Yay you won" or something. Maybe there is, but I have been playing for around 20 minutes, but couldn't find it.
Still a fun game overall. Great work!
PS: As a sound designer, I must say, that "pop" sound was extremely satisfying.
thanks a lot for taking the time to play and for the great feedback! I will continue updating the game after the jam is over to improve dash mechanics and generally to make the whole thing a more polished experience. And yeah sadly that star was the only “ending” for now. I will improve this too.
Great metroidvania! Really effective use of a novel mechanic. Great level design. Nice game feel. Very crisp. Well done.
oh man that’s so amazing to hear. I put so much effort into this. It’s my first game and first game jam. Really appreciate the feedback. Thank you for playing.
You shouldn't be this good on your first game.
Not to piggyback on the other comment, but have to agree on the great level design. I enjoyed reading the signs as well. And congrats on this being your first jam!
I streamed this in my Discord and they all liked it. Game was really fun to play, movement felt great.
Damn, thanks for doing that! Really happy to hear that!
Cool mechanic. I liked the skeletons. Controls were a little awkward though.
thanks for the feedback and taking the time to play. I will polish up the controls after the jam ends and I’d also like to add key rebinding if I can figure it out.
Pretty fun, nice job! Would be cool if there was a scale key near A and D to play with just one hand, but not a big deal. I like the little messages scattered around the place :)
Ah, that's great feedback. Probably W might have been perfect for that.
