Fun game. I really like the combat, where you have to move around the enemy ships. It would ahve been better if there was some danger for the player, because the respawn mechanism makes dying irrelevant. It would have been nice to have more secrets other than the fishing spots. Nevertheless, great job!
What a fun little game! I loved how you implemented the progression, with the enemies getting stronger as you get stronger, and it was really fun! The combat was fun and compelling, and I had a lot of good moments playing it! My one suggestion would be to make the boat's default movement speed faster, since there were some points where I was just waiting to get somewhere. Other than that, great game!
fun little pirates progression game, with a good boss and sub-boss battles needs some secrets though
A really fun game. I did eventually go and save Alice, but I was happy just sailing around taking out pirates and getting gold for quite a long time - and the music was perfect!
After playing your game I thought there isn't enough reggae in game music, but it's too bad because it fits really well a pirate game!
Other than that it's a neat game, I liked the progression, the upgrades and the combat system is quite fun! Good work!
A very fun game! I really enjoyed the audio and cutscenes, and the gameplay was great too! Nice work
An interesting and relaxing game! I love the upgrade mechanic and that you have to balance your earnings against that :) I found it relaxing going around treasure hunting as well! A minor suggestion would be perhaps increasing the speed of the boat to allow for faster getting from point A to point B.
Great pirate adventure. Too bad Squid and Barrels didn't attack the pirates.
I really enjoyed it despite the simple graphics. Thank you!+)
I found it hard to move my boat, and couldn't get my fishing rod to work.
At the start just press the spacebar in quick succession. Then you can move the boat.
Neat game. I enjoyed playing it through to completion. Fighting pirates was fun, the squid completely destroyed me (but I got my own back eventually). The fishing/crane injects some variety into the gameplay.
Good choice of tone/palette. I liked the little animations such as when you rescue Alice and they spin around.
For improvements, maybe add the velocity of the ships to where the Cannon is firing at. Also, it would be funny if the Squid and the Pirates could start fighting each other sometimes, rather than teaming up on you.
Well done!
I didn't thought about them fighting each other, haha. Thanks for playing.
I have to admit, I was skeptical when I first saw this game, but I'm glad I decided to give it a try! At first, I was simply enjoying escaping the surrounding darkness and rain to the Caribbean. Just chilling and fishing! But then pirates showed up!? And a giant squid!? Thank God I got Alice back to safety. What an adventure!
Thank you very much.
Pirates went and stole Jim's wife Alice! That's okay. After a while of drifting I got my revenge. This game has a very sid meyers pirates feel with the drifting and the cannons. I also like that you bothered to put some story elements into a game that could just be fun for progression's sake. Sometimes I did find myself wishing for some enemy variety but this is a good swing in a Jam. Congrats!
Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
This is fun I enjoyed it
Fun! I really like the laid back vibe and pace of the game
I really like the sense of exploration! Nice work!
