There are also more hints in the descritpion on the itch page.

Very cool entry. Genuinely made me feel like I was decyphering computer logic.

I was able to understand the cypher puzzle pretty quickly, but the puzzle of figuring out the mechanics took me a bit more time to decypher (although the hints helped greatly). Once I had figured out what was going on, it was very satisfying to apply my theories and see them work in action.

Great game, and definitely the most challenging one I've played during the jam. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you liked it :3

I really like this one. Figuring out how the language and the cypher and understand the rule is tricky but is what makes the game fun. Well done.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback ! I’m really happy that you liked it, as most comment were people that were stuck at some point in the game ^^”

I like the concept, but maybe a little more hint will be nice.

Hi, thanks for the feedback, there are hints on the itch page if needed !

Full disclaimer : I'm the playtester and I also happen to be friend with the developer.
I'll be as objective as I can be, still.

I actually managed to beat the game. Uncyphering the alphabet was actually pretty trivial but the second part threw me out of the loop for maybe a good hour, I'd say?

The tutorial really didn't help a lot. It doesn't explicitely tell you where your program is or how your cards affect it. You either notice it or you don't when the game asks you to play a card to proceed.

Speaking of which, cards took a lot of trial and error to understand exactly what impact each have on your program, and even after knowing their effects, their presentation still looked confusing sometimes. Probably took me around 30 minutes overall to nail that one down.

Captchas, again, took a bit of trial and error to understand exactly what was expected of me. (Only the COMP/PBMC line needs to be satisfied.)

With all that, I personally have my doubts about the game's accessibility. (which unfortunately the comments seems to back up)
The game looks extremely daunting with basically 2 vastly different puzzles stacked on top of each other and I think might need (very) basic programmation knowledge beforehand (or at least it can help a ton!)

All that being said, once all that was figured out, the concept of the game was really neat and I actually had a lot of fun clearing it.
Even replaying multiple times and figuring out how to optimize my plays to solve captchas faster and more efficiently kept me on the hook for a good couple hours.

The music and SFX were fine, I have more of a thing for the visuals tho. The chosen colors and the terminal-like visual are eyecandy for me.

Yeah I think I'm in a similar positions as others. I like the concepts and I hink the idea and theme interpreation is very good, also i like the visuals very much, but sadly I'm not smart enough to figure this out! :D Nice job anyway, and nice job on the small palette wildcard as well!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback ^^ Did you have a look at the hints ? What did you struggle on ?

Similar to what other folks are saying. I get the ROT13  piece, but still - the program on the right I do not understand what does FLAG mean, what does GOTO mean - what's with the numbers with $  v. the numbers without? The tutorial gives a program on the right that's simply unlock, so it doesn't really help me understand what I'm doing with these cards.

Full points on the secrets theme. Like the idea of a Captcha for humans

Developer

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback ! Seems like I need to add some hints about the language used then ^^ In the hints I layed in the itch page I say what the program on the left does, even tho I don’t explain it step by step and don’t detail what each instruction does.

Developer

I added a manual for the language in the itch description now, hope that will help if you give it an other go ^^

I'm too dummy thicc for this, had no idea what I was doing. But love the concept and overall aestetic.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback ! Did you have a look at the hints in the itch descrition ?

Submitted

I hadn't noticed the hint section, I just read the description. Perhaps consider adding them to the game itself next time.

Developer

I thought the game was fine without them, it was fine for the person that playtested it, I didn’t have the time to playtest it enough.

Unfortunately I couldn't quite figure out the puzzle, maybe a step by step tutorial will help! Nice work though

Developer

Hi, thanks for the feedback ! I have a lot of people that say they are stuck but never say where ^^” I just added a bunch of hints on the itch page if you want to have a look again

This is an interesting concept but I was not able to properly understand what to do. I replayed the tutorial but didn’t help me.

Developer

were you able to decipher the text ? What stomped you ?

I really enjoyed the music and effects, and the art style is fantastic. However, I found the puzzles quite confusing, which made it difficult for me to progress.

Overall, it’s a visually appealing game with great audio. I thought the puzzles could be a bit more intuitive, or maybe I just didn’t get it

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the feedback, my puzzles are very nerdy, I should have dialed them back a little it looks like. A small hint if you’re stuck with deciphering the text: hint

Nice aesthetic! The music and SFX also worked well. Despite that, I gave up pretty quickly. I like puzzles, but just wasn't convinced to invest in figuring it out. I might try again later, though.

Hi, thanks for the feedback ! Too bad to hear you gave up on the puzzles, if you need help for the deciphering part maybe have a look at this hint Once you overcome this hurdle it becomes more of a puzzle card game ^^
