Cool gameplay and great innovation, a other interpretation of the time which is nice ! I liked the graphics.

As I saw french in the page, in last words : Bien joué, le thème est  respecté et original !

Really nice juicy game feel.
The first minute feels impossible for how ever I try to kill the blocks to collect time, I can't seem to get but only about 50% off the block.

Developer

Thank you for playing. The first minute is not supposed to be such hard. I have put an note on the game page to explain how to pass it.

That was a fun game i really enjoyed the sound effects it was really juicy

Am I assuming correctly, that i need to get the circle at 12 first? That is a bit hard but after that its really easy. maybe with some  tweaking that would be really nice.

I think the enemies get stuck too much. Also I got some jittery camera when i moved around.

Other than that i really enjoyed it

Developer

Thank you very much for playing. I will take you feedback in account in next updates.

This looks like a fun game, but my browser freezes when I try to run the game (tried on Safari and Chrome on two different Mac computers.)

Title: The Last Hour.
My play experience: The Last Minute.
I don't know how to avoid the pink laser. I only last 59s at max. The bars took so long to reach 100%, I think it has something to do with how to avoid the laser.

Developer(+1)

Yes you are right. I have a design error in the game. I put a note on the game page to tell how to pass the first 60s.
Sorry for that. If you are willing to try again after reading it, I will be glad to have your feedback again. Thank you.

Submitted(+1)

Yes, I did read those before playing. I stand inside the circle radius of number 12 but still died from laser. That's why I said I don't how to avoid it. The pic said safe area, I thought I just need to stand in the circle to be safe but no luck. Or maybe I did it wrong.

Developer(+1)

I see you didn't collect enough time energy from diamonds to unlock the way.

In the game, when the player kills diamonds, they drop some time energy. This time energy is what reload the bars. Once the bars are reloaded, they retract and free the way. To reload the bars, you must be in their yellow circle and have enough time energy (bottom center of the screen).
The farer the bars are from 0 minute, the more energy they consume. And that is the problem of the first bar. It is too close from the 59minute's and the bar of 59 consume too more.

The safe area won't make you survive to the laser. It show where you should be to avoid wasting you energy on the 59minute bar.

Thanks for clearing that up. Turns out I need to stand at middle of big gap between minutes. I managed to unlock up to number 10 but accidentally fell asleep and closed the game. HAHA!

Developer

Haha. Thank you for playing

That was a very fun game! Very well done! The use of the theme was great. I was also unable to pass the first minute until I read your note on the page but after that it was so fun I didn't want to stop until unlocking every time marker!

Brilliant! Fun little game, the theme interpretation is original and the concept is unique, good job!

Developer

Thank you

I wanted to let you know that I had a fantastic experience playing "The Last Hour"! The shooting and audio quality of the game were very satisfying, and the tutorial was incredibly easy to follow. Although I only played for 30minutes, I found it very addictive. However, I had an issue unlocking the first marker, but it seems your already aware of that.
Keep up the great work!

Developer

Thank you!

Wow I really love this game. Like many people I struggled to get past the first minute, but after reading your guide it felt trivial =).

The graphics and controls were really responsive and the bullets had a nice bouncing feel to them. What is impressive about this game is that the geometry of the level design actually matters a lot. It may seem like the hour hand is useless, but it actually acts with the minute hand as a "reservoir" for the diamonds so you'll always have some easy points to pick up when you're on the left side of the clock. It also helps to shoot past the second hand as it's coming toward you so you don't miss out on energy.

Another thing I really like about the game design is that even though it feels like the same loop every minute, your actions in the past minute actually ends up changing the level every so slightly. So it's 99% similar for the next minute except one thing is different, and over time these small differences add up to the point that the level becomes totally different, even though the change is so gradual the player barely felt it. (This is sort of like the minimalist school of music, which I also really love)

The only slight problem I have right now is that even with the gradual changes, the gameplay is a bit too linear (in the first minute you MUST unlock tick 0, the next minute at tick 1, and so on). I wonder if there's some way to design the game so that in the first few minutes you have to unlock something really far from the minute hand, like tick 35 or something. But due to the time constraints this is all very understandable.

Overall this is a very sweet game with a lot of design potential! Félicitations!

Developer

Thank you very much for you comment. I will look into the linearity problem.

Great game, I just couldn't survive even a minute. Pretty Difficult. But it is really smooth  and juicy. Great!! :)

Submitted(+1)

it took a few attempts but I think I have found a winning strategy: keep shooting

Good use theme and appealing visuals

Nice and juicy! Though I can't last more than 59s

Developer

Thank you for playing.
That difficulty is unwanted and is due to a design error. I'm very sad about it, because people don't stand enough to feel the game fun.
I have put a note on the game page to help people pass the first 60s. After that, every things is fine.

It’s a very good idea. When I realized what was going on, I panicked immediately.
