Nice game!

I liked the gameplay and the visuals a lot, at the start I dont know why i just clipped through the ground and fell lol.

btw if you can play the game that I made and give me some feedback I really appreciate it :)

nice work. I fell through the floor and it wasn't clear why you couldn't go after a section cleared. A lot of nice work in two weeks. Well done.

So much work done in just two weeks! The game is overall fun and my 12-year-old brother loved it as well. GJ!

Developer

Thanks both to you and your brother :D

great work creating this in 2 weeks.
Brought lots of different elements together.

I'd have preferred a gun countdown to :), but it's an interesting mechanic having it take so long, as you've got to be careful and strategic in when you use the shot. Great idea.

I did have a bug at the end of the gold level. I killed a last green blob, as area cleared came and it jumped me to the transition screen. But i couldn't run into the Red area. After a few seconds the collider on the yellow area must have gone, and i fell for eternity :).

Oh, a beat’em up! Very nice visuals, but please consider making the animations shorter or at least cancellable (so your character can interrupt the action and move before the animation ends). Right now controlling the character feels very laggy because of that. More feedback to confirm hits on enemies would be nice, too.

Kudos for a good entry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah there was a plan on maybe making enemies bleed on hit instead of the blinking effect. Sadly we didn't manage it with time constraint. Also agree better way of handling animations and some easy way to stop attacks would be useful and possibly help the flow.

Thanks again for the comment!

Submitted(+1)

It was a bit hard to hit enemy without getting hit myself. Also, I wanted the count up to be a count down when I can shoot again.

I like your idea with ranged and melee attacks. If it had more speed, then I would really enjoy it.

Good job and keep it up :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah now that I think about it counting down instead of up would probably be better :D And yeah we didn't sadly manage to make fighting without being hit yourself more based on skill of the player rather than luck of dodging not very well shown hitboxes.

Thanks for feedback!

Loved the visuals and the music! The idea is original and it is fun to play!!  Good work!

Developer

Thanks a ton :D

I expected to fight Wednesday when I killed all the minions, but to be fair you mentioned that it's a prototype and that's too much to ask for from a prototype. nevertheless fun game. the music and the character movement was so much in sync and I was vibing with it lol.

Submitted(+1)

Very creative, a game different from the others we see around.
I liked very much the sound: good music and sound effects.
Good job!

Developer

Thanks :D

I think the combat could be smoother but this game has a good energy to it. Nice work. Also things looked a little squished in the intro dialogue. I love seeing world-building stuff like that built into a game though. Adds a nice touch. :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah the dialogue is squished, we actually did the dialogue section/pictures for it in the last hour of the jam and didn't get time to make it look a bit better :D Hopefully next time we can do stuff less on the last minute

I haven't seen a beat-em-up submission before! Fun idea! The controls are really what's holding this whole package back. The graphics are cute and the audio is nice (if a little repetitive for the player attack), but the delay with animations and attacks makes everything feel unfortunately unresponsive. I got to the first red stage before I died and was punted hilariously off screen. Overall, great submission, good job! I really liked the enemy variety and the music :)

Developer(+2)

Yeah there are not many beat-em ups on jams and I feel I know the reason why now :P But yeah we managed to get the attacking working, but I have to agree we didn't manage to get it working well. To have attacks feel snappy and have it less repetetive with possibly wider range of meele attacks, we would need more time that we didn't have. But I plan to use all knowledge I managed to get in animator for future games, be it beat em ups or else(and hopefully next beat em up will be either for longer jam or as a proper longer project :D )

Thanks so much for giving it a go and for the good feedback!

Took a little bit to figure some stuff out but awesome submission guys. I played it on my livestream if you didnt get to see it. I got to the end but then fell through the wall :P. Nice job

Alot of fun to play, loved the fighting animations and sound effects. The artwork is fits in perfect. Great job.

Developer

Thank you :D

Fun game! At first I was struggling with combat, but when I understood the timing, I was able to reach the skulls. I dont know if the skull part is endless, but killed a dozen :P
The bees was a good idea, it adds an extra challenge.

Developer(+1)

Happy you liked the bees, I felt they were an interesting way to make player crouch/jump at specific times. But yeah combat ain't polished, hopefully next time I do combat system like that I will be able to use all the knowledge I got from this jam and improve on it :D

Submitted

Fun, cute and a little broken.

Really liked the enemies and enviroment had a good vibe, ran into a few issues including falling out of the game as I got to the big hand/Red level?

Combat is a little clunky and those robo dudes really commit to firing in one direction!

But have to say made me smile, was playable and has a lot of great potential!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out :D Yeah the idea has a ton potential, we will see if we keep working on this or maybe use parts of it to make another beat em up style of game.

Yeah robo dudes didn't want to behave sometimes they all worked and than sometimes they wouldn't want to change the direction their projectiles were going :D

I will be sure to check out The Pyrite Contract soon!

Submitted(+2)

Love the graphics, as you say it needs more work on movement and combat, please keep working on it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks :D We shall see but I would love to work on another beat em up this or another one

Submitted(+1)

This was really cool! Nice job! :D I love the little alien

Developer(+1)

Thank you :)

Submitted(+2)

Well, i love the style of this game, maybe the camera can be worked more another time and the combat system.

Continue this after this jam :D

Developer

Thanks a ton, yeah camera can be quite easily bugged out and combat could use a touch up :D Thanks for liking the art style. I will be sure to check out your game as well

Submitted(+1)

I like lowpoly-style :)

The skeletons were hard, I couldn't beat them :( Loved the Big Skull and hands, had a dystopian feeling for me.

Do you mind to rate my game too?

Developer

Thanks! And of course I will check your game out, adding it to the top of my list games to play/vote on :D

Submitted(+1)

The game was pretty cool. I liked the story. The combat animations felt a bit long, but other than that not bad!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah didn't have enough time sadly to fix up and balance out the combat system. Still happy you enjoyed it and I will be sure to check out your goose hunt game :D
